The Haircut

One day a florist goes to a barber for a haircut.  After the cut he
asked about his bill and the barber replies, 'I cannot accept money from
you. I'm doing community service this week.'  The florist was pleased and
left the shop.

When the barber goes to open his shop the next morning there is a 'thank
you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his
bill, the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you.  I'm
doing community service this week.'  The cop is happy and leaves the shop.

The next morning when the barber goes to open up there is a 'thank you'
card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Later that day, a college professor comes in for a haircut, and when he
tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money
from you.  I'm doing community service this week.' The professor is very
happy and leaves the shop.

The next morning when the barber opens his shop, there is a 'thank you'
card and a dozen different books, such as 'How to Improve Your Business'
and 'Becoming More Successful'.

'Then, a Congressman comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his
bill the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you.  I'm doing
community service this week.'  The Congressman is very happy and leaves the
shop.

The next morning when the barber goes to open up, there are a dozen
Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the
citizens of our country and the members of our Congress.

Vote carefully this year.

I'm pretty sure Edwards wasn't one one of them either.LOL, (BTW)His barber charged him the fee for that expensive haircut,it's not like he asked for the most expensive haircut he could find.

Edwards is wearing a rug. He pays for maintenance, thus the cost.

Good post August. Got a chuckle out of it.

Let's see, SSI compensation is about $550 a month last time I heard, probably went up, but $400 for a haircut could go a long way for someone struggling. Disgusting.

Maybe Edwards has given more than that to charities,we don't really know.If he want's to spend that much on a haircut, then let him.Its his money.

I saw Edwards on TV one time, and it was so obvious he was wearing a carpet, it was funny! I thought at times it might fall off his head! I even posted a blog on it, that was on the front page under Entertainment. Sorry, I deleted that one along with others.

But I don't think he got his 400 bucks worth THAT night! LOL!

Thanx August. Every now and then, and get dissatisfied with the way the blog here is run. I resolve to leave, and erase all posts.

But I am too addicted, and keep coming back! LOL! One of my very first blogs was on how addictive blogging is.

I do regret erasing more than a few of my posts, that would be most of them. I got some really good comments from beloved bloggers, some of whom are no longer here.

I will be more selective in the future, but for sure the "news blogs" blog will never be erased by me.
I was amazed at how fast it was unlocked, like "someone" wanted me to delete it, LOL!
That usually takes weeks, if ever. My blog on Musharraf is still locked, and it was gone from the front page long ago.

Um. Get them back? I never deleted any of those still there. It may have been during a time when the blog was screwed up, it happens here and there. About a week ago was the most recent time. I wrote a fairly lengthy comment on one of norty's posts and got a Whoops! notice. The comment did not appear, and I was too discusted to re-write it. So I never commented there, even though I did.
You have to admit that is aggravating, and why I get discusted.

That is besides the points I made on the "news" blog.

I would love to get many of the posts back that I deleted.

I agree with your observation of the blogs,It went down hill drastically starting around August or September of last year. But lately things have been picking up.Maybe they heard our cries.

I saw the sun, though it didn't shine Gave up no shadows, gave out no way to know the time No wind to blow the silver leaves The drone of clever talk just stopped The air hangs out, hesitates [ Find more Lyrics at www.mp3lyrics.org/1Rq ] to carry a thought Away from me And the sky colored heavy gray August Day Stir the dust and carve a rhyme Barefoot blues watch and wait till suppertime Will a smile break through Distant thunder and the slow dance Static lightning sky daring me to take a chance And say that I love you And the sky colored heavy gray August Day
