There is so much attention lately on female teacher's having relations with their male students.   I realize these are juicy stories: but at the same time, let's remember to put this into perspective.  There are many more fabulous teachers who follow the rules and stick with the textbooks when it comes to educating students.  Sometimes the few negative stories overshadow the majority of the good ones.

Dear Mr. Obama,
When you first ran for president you said a lot of good things about change.
But now you scare me. You said all the things people wanted to hear, but now I do not believe you anymore!
You supported a church that spouted racist and anti American slogans. Church is for spreading the word of GOD and the love of Jesus Christ. Not a forum for spreading hate.
You attended a church for 20 years but say you disagree with the pastor remarks. So why did you continue attending services there and financially help support the church. You allowed your children to hear the message of hate towards whites and America. So what have your children learned? Did they hear the messages of hate or did they hear the message of love thru Jesus Christ? So when you are in office what will you teach our children?
Plus you had your children and family members baptized there
The first time my children would have hear the messages of hate from the pastor, I would have pulled them out of that church and away from that influence.
We have come a long way to stop racism, now I feel you have caused a lot of damage to movement to stop racial hatred. Your children have learned intolerance towards people of other races, because you allowed it!
To me that church is no different than the Klu Klux Klan!
If Hillary Clinton had attended a church that preached hatred towards other races, then the American people would of demanded her resignation not only from the senate but would have demanded her that she dropped out of the race for president. She would have been called a

I completely agree Anne. The actions of these teachers is completely disgusting. However, there are many good teachers out there that I respect. They have a very tough job that I don't think I could do. The teachers I have dealt with at Cork Elementary, Tomlin Middle and Plant City High are wonderful. That includes counselors and administrators. Maybe you could do a small segment each week highlighting a good teacher.

Oh and welcome back from your vacation! Don't feel too bad about not cleaning out your closet. I have one that's been needing to be cleaned out for at least five years!! LOL!!

I was so sad to hear the 10:00 news report the story about the Mitchell teacher who had sex with a student. The emphasis should not have been that she was a teacher, technically she is not. She is a woman who qualified to be a substitute. As a matter of fact she was at the school for only a short time. Teachers work so hard! When you are a teacher you come to work early, stay late so you have everything ready for the next day and don't expect to be paid for the extra time. Teachers are typically the type of people who have a love for children, not lust.
It's unfortunate that one bad apple spoils the whole barrel, especially when she is not a real teacher. A substitute is a person who shows up and hopefully follows through with the plans a teacher has left.
It would be nice if we heard a few positive stories about the wonderful things going on in the schools. I have been pleased with both the Pasco and Pinellas schools overall and have encountered many outstanding teachers through the years.

The same thing can be applied to Detention Deputies at the jail. Not all them dump people from a wheel chair. The majority of them are professional, well trained individuals who have pride in what they do. It is a tough job, but teachers have a tough job as well.

This world is the way it is because of people who stand up for the rights of the criminal instead of the victim. They scream "police brutality" instead of protecting the ones who were hurt by the crime. So why should the criminals be afraid? But punish an entire group for the sins of the few it not right either. Unfortunately for mankind it is easier to condemn a group as a whole than evaluate them as individuals. After all who has the time? Right?

Wake up people! We have no one to blame for the way our society is but ourselves. We elect officials to make laws to protect us, we hire those to enforce the laws, but yet we tie their hands and look the other way just hoping crime never comes in our corner of the world.

So now we have had a rash of teacher related reports and we choose to lump all teachers together in the same group. I have an idea, let's just get rid of all teachers, law officers, public officials, judges and go ahead the President too! Oh wait, that would be Iraq, so if you don't like what Amercica has to offer, MOVE!

As I write this bio, I realize just how fast time flies. I've been working at WTVT Channel 13 for almost 20 years. I started on the morning show with Ernie Lee, when it was called "Breakfast Beat." During these years I've worked the medical beat and weekend mornings. I come from the Midwest. I was born and raised in Decatur, Illinois, once the soybean capitol of the world! College took me to the big city of Chicago. I "played in Peoria" at a TV station there before settling in Tampa. It's been a great adventure, and I can't wait for the NEXT 20!!!!!
