'Brain Freeze' Blamed In Car Crash

Drivers Says Cold Drink Caused Pain In Head

SALINA, Kan. -- Salina police say a 66-year-old man whose car crashed into a house blames "brain freeze" from a cold drink for the mishap. Robert Schulz told police that the sudden, sharp pain in his head while driving Tuesday afternoon was followed by a "chest freeze." Schulz said he had just purchased the flavored, frozen drink from a Sonic restaurant and was drinking it while driving at 3:45 p.m. But he was hit by the painful sensation that often comes after a big swallow of cold liquid. Schulz said his car then went out of control, left the street and slammed into the front steps of a house. An ambulance took Schulz to Salina Regional Health Center, where he was treated and released.

I saw this last night on the news and that was the first thing I thought about, " Oh here comes a law suit over a -brain freeze!!" I am addicted to slurpees, icees, how ever you want to call them. Since I can remember, so yeah I have had my share of 'brain freezes'!! Can't wait to see how this one comes out!! Wouldn't shock me if he wins!! ha-ha!! This is America!

Reminded me of when a bite of cold icecream struck a nerve and caused severe pain. I learned real fast to keep a cup of (tap) water handy so I could take a quick swallow to kill the pain instantly.
I never crashed my car because of that though. :) Never though of using that as an excuse for screwing up either, come to think of it. Hmmmm

Busybee--- I had the same thought last night!! Hmmmm.... I can't come in to work because..... "brain freeze!!!"" ha-ha!! Yet, I always thought that "I'm fat because it's the fast food's fault!" or "I burned myself because the coffee was too hott!!" um...yeah... those are thoughts that never crossed my mind. Yet, some people will do and say anything to get over and get a little money while they take all the blame off themselves!! Terrible but true!! Well got to go for the night...off to my second job!! Nite all!!
