Sometimes,  the little things in life get me excited!!!

I have to share with you one of my recent purchases.  Call me a nerd,  but I bought one of those plastic, collapsible, rolling carts about three weeks ago.  I LOVE it.  I never thought I would use it as much as I do. Actually, I bought a second one a few days later!  I use them to bring in groceries, including large containers of laundry detergent,  liters of water or soda.  They save me from going back and forth from the car to the house with heavy bags, hanging from my arms.  I bought them at a wholesale club, but other stores have them, and they are all over the internet.   There are several brands too. I keep them in my trunk.

Anyway:  I got to thinking, certainly there are other individuals who feel the same way about a purchase: one that hasn't changed the world, but one that makes your life just a little easier. (And I'm not talking about shares of stock that hit it big, or acres of land  purchased 30 years ago.)

Anyone care to share?

I knew there would be another Libra who thought this to be a great thing to buy! (My birthday is October 8)

I have one and absolutely love it also! I work for Camp Fire USA, and I am always on the road doing some sort of class for our youth members. Before, I had to lug around milk crates or whatever else we could afford on a non-profit budget, which isn't much :) But I saw it and bought it for myself, it was the best investment I have made and my back really thanks me.

By the way keep up the great work, you and Russell are my familie's favorites!

I used to bring my kids shopping with us. They would get to pick out 2 food items of their choice. They never chose health food, but neither would we. Upon arriving home, they would help tote the parcels to the house. This not only saved us a trip or 2 but taught them that labor has it's rewards.

My MIL bought some, and what a back saver when we went to a local parade. Since I had to walk three blocks, toting two of them made watching the 3 kids so much easier, and even though I still had to carry the collapsable chairs, It was nice to sit down and have EVERYTHING packed neatly in the totes.

I have difficulty with opening jars. I have learned to use rubber gloves on larger jars, but my parents bought me a nut cracker that works great for removing smaller caps. It seems like they are almost welded on.

With all perverts out in the world of late, I suddenly realized one day that my daily walks were no longer as relaxing. I was constantly watching a vehicle going by, a person coming toward me on the sidewalk. You know what I mean? Problem solved. Instead of taking those walks alone now, I have purchased one of those stationary bikes. I have it sitting in front of a TV in our music room and I love it! Now I can get that exercise without feeling threatened. Oh, I still take the walks though, but only with my husband, or a friend when they can join me.

GeishaKat, I know what you mean. When I had my large dog I walked her 30 minutes 3 times a day. I felt safe. She would without a doubt protect me. After she passed I tried to walk but the memory of her and the insecure feeling made it really tough. I turned to pilates. I could get the same level of exercise in a safe enviornment. So I guess in a way, TV is a useful tool......just don't overuse it!

As I write this bio, I realize just how fast time flies. I've been working at WTVT Channel 13 for almost 20 years. I started on the morning show with Ernie Lee, when it was called "Breakfast Beat." During these years I've worked the medical beat and weekend mornings. I come from the Midwest. I was born and raised in Decatur, Illinois, once the soybean capitol of the world! College took me to the big city of Chicago. I "played in Peoria" at a TV station there before settling in Tampa. It's been a great adventure, and I can't wait for the NEXT 20!!!!!
