This is in some ways a response to Jistol and Wing-Man blogs they wrote a month or so ago. In it he stated how much better America was back in the day. I don't know how it was back then I wasn't alive. The only thing I can do is express how I see it.

The American Dream is a phrase made up in 1931. It was a way of saying unlike Europe no matter your birth right you are able to accomplish what you are a capable of. This is still very true today. I don't care if American Schools don't test as well against the world because it is the collective effort of the student and parent to ensure the educational outcome. If a student goes to school everyday and puts forth their best effort they would stand comparatively to other students worldly. The ethic is lacking. We have grown lazy or some. As far as prayer goes in school, there is a separation of church and state. Schools are state and federally funded, thus should there be prayer? Think back to when Jews were outcast. If someone in your school found out you were Jewish you got the BLEEP knocked out of you. Is this what we want another reason for our children to fight? Adults are unable to agree religiously what in the world makes anyone think children can? They argue over whose dog is bigger. On the other hand perhaps religion should be taught in school on an elementary level. This could lead to understanding and acceptance of others. A place where others can hear your prayer and learn respect. The Pledge of Allegiance is a whole different subject. You are here in America. It is the Pledge of Allegiance to America and it contains the word God. So what? If you don't like it don't  say God. If it is because you feel its the Christian God make it to your God. If it is because you do not believe in God well just don't say under God. Its time to grow up and be proud of our nation.

As a child and still to this day, I grow very angry over individuals who do not place their hand over their heart to say the Pledge of Allegiance. It is a sign of respect to the men and women who fought for this great nation. And YES it is still a GREAT NATION! I find fault in the lack of parenting to teach their children respect. However, it is the land of the free soooo how can I force someone to do something they don't want to? But I guarantee if it was your family member who valiantly served our nation and lost their life, you would feel the same as I.  And to the members in Congress who talk during the Pledge, get your booties out of office!  (they did grow up in the good ole days... whats up with that?) You are the representatives of our country and the respect you show is appalling. It is not only Obama.

Now about everyone who claims how "good" things were back in the day, the murder rate per capita has not changed since 1907. It fluctuates due to of all things the war on drugs. Every time a law like prohibition is passed it rises from 5 per 100,000 to 10 per 100,000. I am not advocating legalizing drugs but the murder rate is no different from 100 years ago.  Now anti-gun advocates shove that one where the sun don't shine. lol.  Could it be the media is now just covering it more and we hear about it ALL the time? And statistically drug use is down since the seventies even alcohol, the difference is people feel able to talk about it. Back in the day you closed your curtain and didn't tell a soul in fear of being shamed.

Another thing about the good ole days. Kids today don't run around lynching black people. And what was up with burning a cross in their yard? Who showed lack of respect to Jesus? The religious claim we are losing our values now because of gays. But I don't hear of crosses being burnt to the extent they were then. You are disrespecting God when you commit such notorious acts. Love one another.... Back then the morals were being corrupted by the blacks, same song different dance.

Now on to the gangs. The gangs are no different than the mafia. Same thing different name. Or was it just so much better because the mafia showed respect to people they killed? Sending their widows flowers.... a slap in the face if you ask me. And really what was so respectful of the Valentines Day Massacre? Or the fights in the street with tommy guns in broad daylight? There was no respect for the innocent. Furthermore being the murder rate is basically unchanged, whats the difference?

The unwed mother issue. The birth rate of unwed mothers is basically unchanged. The difference is they are no longer sent off to live in shame. They can keep their babies and love them without society hating them. What is wrong with that? There is no change from then to now aside from we do not shame others. Is that what Jesus would like us to do? Shame others while ostricising them from society. Our generation has learned acceptance taught by the our grandparents and parents. The same people who gripe about our failing society. So how can anyone complain when ultimately you learn the most from your family?

The political arena is really no different since the beginning of the 1900's. The only difference is the media and the Internet. People... adults the same who are so worried about now and the failing family values are the same ones who have absolutely no respect for others. It is common place to call names and spread rumors. Is it any different? Or is it just vocalized more? Does this not lead to hate? And it is NOT the horrible children doing this, it is ADULTS who want so much respect and give little. Think about it.

I ask anyone who claims how wonderful things were and how bad they are today how is it so? I can still become who I want, I do not have to live in shame, I can still speak against my government... those who claim it was unacceptable to speak against the government back then and say it was a good thing, you fail to realize why America was built... to get out from under tyranny. And those who want to resort back to Christian beliefs, wasn't America also built to escape religious persecution? To practice the religion you so desired. I think many fail to understand, especially those who dislike European ways, are certainly resorting back to them

I love America, it is basically unchanged. The only change is the things people argue over. If you say people don't connect like they used to, I challenge you to do to a little league sporting event. Parents become friends. We just don't bake pies and cookies anymore and screw the mailman.

I admit I am a young woman trying to find myself politically. Coming on this site has really opened my eyes at how much Conservatives and liberals dislike one another. I honestly had no idea. I wasn't raised to hate another due to political affiliation or call them names. In fact if I did call someone a name I got my butt whooped. Some of the name calling is ridiculous not just here but on other sites as well.

I have also learned if you align yourself with a certain party you have to be in all the way. If you are a Democrat you have to dislike, trash talk, and spread rumors about the Republicans. Oh boy and if you are a Republican, it is ten times worse. You actually have to come up with a study to prove all the liberals are mentally ill. You are intolerant of other religions, but with a forked tongue claim you are. You counter with buts and what ifs, you spout off "be informed or die!"  You send out mass emails with completely false information about Obama. You actually believe John McCain's commercial about Obama not wanting to see wounded soldiers and you have a fake email from an eye-witness. And who is gullible?

Now here is another thing that gets me with all the above being said, how can anyone of you who act like children yourself claim the American youth is dumb? And if they are you have NO ONE to blame but yourselves. It is not only the schools responsibility to educate your child but first and foremost the parents. The Conservatives who are screaming for a smaller government have weaseled their way in. They also want prayer in school but not condemns. I don't know if you remember being a teen but you are going to have sex one day and it is best to be prepared. Its not a free ticket to ride as some claim. Its just best to be prepared. Now you Liberals out there who don't want prayer... I say to you it is my right to say a prayer if I choose. My child should be allowed to stand up and say the word God in the Pledge of Allegiance. Now it also goes without saying if a student with a different religion wants to say their own prayer IT HAS TO BE TOLERATED. OK Conservatives?

On to this little pet peeve of mine. I absolutely can not tolerate women being blamed for the fall out of family values. If the women didn't work and stayed home all would be hunky dory? Maybe so, but the man can stay at home just as the woman can. And whoever the heck stated a woman is happier having a man than a career needs to be slapped. HARD! Yeah, I know acting like a child but that is so chauvinistic.

I haven't covered everything but just a few things that get on my nerves to no end.

First off, I do not support Illegal's being here in the states but how can so many on this blog wish death upon them? Many who write these death wishes are pro-claimed Christians, which vexes me even more. Well, a week or so ago a 25 year old Illegal was stomped to death by GUESS WHO...... teenagers from a PA football team. Yes, kids. These kids picking up on the hatred of their parents. They kicked him in the head, stomped a cross necklace embedding it into his chest, and when passerbyers tried to help a retired police officer heard the teens screaming, "Go back to Mexico, racial slur or you'll be next." The retired police officer called police but it was to late. The young father of two was to die a day later from head trauma.

You can give me all the statistics in the world and I won't change my mind. NOBODY deserves to die this way or shot for crossing a border. Think just a little before you write such hate where yes teens can read it. You can say all day long that your child would NEVER do such a thing, but really people do you honestly believe these parents thought their children would kill?

What the hell happened to justice? I guess it doesn't matter if it gets in the way of your bank account. Just kill anyone you think is guilty in the street... its cheap. Is that what you all really want? Marshal Law.........

I have read all the hate filled blogs about Islam. So I wonder:

If we are to officially hate Arabs, do we only hate Islamic Arabs or should we also hate Arabs who are Christians?

If it is Islam, then are we to also hate Muslims in Africa? Or in Indonesia? How about Muslims who are American citizens? And, if so, should we hate White and Black Muslim Americans equally, or do African-American Muslims get a bye based upon how their forebears were treated?

We may have found a political port in which we have agreed that state-sponsored racism/bigotry  is acceptable public policy.  If this continues then we will be sailing into a great deal of troubled water in the years ahead.

While Obama spouts the word change in his campaign, I wonder what change. Since, I have repeatedly asked Obama supporters what change is going to bring with no answer, I decided to research this subject myself.

Since elected to the Senate in 2004, Obama has not voted on over half of all bills. On the ones he did he voted 97% of the time along party lines. He boasts he reaches across party lines to bring together Democrats and Republicans but it has only been on two bills and fails to mention that other Dems and Reps alike also came together on their own. Furthermore, he was only in the senate for @ 18 months before throwing his hat into the Presidential election of 2008. Does this strike anyone odd?

He also supports even more affirmative action as he believes our country must never forget the past legacy of discrimination. He further vows more money for the impoverished black community and even stated the reason there are so many black single parents is discrimination.

He is also the ONLY senate member in IL to support allowing a living baby to be left to die if it was intended abortion. Is this the CHANGE we can believe in?

For anyone who states he is Patriotic explain why he voted NO on recommending Constitutional ban on flag desecration. (Jun 2006)

He also supports a nation wide smoking ban after being tested at the local level. Only would allow a person to buy one gun a month and will do away with semi-autos, did Obama vote agianst the war or was he simply not present to vote.. in 2007 it was admitted he voted to late and therefore had no say in oppressing the war, voted no on funding Social Security, and much more....

So when he offers the masses change, will he be present? When he offers hope, will he be there?

My conclusion is he has found a way to prey on the weakness of the American People by offering Hope and Change. We desperately need change, but aside from his shady associates, his voting record goes to show its politics as usual. Empty promises and if he is elected I bet a pretty penny he will be the most hated President because there is no way in He!! he can give us change when there is not a plan and looking at his voting record he offers nothing more than just another politician....... ONLY with NO EXPERIENCE!

Feel free to correct me- I have asked so many times WHAT CHANGE and NOT ONE OBAMA sheep could answer. Don't tell me its faith, I want facts.

To be honest, I will never fully understand the need for preferential treatment on the basis of gender or race in public employment and education. Could it be, my generation didn't see segregated schools, white only water fountains, slavery, or any of the other atrocities of previous generations. (and my generation is tagged as bad) Is it because I am young and believe we all have the ability to shape our own lives? Perhaps young and dumb? Overly optimistic? Whatever the reason maybe, I find it a slap in my face as a woman to be accepted to a school or employment opportunity simply for my DNA. Why should anyone be given something they do not deserve?  Like buisnesses owned by a woman or  minority get primary consideration for federal and state contracts. Are they best for the job? Guess it doesn't matter as long they have the right genetic make-up.

How long does this country have to pay back women and minorities? Obama has made clear that this nation needs some form of affirmative action to address the legacy of discrimination in America. Key word LEGACY. So when does the white male, the only one not helped by affirmative action become the minority? Will it be my generations LEGACY to oppress the white male until they march to the white house and demand rights? I mean they deserve to be oppressed. Their grandpa's grandpa's grandpa's oppressed me. So we should punish the future. How noble.

For the people who think it is only minorities that are poor, come on!!! Not a whole lot of white people live in the hood, nope they live in trailor parks. White children's daddys and mommys leave, white children go to bad schools, white children go hungry, white children are abused. Its not a race thing its a human thing!!! Its time for the race gender card to be put away. Its not 100 years ago nor is it 50 years ago nor is it even 10 years ago...  Its today. Thank those who paved the way but make your life your own. Work for what you want and if you want something bad enough there is nothing in the world that can stop you. (unless you are a white male)

I have been out and about today in Blue Springs. Truth be told, I became a little upset. There are welcome back David Cook signs EVERYWHERE. I started thinking about how much media coverage he is getting and the soldiers, who REALLY deserve it,  aren't getting any upon their return. I saw two different news vans and a chopper around the area. My blood boiled! A man or woman who places their life on the line to protect us, AMERICANS, deserves parades, news interviews, and the upmost admiration!!! It is a sad day for me when a man who sings recieves more praise than those defending his right to do so!!!!

The U.S. Constitution is a secular document. It begins, "We the people," and contains no mention of "God" or "Christianity." Its only refers to religion are exclusionary, such as, "no religious shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust", and "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof".  The separation of church and state is a wonderful thing. It keeps the majority from pressuring the minority. What if any religion had the right to impose thier views on all? America wouldn't be America! It would be a horrible place if the majority held the divine right to tyrannize the minority on matters of religion.

Many state the Constitution came from the ten commandments. Not so. Many cultures long before the commandments did not believe in homicide or to lie. It is a fact many fail to realize. If Americans honored the commandment against coveting, free enterprise would collapse! Think about that. I think it is the conservatives who advocate free trade who are also majorly Christian. Interesting!

The Declaration of Independence purpose was to deal with laws, taxation, representation, war, immigration, and so on. Its authority is based on the idea that our government is made up of men, supposedly getting their power from the consent of the people which is contrary to the biblical concept of rule by divine right. The statements to Nature's God, Creator, and Divine Providence in the Declaration doen't endorse Christianity. Thomas Jefferson the author was a deist opposed to Christianity and the supernatural.

We all want the freedom to do as we like, but few of us are committed to allowing others to act contrary to our notion of right and wrong. Majorities have always sought and often found ways to impose their views upon minorities. The most vocal minorities have often been successful in imposing their will on the majority.  Who today expects a Constitutional fight over smoking, obesity, trans-fats, or any of the myriad personal issues now under the purview of government control?

America was founded on the belief that government power should be strictly limited, because the alternative to limited power was unlimited power. The framers of the Constitution were rightly concerned that without strict institutional barriers to the expansion of government powers there would eventually be no barriers at all. Power, in any form, longs to be absolute. Look now there are seemingly no limits on what government can regulate because we have accepted the notion that there are no limits to the benefits government can and should bestow upon us.

Americans have made a bargain with the devil. Dispensing with the idea of limited government in realm of benefits has meant dispensing with the idea of any limits to government power at all. Once we accept the notion that government should ensure that our pursuit of happiness succeeds, we have accepted the notion that government has the right to define what a happy life should look like. it is also the inevitable result of Americans increasing desire to have government guarante that more and more things in our lives turn out all right.

Limiting government power requires limiting the benefits that government can bestow upon us, and right now that seems a bridge too far for some Americans. It is the mentality the government owes us, we want it and we want it now. Perhaps they should listen to "ask not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country."

Just remeber   "A government big enough to give us everything we want is a government big enough to take it all away." --- not sure who said this

I have heard of a person leaving this blog because of constantly being bashed for his beliefs. I have seen some of the name calling going on and I find it a disgrace to your intellect and adulthood as well. These are also the same people wondering why children are the way they are today. Well, children learn what they live. If adults are unable to control themselves and debate without completely sabotaging someone with vile remarks, why would we expect anything less from our children?  People are able to say what they want, but dont whine when we see our children being just as vicious. Think about it before you respond and try to completely humilate me!!!
