The 7.8 magnitude earthquake that devastated Sichuan Province last week has elicited the enthusiastic response from Chinese people from around the world, joining hands together, to aid the quake survivors.

The amount of public support and activism is unprecedented in a nation that often times has been weary of such exponential support from others.

Mass mobilization and relief efforts are underway by non-governmental agencies, corporations, organizations and private individuals demonstrating their compassion for the earthquake survivors and their families.

This is sending a strong and positive message to Beijing which is touched by the outpouring of love by so many people throughout the world.

Record sums of money have been collected from oversea businesses and individuals, desiring to help rebuild the shattered lives of those affected by last weeks devastation.

Bao Shuming, a Senior Research Coordinator at the University of Michigan considers this to be a "significant turning point" for China, as people are becoming more educated and the Chinese society is increasingly becoming more open.

How you can help? The Chinese Red Cross Society is urgently seeking donations to help the survivors of last weeks devastating earthquake in Sichuan Province, you too can make a difference in the lives of others.

This is not just China we are talking about...but, COMMUNIST China.

By definition, a Communist country would require that everyone works together for the benefit of the collective and in China, this is not the case.

My relatives living in Shanghai, are employed by a major USA company and one of my best friends who I call my Xiao-mei, is employed in Shanghai for a different USA company and both are doing quite well for themselves.

Your point is then that people living under Socialism, don't deserve to recover from devastations of a natural disaster?

Oh I disaggree. Still the same ol' COMMUNIST CHINA where some are simply MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS. Communist China won't need any help, the Premier was out visiting the wreckage two days ago. He's cares so much about his people.

Hi Cristy!

I hope you and your husband's relatives in China are doing well in China, and staying safe. If something just as severe were to happen in the northeastern area of Japan, I would feel as passionate as you do now. I also have friends who have relatives in China, and I haven't been in touch to see if their relatives are doing well yet. I'm optimistic though, and I trust God to have kept their relatives safe.

Everyone: it's only a matter of time before communism falls in China; don't forget this. It's time to put politics aside for now, and if you have a tugging in your heart to donate and help out, listen to your heart and do the right thing, please! You never know when you will be the one who needs compassion and mercy one day.
