The above title is the exact thought I had this past weekend. While it was nice to get all that rain (close to 5 inches at TIA), I also found myself thinking this is too much to fast.  Thats what I love about Florida. You can be down 4-5 inches of rain for the year, and make up for that in a few hours. One thing you have to realize is that in terms of water storage, when it rains that hard, a lot of the rain runs offf and isn't absorbed as it should be. I would much  prefer several 1 inch rains instead of one big 5 inch storm. Of course since Saturday I have received the following question more than once. Hey Dave the droughts over huh? And I answer the question the same way which is no.  A drought is not created in one day, nor alleviated in one day. We would need several more months of above normal rainfall for the drought to officially be taken care of. But this past weekend was a start.
