Sorry Congresswoman, but these are BLOGS. A DIALOG forum for people to have the chance to voice themselves to each other. You have turned your comments off, and that makes it now an editorial, and you have silenced the people within this forum. So now with respect Madam, I cut and paste your "editorial" where others can voice their view. I fought to defend the people's freedom of speach for over 20 years, and now disabled and retired, I still continue the fight!

Senator Hillary Clinton asked all at the convention to remember that in order to win, you have to keep going. She said Harriett Tubman told people escaping to freedom to keep going, even when they heard the dogs barking. She said keep going even when others want to take you back into servitude. Senator Clinton stressed in her key note speech last night that Democrats have to keep going if we want students trained to compete in a global economy. She said it's important to keep going so that women will receive equal pay for equal work and seniors will be able to retire and having savings for their golden years. She asked if her supporters were in the race just because of her or were they there because of the soldiers in Iraq and people who can't get medical care because they don't have insurance. She made the point that the campaign was about all the people who are locked out of the American dream. Therefore, she asked her supporters to unite behind Barack Obama and return a Democrat to the White House in 2008.
In Senator Clinton's words, though she did not break the glass ceiling, she put 18 million cracks in it. She ran an awesome race and will serve as a role model for my daughters and granddaugthers who are trying to find their place in the world. Democrats on Tuesday addressed the things that are important to the Party and to Americans. Speakers before Mrs. Clinton addressed health care, equal pay, retirement benefits, funding for higher education, the freedom to collective bargain and join a union and a higher minimum wage.
To prepare for the future, Americans were urged to manufacture hybrid vehicles made by American workers. We were encouraged to pay well qualified teachers and provide them with the resources necessary to prepare students to compete with nations like China, which is going for the gold. Democrats were asked to focus on the future and not the past in a 21st Centure economy.
Former Senator Bob Graham spoke to Florida Democrats this morning at breakfast and stated that in his 40 years of service to Florida, this is his 10th Democratic Convention. He reminded the group that John F. Kennedy gave his acceptance speech in the Los Angeles Coliseum, the largest stadium in America at the time. He said he thought it is significant that Barack Obama will deliver his acceptance speech at Invesco Field at the MiIe High Stadium. Though he served with John McCain for 18 years, Senator Graham asked Florida Delegates to support Senator Barack Obama who will help Americans begin the process of restoring our economy and our standing in the world. Tonight Vice Presidential nominee Joe Biden will speak followed by former President Bill Clinton.

Earlier this week Geraldine_Thompson a Florida Congresswoman posted on the blogs here, and her comments were on, and many people responded in a fashion while respectful, was not likely what she wanted to hear. Now those posts are gone, and we now have new topics, but the Congresswoman apparently has turned off her comments, thus relegating this forum into an editorial. Madam Congresswoman, you came here I hope to engage in dialog with fellow Floridians, and to silence the voice in this fashion is below you! If I wanted to be left to propaganda, and spin without a voice, I can simply read from Daily KOS, MoveON, or even read any of the Socialist websites that practice the same! Practices such as this along with the support of the Fairness Doctrine that is for silence of the radio forums, simply because you are unwilling to engage in debate of substance, and perspective is very disappointing.
I am also disappointed in the MYFOXORLANDO webteam for allowing and practicing such behavior. From sensoring exposure or anti-american PolicSci Professors at UCF, and now this? I may be one of the little people around here, but I saw too many people fight and die to defend the right of free speach, and this type of practice is a slap in the face to all Americans!
I will now post this in the Tampa and Colorado sites where I know it will get put up, and hope that maybe someone in Orlando will come to their senses.

The Clintons are going to have two nights of grandstanding at the Democrat Convention! Hillary folks from her supporters, to groups like the PUMAs and others have lined up a couple short performances or movies for the week, to "celebrate" the fantastic campaign that Hillary ran. Really!
This convention will even include a floor vote too? Is this really a party convention or is it a Funeral and Eulogy for the political career of the Clintons?
Evidently the Clintons have just been spending too much time in the middle east making 7 figures! They now are practicing martyrdom!!

The very pair that pushed a bill for fighting global poverty, under the radar, only a voice vote, and attached it to something else to get it passed! Obama the author, Biden the carrier pigeon!
So this is the "Change" ticket? Really? After pounding McCain for being one of the old Washington insiders that needs to go, Obama picks a VP that has been in the Senate SIX YEARS LONGER? LOL!
The sixth longest serving Senator EVER! The man who in debate ridiculed Obama as unexperienced, and McCain as a man he would campaign for or support?
Biden, while I like his down to earth speaking, and off the cuff antics. Is about to make the Democrat party into the most entertaining election in history! This man is still unaware that he can't operate as he has been used to since 73 with a biased media to cover and protect him. This is the man that the "black vote" said made racial slurs at saying Obama was the cleanest black man yet!
Oh! This is going to be fun!

So lets see now... a Vietnam Navy decorated war hero.... struggling along after the war... ends up getting married and the second wife is LOADED! Off to the Senate to serve the country that you risked your life for more than once, and enjoying the wealth and riches that you and the new wife have shared and made together...
This kind of person in 2004 was the perfect person to be the President of the United States! But somehow that all changes in 2008?
Sen. Kerry vs. Sen McCain hmmmm...
Democrats once again, forgot that some of us remember what they said just less than 4 years ago! This is what happens when you fight for an AGENDA instead of a PRINCIPLE. This is where Democrats operate without a CORE, and think it avails them the opportunity to be all over the map on issues...
This whole thing isn't about 7 houses.. It not about Obama not knowing which of the 57 States he plans on purchasing his next home in!!!
THIS is the actions of a very desperate Party that should be walking away with a landslide, and strong majority, but are loosing it BY THEIR OWN HAND!!

Has your wage increases kept up with inflation/cost of living increases?
Many are starting to understand what people are talking about when they hear the term "Middle Class Squeeze." Take for example, most businesses today has adopted the "cost of living" increase as a form of "pay raise" instead of the old $ 1.00 to $ 2.00 per hour raises that were given way back when for hard work, continued education, and continued growth in skills that benefit the company. So for many who have stayed in a company for 5 to 10 years, are they truly bringing home the pay level that is deserved?
Take for instance an individual who stays in the same company for many years, not really moving around, staying in the same position, but the skills have increased from continuous education and training. Each year, a cost of living raise is given, ranging anywhere from 2.3 to 3.9%.
The inflation rate is about 4%, but realistically most people know the real inflation rate is closer to probably 6% or 7%. So each year the individual that receives the cost of living increase as a raise has around 3% to 4% less buying power then they did the year before or in prior years as well.
A couple of things to think about, more companies require degrees for certain areas. If one chooses per say to have a career with the City, State, or Government, over period of time one could possibly loose 20% - 45% of their standard living. How will this affect our children coming out of college in the next few years? Can a student afford to repay a student loan, and be able to afford the cost of living that we are at right now? And, how long do you think it will be before the "Middle Class" is stomped down to the level of being considered among the poor, leaving us with only two classes, either being rich or poor?
Inflation getting 'uglier and uglier'
Surging energy prices help drive annual cost-of-living rate rise to 4.2%.
By Aaron Smith, CNNMoney.com staff writer Last Updated: June 13, 2008: 10:21 AM EDT
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The cost of living rose in May as consumers were belted by energy costs, the government said Friday. The Consumer Price Index, a key inflation reading, rose 4.2% through the 12 months ended in May, according to the Labor Department. This compared to an increase of 3.9% during the 12 months ended in April. For the month of May, overall CPI rose 0.6%, compared to an increase of 0.2% in April. That's the biggest increase since last November, when the overall CPI surged 0.9%. A consensus of analysts interviewed by Briefing.com had projected an increase of 0.5% for May.
The dramatic increase in energy costs were largely responsible for the overall inflation. Energy costs rose 4.4% in May, and surged 17.4% over the 12 months ending in May, the Labor Department said "These (CPI) numbers are nowhere near to what we're seeing in the real world," said Peter Beutel, energy analyst for Cameron Hanover, who believed the "real" cost of living has increased at a higher rate than the index shows. "But even these diluted numbers are showing that inflation is getting uglier and uglier and uglier." Beutel said this puts more pressure on the Federal Reserve to increase the federal funds rate, which he thinks could happen in August or September. The rate is currently at 2%. The higher that inflation is, the sooner the Fed has to raise rates to help keep a lid on prices," said Beutel. The index for fuel oil rose 10.4% in May and soared 64% over the 12 months. The gasoline index rose 5.7% in May and surged 20.8% on a year-over-year basis. The index for natural gas rose 5.6% in May, and was up 16.5% over the last year.
Electricity costs also increased, but less dramatically, edging up 0.9% in May, and rising 5.8% over the last 12 months. As a result, transportation costs increased 2% in May, and jumped 8.1% over the 12 months ending in May. The index for household energy costs climbed 2.8% in May, its fourth consecutive jump, the Labor Department said. The price of food also pushed up overall costs. Food costs increased 0.3% in May, and jumped 5.1% during the 12 months ending in May. The price of milk was a big influence on the overall price, increasing 10.2% over the 12 months, despite slipping 0.7% in May. The cost of clothing was the one area where consumers got some relief. Apparel costs deflated 0.2% in May, and decreased 0.4% over the 12 months. The core CPI, which excludes the cost of food and energy, rose 0.2% in May, compared to an increase of 0.1% in April. A consensus of analysts interviewed by Briefing.com had projected an increase of 0.2% for May.
The core CPI rose 2.3% during the 12 months ending in May.

So now I thought that it was politics that stopped at the waters edge, but evidently saving the planet from pollution, C02 emissions, greenhouse gasses, etc is only to happen at home! All those who swore to Kyoto now are getting a chance to see just how fantastic those efforts have rewarded mother earth with air pollution so thick in China you can cut it with a knife! Yesterday it actually rained, washing out some outdoor events, but for the FIRST TIME the air quality actually got within safe limits for olympic athletes. Where is Greenpeace, Sierria, Gore and little Kennedy? Who will expose the fact that alot of that ugly air comes from European nations that pay China will to have their industry and manufacturing over there away from enviromental regulations? Who will make a point that all the old Dupont freon gasses illegal in the US now are hanging out of every window in China!
We can't drill oil off our own shores but China, Cuba, and Russia can! We say business is outsourced because of cheap labor, but don't bring up the hyper regulation and shakedown of business that chases them out of this country! We go after "big oil" not remembering that Democrats (Hillary) ran "big drug company" out of town in Bill's first term, and we had vaccine shortages as a result of it that even killed people!

This president did not go to war "based on intel". I'm tired of hearing that. Dubbya/Cheney/Rummy twisted the intel. Members of Congress, Members of the Military, and Members of the C.I.A. have testified this fact once this bogus war was investigated. Too bad congress doesn't have the cajones to follow through with it.

Ohio Democrat contends that the president manufactured a false case for the war
Kucinich introduced a resolution last year to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney
.....Most of the congressman's resolution deals with the Iraq war, contending that the president manufactured a false case for the war, violated U.S. and international law to invade Iraq, failed to provide troops with proper equipment and falsified casualty reports for political purposes.
"Those who told lies to take us into war should be held accountable under the U.S. Constitution and at the International Criminal Court." (from Kucinich' website).

US congressman moves to impeach Bush
By Gary Fennelly
Tuesday, 10 June 2008
Former Democratic presidential contender, Dennis Kucinich, has called for the impeachment of George W Bush claiming that the president set out to deceive the nation, and violated his oath of office with the Iraq war.
The Ohio representative yesterday introduced 35 articles of impeachment against Bush on the floor of the US House of Representatives.
Kucinich unveiled a list of alleged illegal and improper acts by Bush, including war crimes.
He accused Bush of executing a "calculated and wide-ranging strategy" to deceive citizens and Congress into believing that Iraq posed an imminent threat to the United States.
He went on to say that Bush and Cheney lied to Congress and the American public about the reasons for invading Iraq in 2003 and abused their offices in order to conduct the "War on Terror" following the 9/11 attacks.
"Bush misled the American people and members of Congress to believe Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction so as to manufacture a false case for war. President George W. Bush, by such conduct, is guilty of an impeachable offense warranting removal from office," Kucinich said.
He has already introduced a similar impeachment resolution against Vice President Cheney.
Bob Fertik, President of Democrats.com, said: "We've waited seven years to find one Member of Congress brave enough to stand up for our Constitution, for which generations of Americans have fought and died.
"We are thrilled and honored that Dennis Kucinich has chosen to be that one genuine patriot.

Speaker Pelosi today so enraged with the GOP's relentless exposure of the Democrats refusal to do anything on the energy issue that has even a wiff of drilling, turned off the cameras, and lights today on the floor. Democrats refuse to allow a vote, or remain in secession, and think that now the news and pressure on oil and energy will just stop for the next 5 weeks.
Oh Mrs. Speaker.. you are now about to learn the hard way once again. President Bush in a lame duck position is going to become your worst nightmare for the next 5 weeks as he will bring your obstruction of oil drilling to the cameras every chance he gets! No amount of local damage control by liberals in their home districts will be able to compete with a national voice, and the media no longer is going to shelter the Democrats from it.
Pushing the issue on the front of EVERY voting citizen closer to election day will only make things worse for the left. Mrs. Speaker... you will NEVER get the last word, and yoru arrogance will be the demise of your party.

DENVER (MyFOXColorado.com) – Colorado Congressman Mark Udall was on the campaign trail Wednesday instead of at a critical vote that might have prevented Congress from going into summer recess. He promised to attend the vote during the taping of a debate that will air Sunday night on FOX 31.
A spokeswoman for Udall says the congressman was on his way back to Washington when the vote was called with only 10 minutes’ notice.
Udall had asked the House to delay the vote, but the resolution was passed by one vote, 213-212.
During Monday’s debate moderated by FOX 31 anchor and 2031 host Ron Zappolo, Republican Senate Candidate Bob Schaffer challenged Udall to vote against the recess and Udall accepted the challenge. Both candidates are running for the hotly contested Colorado U.S. Senate seat.
