High School graduation is a grand moment in a teenager's life.  It represents the completion of  one phase of life, and a step into a new one.  It's a bittersweet time for parents of those crossing that threshold: we want to see our children grow into upstanding adults, yet we are sad to see the younger years pass, never to return.  At these types of ceremonies, I find myself grinning with pride and crying at the same time.  Where did our babies go, and why did the time have to go by so quickly.  I miss what used to be, yet embrace what's yet to come.  Congratulations to my son and his classmates!  You make us proud!

Anne, it is a blink of an eye isn't it? To all the mom's and dad's out there that think they will never grow up, don't rush it. It happens all too soon!

Congratulations to all the graduates!

I just realized Ann that you started this blog. Just wanted to let you know that I've always enjoyed your news reporting and have always thought you were the most attractive news lady in our area. You make us brunnettes look good!!! Thanks for being there in the morning. And thanks to Russell too!

Anne you touched it right on the head. It's amazing how fast they grow up. One day you're taking the pregnancy test and all to soon they are grown and gone. I just wish that there was a way to get the kids to really understand how much this time is gonna mean to them when they reach their 30's and 40's. They want to grow up sooo fast, but once they are they are really gonna want these days back. Enjoy them while you have them because you can't get these days back again. BEST OF LUCK GRADS

As I write this bio, I realize just how fast time flies. I've been working at WTVT Channel 13 for almost 20 years. I started on the morning show with Ernie Lee, when it was called "Breakfast Beat." During these years I've worked the medical beat and weekend mornings. I come from the Midwest. I was born and raised in Decatur, Illinois, once the soybean capitol of the world! College took me to the big city of Chicago. I "played in Peoria" at a TV station there before settling in Tampa. It's been a great adventure, and I can't wait for the NEXT 20!!!!!
