I just have to say that I am getting so frustrated with the way people are becoming so inconsiderate on the road these days. Here's what happened and it just scared me for my daughter. I was merging onto 71 South from Snow Road at the beginning stage of rush hour and there were 3 cars ahead of me and 4 cars behind me. The merging lane only gives you so much distance to build up your speed to merge with oncoming traffic. Well the very first car that was leading the whole line was going about 45-50 mph which slowed down the rest of us merging (in my opinion they needed a little more get up). The first 3 cars were fine merging with the traffic until it was my turn along with the car behind me. There was a lady driving an F-150 that would not BUDGE if her life depended on it. She was riding along side of me the whole time I was trying to merge in my lane. When I tried to slow down to let her ahead, she slowed down with me. Then I tried to speed up so she would be behind me, and she sped up too. By the time the lane could only fit 1 car, I was on the shoulder and nearly hit the guardrail because of her. Oh, did I mention that the lane right next to her had no cars beside her. It really seemed as if she was trying to run me off the road. It's not like I have a small car and she couldn't see me because I drive an Aspen and I was just as high as she was. What really got me was that when I beeped my horn she wouldn't look at me or even flinch to move. I had my 10 month old with me and all I thought about was that if she would have caused me to have an accident, what could have happened to my angel, let alone the people behind me? It's been a while since I had taken my wriiten driving test, but shouldn't the oncoming traffic let the mergers merge and not be in that lane? Especially when the traffic is not heavy?
I know this is a long shot, but if you were the driver of the black F-150, be considerate of the other drivers out there! You don't own 71 South nor will you EVER!!! Think about what you could have caused just because you were selfish.
