Today, I realize that African American have a reason for saying that the Independence Police Department are racists. While visiting a friend at the Harthorn Apartments I heard a Independence Police woman being disrespect to a pregrant woman that they were arresting for traffic tickets, ( the woman told me this after spending 3 hours in jail for not having on a seat belt and a child not in a State Regulated Seat). At the time I did not know that the woman was an African American. She told the officer that she was 9 months pregrant and would she handcuff her in the front. The woman officer responded by say No B****, and the woman responded you have not told me what you are arresting me for nor have you read me my rights and why are you seaching my home. The woman officer responded "We are the Independence Police and we do not have to tell you a D&&& thing, and we do not need a search warrant and shut up." The woman asked again why was she being arrested and the Woman officer replied, so now you are resisting arrest. I did not hear any thing to indicate the woman was resisting arrest, all I hear was a rude police officer, and a woman asking why she was being arrest. I was one of those people that felt that African American used the race card against the police, now I know they have reasons for saying the Independence Police Department is Racist heard them with my own ears saying things that I felt a Police Officer should never say, and using words that no Lady would use.
I did not write everything the Woman office said, because it was very nasty and unnecessary from my point a view. I just want to know what the blog think about this.
