Is it OK for McCain to say "lipstick on a pig",

but NOT OK for Obama to use that expression?

There is a very old expression,

"You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig".
That expression has been used as far back as

I can remember.  It means, you can dress something up,

but dressing it up won't change it.

When McCain was talking about Hillary's health plan, back in
Oct last year, McCain said Clinton's proposal was “eerily”
and went on to say, “I think they put some lipstick
on a pig, but it’s still a pig.”

McCain wasn't calling Clinton a pig. Was he?

Why whould anyone believe McCain didn't mean that
Hillary was a pig, but Obama meant Sarah was?

It's a commonly used expression, nothing more.
McCain and Obama have both used it.

Only people who use double standards would believe McCain didn't mean that Hillary was a pig and that Obama meant Palin was. In this case, it would be closed-minded right wing Republicans who are grasping at anything to gain votes. They're notorious for this type of maneuver. Obama and McCain were both using the familiar expression in reference to plans, not people.

CynPro! You hypocrite!!! Again posting on everyone else's posts, while you block others on yours!

Hypocracy from the left! Just 2 weeks ago McCain was asked how many homes he and the wife had, and because he is not to discuss his wife's finances, he REFERED the question to his staff. The liberal hacks took that and exploited it! Made TV adds with it saying McCain was out of touch, and drove it into the ground!

Now the Liberals have the audacity to complain about lipstick on a pig? WHOS the elite, double standard, do as I say not as I do crowd?

What comes around goes around, and now we have Joe Biden saying he shouldn't be the VP and Hillary would have been a better choice!!

You liberal hacks are destroying YOURSELVES!! The Republicans haven't even had to use their own words or people yet! You keep doing it to yourselves!!!

CynPro... step up woman! Open your posts up!

LOL.. That is me during a Black Belt exam being slammed by the 8th Dan and highest ranking Tomiki Aikido(aiki-jujitsu) man in the nation. If you have ever seen a Steven Segal movie.... thats the art. That level test was ten years in the making, and finished in Denver Colorado.

Well well... CynPro now has started to get a little heat from her fellow liberals friends here about censorship. While she single handedly is destroying ANY attempt of the left to portray themselves as having any intellectual honesty on the blog. She now has actually ONE post on her profile from an opposing viewpoint which is either a slip on her part OR maybe has gotten the message. Hate me all you like, block me all day long, its when you block ANY opposing view, or facts from anyone, that you are the intellectual coward! Lets see if she allows anyone else to post on her topics today....

If you would really pay attention to how the people around reacted you would understand why people were offended by Obama's comments. When McCain said it he clearly didn't mean it towards Hillary and no one took it that way. But when Obama said it right after Sarah had told the joke about the hockey mom and the pit bull everyone there took it to mean he was calling Sarah a pig. And they cheered. That is when if he was any kind of a leader he would have spoke up and said I didn't mean it that way. But he didn't. He smiled. Watch the clip again. And I am a democrat and it offends me.
