No one is more qualified to be our next Commander in Chief than John McCain!

A brief history of his sacrifice can be found here:

Anyone that reads this and still believes he is not qualified to lead the most  powerful military in the world, is ignorant beyond belief!

He CLEARLY demonstrates that there is a WORLD of DIFFERENCE between Education and INDOCTRINATION..

AND,,

His refusal to acknowledge McCain's act of Heroism on the Basis of an argument that it was McCain's "Choice" clearly shows that NEITHER Education NOR Indoctrination are a CURE for Stupidity..

CHOICE is the ESSENTIAL ingrediant and a NECESSARY prelude for ANY act of Heroism...

Didn't he get caught by the enemy and sing like a canary in the face of death?

hmmm... I think the real heroes were the boys the saved his ass from that POW camp.

Funny TT that is the opposite of the record as documented by both other POW's and his captors IF he had blabbed as you say he would have been released ...some gal trying to discredit McCain like that blue-boy.
As far the current attempt to disgrace McCain/the WOT/and this country I think the DNC has hit an all time low ...if this attitude persists it will no longer be a “political divide” between left and right it will come to a new revolution between the “separationist” (the left) and the “Traditionalists” ..it is no longer a question of “how much tax is to much” and “what can we spend that tax on” it is a question of the survival of this nation at all

McCain broke BOTH of his arms and his right knee ejecting over Hanoi on one of the FIRST Missions AGAINST the War Machine in Hanoi that was allowed by Politicians and Political HACK Generals ( like Wesley Clark ) and Admirals running the war from Washington..

By the time this mission was ordered,, Hanoi possessed the most EXTENSIVE anti-air Defense Syetem KNOWN to Man complete with Russian State of the Art equipment ..

MORE Navy A-4 Skyhawks,, such as McCain Flew,, and Air Force F-105s Thunderchiefs ( Known as THUDS ) were shot down by the enemy then ANY other American Aircraft…

McCain,, landed in a lake WITHIN the city of Hanoi itself and was IMMEDIATELY Bayonetted in the Leg and Groin upon his Capture….He HADN’T even FACED his Torturers yet..SO,,,

Before you start running your mouth about other people’s experiences,, tough guy,, maybe you should put yourself in their shoes…

I got a feeling that YOU’D have started Blabbing before you even got finished spitting the lake water out of your mouth…

When I was a little girl, my Momma used to have me pray for her friend "Johnnie McCain," as she called him. His best friend's husband, had all ready been killed in action, while trying to land his fighter plane on an aircraft carrier. All she would tell me was that he was missing, and then later that he was being held as a prisoner. I was too young to understand it all. I wave a really old picture of my Momma in the wedding picture of her friend, the pilot who was killed, and John McCain. (John McCain was a Groomsman, my Momma was a Bridesmaid) It was taken in 1958 or 1959.
I believe it should be a prerequisite to being President of the US, that you have combat experience in the military. How else will you know, other than being "told" how to lead your country at wartime?

Well Deb.. IMO, combat experience may not be necessary for the civilian side of our defense department. The typical question of military service is just a testiment to what such a person would do if faced with physically defending the nation. I'm pretty sure for example Mitt Romney or Rudy would have no problem with it.

Its the old debate: Can only another drug abuser or alcoholic actually help others with drug or alcohol problems... some say "walking in their shoes" helps.. others say not.

That SHOULD have said, "her best friend's husband"

It depends on the PERSON as much,, or even MORE,, then does the experience..

Military Service may NOT be required as in the case of Reagan and the fall of the Soviet Union and may make NO difference at ALL as in the Case of John Kerry and Wesly Clark..

When you get right down to it,, MOST of Bush's Critics don't EVEN seem to KNOW that the War with Saddam has been over for 4 YEARS,,Let ALONE know who we're fighting NOW..

OBAMA'S ONE OF THEM...

He seems to think that Afghanistan and Iraq are TWO different Wars involving TWO different Enemies..

In HIS case a LACK of Military experience is a DETRIMENT although I suspect that such experience would still NOT qualify him to lead our troops..

Abunai & Hawk, Just my opinion. I would no more know about strategic military maneuvers than the squirrels in my Oak Trees, so all I'm saying is that I think in order for someone to be a "Leader" in that capacity, I believe, with experience comes knowledge. At least, hopefully one learns that way. Oh Snap! Am I making ANY sense at all?

RandyLoo - I agree! He(college boy) read something in a book, now he's qualified...hey, that's all it's taking for Obama to run the country, right?

Obama was typical in Iraq; riding the fence...claims he would get troops out in 16 months...claims he and Iraq are on the same page about this...yet, Iraqi folks claimed he didn't mention that during his visit...

Yes,,of COURSE you are..It STANDS to reason that someone who has "Walked in their Shoes" would have a greater understanding of the people that he leads not to mention the variable situations that they will face..

This is SO much more IMPORTANT these days now that the military does NOT seem to be as appreciated as it once was,,, say,,right after WWII...

Maybe I should be president since I've served in two wars. Being in the military doesn't make one an expert on neither does it gives one better judgment to be the president of the United States. To me, McCain has a need to reclaim his failure in Viet Nam by being a war hog for the Iraq war. I think he has repressed PTSD issues and he’s willing to use our young soldiers as surrogates to his own super ego.

Well khazzi, you are probably much more qualified than Obama!

McCain's failure in Viet Nam? Are you nuts?
