So..are you heading out of town this holiday weekend?  I've spoken with a lot of people who say that current gas prices will keep them from going anywhere far.  I don't blame them.  With gas now hovering at $4 a gallon, many of us are making changes.  Jaunts of 100 miles or more can get pretty expensive, especially since most of us don't drive hybrid's or motorcycles.  And have you priced an airline ticket lately.  They're skyhigh!  Even for the short hops.  Multiply that by two or three or more and family air travel is out of the question.  Will gas prices change the way you do things.....forever?

You know if we continue to not travel and not go to Vegas and blow thousands. If we do not go to ball games and blow hundreds and we stop going to amusement parks, then and only then will we get the power back from the corrupt politicians and big business owners. Why should they give a BLEEP right now? We only complain but do not do anything about it.
Its not just gas; we are paying more for everything now but our salaries are not moving. So the ball is in our court - lets take the power back from those thieves.

The OC's my beat for FOX 11 News. But you can catch me covering just about any story, any place, any time. Have news, will travel! I've been doing that here at Fox 11 for 15 years, traveling coast to coast and south of the border. You never know what you might do or where you might end up and your assignment could change from one minute to the next. To me, that's what being a reporter is all about. And it's pretty cool working in an area where I was born and raised. Yep, I'm a native Angeleno and proud of it!! In case you're wondering, Naipo is Hawaiian, the short version of the 21-letter ancestral name, Naipoikamanaihookaahi....
Good luck on the pronunciation.
