I do not know of anyone who believes in the messages from the Bible, who does not hold Mary, the Mother of Y'shua (Jesus), in very high esteem. She was indeed a very special and fortunate young woman. And truly, her name will be blessed throughout eternity.

Unfortunately, though, too many elevate her to near deity, when that just is not the way it is. Understand, Mary was not the "Mother of God," but the Mother of the Christ Child. He was in existence long before she came onto the scene.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-4, 14)

Mary was a common Hebrew girl who had been raised right, and whose faith in God, and submission to Him was pure. I have no doubt that she was also taught to have a living hope for the advent of Messiach. She was not immaculately conceived, as her son was. She was not deity. She was totally taken by surprise and puzzled by the Angel's greeting.

After the Christ Child was born, Mary was, without question, a submissive and faithful wife to her husband, Joseph. "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?" (Mark 6:3) She is not the perpetual Virgin.

After Y'shua reached adulthood, and at age thirty eligible to be called Rabbi, Mary did not tell Y'shua what to do . . . she no longer exercised any control over Him. When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine." And Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does that have to do with us? My hour has not yet come." (John 2:3-4) He was not being disrespectful; He still loved his mother with His heart. But, He was telling her what she already knew, that not even a mother has the right to tell a grown man what to do.

At this point, we see that she proceeded to exercise the only authority she had in the situation . . . she commanded the servants. His mother said to the servants, "Whatever He says to you, do it." (John 2:5)

So, people; if you truly love and respect Mary the Mother of the Christ Child, you must also love and respect her only recorded Commandment.

“WHATEVER JESUS SAYS TO YOU, DO IT!!”

One last point of information for you to take to heart: from the Revelation of the Apocolypse, given to the Apostle John, Then I fell at his feet to worship him.  But he [the Angel]  said to me, "Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." (Rev 19:10)

We are not to worship Angels, I do not have a doubt in my mind that Mary would say the same thing to those of you who worship her . . . "Do not do that!"

I still can't understand why Moses told his people that God told him to atack the Cannanites and slay (not just smite) everyone, including the children and animals.

Times have changed Ark and so have many of us. I feel we're all equal regardless of gender or anything else. Except, of course, the French.

Dear V,

Many of the OTHER Nations were Killed ALSO!

The Answer to YOUR Question! This is WHY!

(Deuteronomy 18:12-13) For all that do these things are an abomination to Jehovah. And because of these abominations Jehovah your God drives them out from before you.

(Deut 18:13) You shall be perfect with Jehovah your God.

... AND...

(Psa 98:2) The LORD hath made known His salvation: His righteousness has He openly showed in the sight of the heathen.

BUT... they Rejected GOD... and His Righteousness!

Simply READ.... Romans Chapter ONE, the Entire Chapter!

That will Additionally Explain... WHY!

(Romans 1:20-21-22) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

(Rom 1:21) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

(Rom 1:22) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Thank you Roger, and I will add this:

Secular History (not Biblical accounts) reveal that the Canaanite culture had become so depraved with homosexuality and bestiality that the entire population, including the animals were infested with a number of Venereal Diseases.

Now, the Commandment says "You shall not MURDER," not simply "You shall not kill."  Otherwise, His order would have been in contradiction to His own declared Law. Jehovah ordered them wiped out for the safety of the entire future of Mankind!

Also, if the Commandment said simply, "You shall not kill," the Ordained Sacrifices would be in violation of the Commandment, and we would be in violation in the consumption of animal meat.

God sure didn't want to deprive us of the pleasure of a good steak, or a standing rack of succulent lamb!

Sorry Ark but I don't buy it. Seems odd to me that the Almighty needs man to do His bidding. Makes no sense. God can and frequently does cure any disease.
Please be advised that poor Roger does nothing more than quote scripture to prove the validity of scripture. Your response got me thinking.

"Seems odd to me that the Almighty needs man to do His bidding."

Oh yeah . . . . . . . . . . .

Well, the first time He spoke to them direct, they trembled and shook and cried to Moses, "You go up and hear what He says, then come back and tell us."

And He didn't cure the Canaanite's diseases (I believe) because They'd had word of Him and His deeds for four hundred forty years, and preferred their wild party lifestyle to getting right and living clean.

I see. Interesting. I've found that compromise usually works in most things. One can still have a great ride in life without being cloistered; it doesn't have to be dull to be good. I think the meaning of life is to have the best time possible for each individual without causing harm. That's what I'm trying to do.

I still can't see God having people kill bad folks when He could have made them vanish by himself. Sounds like bloodlust and just another excuse to take land from others.

I wonder when and if God will speak directly to us again. Sometimes I fear we're not listening. What fools we mortals be.

When next He speaks, most people will not be happy to hear what He will say.

What Fools We Mortals Be, Indeed.

Sorry All!

Mary does NOT HAVE Any Authority with GOD! Think SO? Perhaps you Never Read This?

(Matthew 12:47-to-50) Someone told him, "Look! Your mother and your brothers are standing outside asking to speak to you."

(Mat 12:48) He asked the man who told him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?"

(Mat 12:49) Then pointing with his hand at his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers!

(Mat 12:50) For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."

Christ Jesus NEVER gave any special authority to His Mother! Better said in the Word...!

(1Timothy 2:5) There is one God. There is also = one mediator = between God and human beings-a human, Christ Jesus.

Sorry, The Bible say ONLY JESUS! Prayers to Mary... ARE NOT HEARD BY GOD!

Thanks for Asking! RR

First and Foremost the Bible is written to teach a Saving Grace through accepting Jesus Christ as our Saviour:the only way into Heaven. then for those of us that have accepted Him, the Bible is an instructional book on how to live life, walk a closer walk with God and to Glorify Him through our actions towards others. THE BIBLE is GOD talking to us. our prayers are our way of talking to GOD. If we fail to read GOD's WORD then we fail to hear HIM. God only hears the prayers for salvation and then the prayers of the saved. He can not help or hear those that dont want to be HIs CHILDREN!. GOD is still GOD through all of this mess going on now. JESUS CHRIST is coming back soon!
