Tales of the DVK

What a great day to be a gamer!

7-11, after weeks of promoting the Simpsons movie, is scheduled to begin receiving and stocking Halo 3 merchandise.

Side note since I'm certain not all of you are gamers: Halo is a game for the Xbox produced by Bungie Studios (now owned by Microsoft Game Studios). Long story short, Master Chief is a cybernetic space Marine fighting a race of aliens known as the Covenant, and the two forces collectively are fighting a parasitic race known as the Flood.

But back to 7-11.
Merchandise will include special-edition Halo 3 Slurpee cups, as well as specially packaged Doritos and Mountain Dew (which, as any gamer knows, is a nutritionally balanced gaming meal! kidding, kidding...). If you're not a gamer then this is not big deal but if you are then you may be getting a little hungry. Me, I could go for a Slurpee. I haven't had one since... um... Halo 2!

This is all in preparation for the impending release of Halo 3 on September 25th. Gotta have plenty of caffeine and snacks when picking up a pre-ordered Legendary Edition copy at the midnight release, right? We gamers seem to have an odd habit of standing in line for things at midnight...

As I write this I understand how superfluous it all must seem to someone who is not a gamer, someone who prefers Playstation, etc. But the thing about life is this: You have to find your own happiness, great or small. If there is something that interests you and/or excites you then why not let yourself get carried away? Why not let every little thing be an occasion for anticipation and adventure?

Just the thoughts of this humble gamer girl, eagerly in search of a Slurpee cup.

I like how you put that; Why not let every little thing be an occassion for anticipation and adventure? I could also go for a Slurpee cup. That would go great with this heatwave. Take care.

yeah halo is a cool game. i think it's a lil bit to easy to beat due to the unlimited lives. but it's pretty cool. just wish the aliens were meaner looking and more blood. other then that it's cool. but if i play it too much, it makes me dizzy and makes me feel like throwing up. but it's worth it.

Personally I'm getting an x-box 360 for rock band, but Halo 3 will be pretty sweet.

Eddie - Good to hear from you again! I have been described as an eternal optimist. I think if a person is determined to find excitement then excitement will be found.

Samo - some of the other FPS's out there give me that same dizzy feeling after a while. Time Splitters 2 was always really bad for me, which sucked because it was a fun game. No problems with Halo though. As for the blood and gore, there could be more but too much would be distracting like in those Kill Bill movies.

Frank - I had not heard of Rock Band until now. The description of it on xbox.com sounds awesome, like Guitar Hero times 4. I can't believe how many games are coming out that have specialized controllers.
