Statue of Liberty is a stupid copper statue!

Once upon a time ago, it welcomed many people into this country, that wanted to come here to be Americans, and were willing to sacrifice everything to do that, and come here legally.

All my grandparents, paternal and maternal came here through Ellis Island, and were proud to be American, and I have nothing but pride in the way they came here and went through all the legal channels to gain the coveted American citizenship.

What does the statue mean today?  Nothing! We should pack it up and send it back to France!

Surprising coming from one that is French-Canadian eh? 

That statue today calls out to every illegal from ALL nationalitys to sneak into this country, and get benefits many American born citizens cannot get.

Including, but not limited to:

Free health care.

Welfare.

Food Stamps.

They can even get voting rights!

Does this statue really represent America anymore?

This statue has lost all meaning.

Am I wrong on this?

Well it certainly isn't holding up to what it's message intended.

And if BhussienO gets elected, it will be time to drop it. At that point the Georgia Guidestones will replace it as a national monument.

I don't think the Statue of Liberty, is at fault here. It is the people in charge of our Boarder Patrol Officers, not being allowed to do their jobs without having a fear of being put in prison. Did any one hear the report about Boarder Patrol Officers being killed? Someone needs to tell the people in charge, to let Boarder Patrol Officers shoot to kill. Our Politicians need to stop giving Illegals any rights to United State's Medicaid and Welfare.

Exactly right Gammies and I think,, and AGIAN,, I THINK,, that THAT is essentially what DF is getting at.. WITHOUT the Noble concept of National Sovereignty,, it's INVIOLATE Necessity and it's REVERED Stature with regard to LEGAL Immigration as OPPOSED to ILLEGAL Invasion,, the Statue of Liberty,, SO long an ICON of welcome for LEGAL Immigrants from around the world,, becomes NOTHING more then a WORTHLESS piece of Copper..


I have SEEN critics of HIS contention refer to the CONSTITUTION as TOILET PAPER for NO more then their IMAGINARY offenses and claims..

But SOMEHOW or other,,WE'RE supposed to CONDEMN DF as Unamerican while PRAISING them for their Imaginary Patriotism..

No OTHER country in the world allows illegal invaders to over run her boarders.
America, actually all countries, other than Egypt, the cradle of civilization, began with immigration.
However, somewhere along the way, countries became more sophisticated, provided education, common defense, laws, collected taxes, and found that they had to control immigration.
I still do not understand why both parties refuse to get rid of illegal invaders.
It would not cost tax money.
Just heavily fine anyone who is caught hiring illegals.
That is you deportation fund right there!

I wouldn't say DF is Anti-American, but he is placing blame of illegals bringing this country down, on an inanimate object. I could care less about a piece of copper. I could have cared less if they never had spent money on it, to make it look pretty. For all I care, they can sell the copper, and feed some people living in homeless shelters. As long as they're U.S. citizens. The Statue of Liberty still represents "Legal Immigrants".
