Offensive board game or not

    Once in a while as an anchor you read things on the air you wish you hadn't. Take this story for instance.  Its about a new board game thats popular at a feed store in Sweet Home, Oregon and is being sold at Toys R Us and Amazon Dot Com. Its called the 'Game of Redneck Life'. The story reads as follows: Players can do things like pick a career, pick a place to live and choose a car to drive. Players lose teeth through accidents and brawls. After all is said and done, the player with the most teeth left wins. The creator is a self-proclaimed redneck.'

    I'm outraged and offended. What about you?

Sounds like a typical "Redneck" neighborhood to me!

But I will defer to Freak for confirmation as I don't live in a manufactured doublewide.

What says the Freak? Is that how it is in the hood?

Well, gosh by golly and dern it! I'm gonna run on out and git me one o them there games. Just kidding! I'm really amazed at some of the things people come up with. Needless to say, my children won't be playing this one.

You get outraged and offended easy then huh? Sounds more like a game about hocky players!*lol* What's so offencive? Mocking rednecks? Who cares!? We are so quick these days to not offend anyone that simple humor is lost. Before long, you wont be able to tell the old joke that starts "A white guy, a black guy and a oriental guy go into a bar..."
Wait...you cant tell that one already. Guess it's too late for humor, unless you are the Wayans Brothers dressing up as "White Chicks". People need to grow thicker skins and stop being outtaged and offended so easliy!

By the way, I found the Wayans Brothers quite funny and I'm white. But I do have that thicker skin I talked about.

Hey Denise, if you are offended by the Redneck game, then I know you are going to be outraged by the "Ghettopoly" game that is out there. This game is set up like Monopoly but you buy crack houses and slums and there are hookers, dope dealers, guns, etc.

Please Denise, give me a break. Why so sensitive? What has it got to do with you? I find the concept amusing.

I am prepared to change my view when Reverend Al Sharpton jumps to the defense of White folks that have been wronged.

This is still the USA. You have the right not to play the game. Lighten up.

Again, anything sells these days... I'm with Vit, there are a lot of other issues people should be more worried about....

With all due respect, Denise, I have to agree with the others.

Are you offended by Jeff Foxworthy (he pulls in good ratings for your network, does he not?) and Larry the Cable Guy?

This game, admittedly in bad taste, pokes fun at the REDNECKS.

And, yes Gary, I agree with Mmustangg, Dr. Paul was the bomb!

I'm a redneck and damned proud of it girl.

My favorite show is now the "Big Redneck Wedding"

Real Rednecks are not at all offended by humor or jokes...they wear it as a badge of honor. Too bad other groups can't lighten up a bit....no pun intended.

As for you circa and Frank...you both are disgusting pieces of bigot slime.

YD, I watch Redneck Weddings too. My hubby said I was the only one in the country that watched that stupid show. Hubby was wrong once again. There is just something about a bride and groom in camos..jumping on a trail buggy and taking off into the wind..after they have gone muddin, shot a few hogs, and drank about a case of PBR.

Nice ATTEMPT at an insult, but we moved into our new site-built home about two-and-a-half years ago after our "manufactured doublewide" was destroyed by Hurricane Jeanne. But thanks for asking.

Chris, I understand your desire to protect the "decorum" of the blog, but leaving the hateful and ignorant comments for all to see is the most effective means of exposing these cretins to the light of day.

Bigots and bullies cannot tolerate exposure of their corrupt character..
