The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office lost a K-9 officer over the weekend. The three-year old German Shepard, named Lobo, had been on the force for about a year and a half.  He was killed when he was hit by a car along I-75.  Officer Lobo had apparently somehow, got out of a boarding kennel.  While all pet owners feel a sense of loss when a pet dies, the community loses out as well when a K-9 officer dies.  Lobo had taken part in catching criminals.  So he leaves behind not only his handler, and fellow officers, but a community for which he worked.  Here's to you Lobo!  Thanks for everything!

Anne, I saw your report on Officer Lobo this morning. What a shame.

K-9's are dear to my heart. They do their jobs so well.

I'm sure Lobo will be sorely missed.

my thoughts and prayer are with them. As he passes to the Rainbow bridge we must remember we will meet again someday.
the website petloss.com brings comfort and lets all light a candle in his memory and join the candle light service on Monday night for pets who have passed on.

As I write this bio, I realize just how fast time flies. I've been working at WTVT Channel 13 for almost 20 years. I started on the morning show with Ernie Lee, when it was called "Breakfast Beat." During these years I've worked the medical beat and weekend mornings. I come from the Midwest. I was born and raised in Decatur, Illinois, once the soybean capitol of the world! College took me to the big city of Chicago. I "played in Peoria" at a TV station there before settling in Tampa. It's been a great adventure, and I can't wait for the NEXT 20!!!!!
