This may seem as an easy question. But I do not only want to hear your choice of your favorite driver. I want to hear  WHY they are your favorite!

Who is your favorite NASCAR driver?

Why are they your favorite NASCAR driver?

Answer both questions please.

I am curious.

Denny Hamlin...he learns quickly and is a true go getter, he's young and has proven to be up there with the more experienced big boys! He kinda reminds me of my other favorite, Davey Allison!

My other two is Tony Stewart and Dale Jr., they both speak for themselves on why!

Jr, Denny, M Martin & Tony...Jr because he is his fathers son, Denny because he is a very good driver, Mark Martin because he is just PURE CLASS and should have won the Championship by now, he also is willing teach the new guys the right way to race, get a fan base and be all they can be...Tony, because of his Bad Boy ways and he can drive too...

Right now, Jimmie Johnson. But my all time favorite is Rusty Wallace. But I have a lot more favorites.

My reasons both drivers are legends. Jimmie Johnson might not be too much now. But when he's done he will be a legend. Rusty Wallace is a true legend.

No one will ever come close to Dale sr. but I started out as a Harry Gant fan. Now I'd say Jr. is making hendrick competitive again. I just hope when Stewart goes to his own team he goes back to a Chevy...maybe then he'll win again

I was born a Richard Petty fan even though I never saw him win a race. He is still a hero of mine. In 1997, I met Jeremy Mayfield and he took the time to learn my name, take pictures with me, that i lost in a fire when I was 14, and he let me sit with him as he signed autographs at the K-mart in Daytona. My parents were talking to him as well and he won their respect. I will always be a Jeremy Mayfield fan and everytime I see him in Daytona, he knows who I am. That always makes me feel good. Now that Jeremy isn't racing, I have started to like David Regan. I met him in 2007 at the AAA tent outside the track and he was really cool. I also took a pic with him and talked to him for about 15 minutes. Very nice guy. He is only six months older then me. I have seen a lot of improvment in him. My fiancee was never into NASCAR til we started dating. She worked for Target so in 2004 she picked the Target driver, Casey Mears. We have met Casey a few times and I got to say he knows how to treat his fans. A few other drivers like him at Carl Edwards, Jeff Burton, and Tony Stewart (Who I've seen many times. He took his time to talk to one of my fiancee's friends who is blind about he seeing eye dog. Nothing touches you like seeing someone as big as Tony listen to this womans story and shead a few tears.) There are a few drivers who are not on my favorites list because of how badly they treat their fans. Like Dale Jr, Jimmie Johnson, and Rusty Wallace's son, Steven.

Well, you make a very good point plum. It is hard to be a fan of someone that has no respect for thier fans.

I have to agree. If you get too big in your own mind that you do not respect your fans, they will soon be gone.

No one likes to be snubbed. I wonder how thier sponsors feel about that behavior.

I am surprised about Tony. NASCAR's bad boy has a heart of gold. Who whoulda thought?

Richard Petty.. hands down... yeah I know he doesn't driver anymore.. already hear that.. But they Don't Call him "THE KING" for no reason. To me he is Nascar. If ever there comes a time that there isn't a Petty car in the field of Nascar.. there will no longer be a fan of Nascar. He made Nascar along with many other drivers.. ever wonder what happened to some of the old drivers.. i'm going way back here.. Harry Gant "The Bandit' Gary Balou, Old sponsors with JD Stacy who owned a number of cars in the earlier 80's. before there were multiple car teams. Cale, They just seemed to disappear. Go my 43 car..

plum 19 has a fabulous point......the way the drivers treat the fans is huge!

I like lots of the drivers...had never really liked Kyle Petty. We took our boys, then about 7 & 3, to one of the events at New Smyrna Speedway probably 7-8 years ago. A bunch of drivers were there, we stood in long lines to get the kids their autographs. Casey Atwood was nice & spoke a little he seemed shy if anything....heck he wasnt all that much older than the boys at that time! ....but John Andretti would not even stop his coversation long enough to look at them.

The big shock to me was Kyle Petty, he talked WITH both of my boys! Actually looked at them like he cared about what these 2 little boys though & said!

That is how fans are kept!
