This question was asked this weekend by Liz Habib after the Angels and Dodgers game.

She asked "If players are sitting in the dug out and they run to the field to participate in a fight, should they be suspended?"

People were allowed to call in, but I would like to know the views of others. What do you think?

My View: I feel that they should NOT be suspended, but should have to pay a fine for the fact that if they are all involved, games may get canceled due to everyones suspension.

I have to add, one guy that had called in was way off topic........Liz, I would have hung up on him.......next caller please!

This week I'm officially hanging up my pantalones (pants) and bringing out the shorts. Out here in the desert southwest "Califas" the weather is beginning to change on us.

Growing up a native to this small and wonderful town of "Blythe" myself as well as many others prepare ourselves for the dreaded summer that awaits us. Even before the summer season begins you see the gente from the community out here trying to beat the heat. The fellas with our knee cut dickie shorts, no shirts, some flossing their tattooed chests and arms walking around like a master piece of that of "Mr. Cartoon" with their 64 oz. ounce cup of fresh iced cold water. The ladies, with their tank top spaghetti strap shirts, their short shorts wearing their flip-flops sporting as little as possible to keep cool during our summer months.

Our summers out here can reach temperatures of 120 degrees, and that's on a good day. On days such as these, the gente from the community gather as they make their way to enjoy the cool currents of the Colorado river, a river that separates Califas from Arizona.

Like our ancestors before us, we've learned how to adapt to this hot climate area during the hot summer months that will and is beginning to approach us slowly but surely. So as I begin to hang up mis pantalones, I will remember the cool winter and spring months as the scorching heat begins to takes affect on my desert community.

I GOT THIS IN AN E-MAIL AND I'M PASSING IT ALONG [Thumbs up]

ENJOY!

I love it when the little guy strikes back!

A little background: Neiman-Marcus, if you don't know already, is a very
expensive store; i.e., they sell your typical $8.00 T-shirt for $50.00.
Let's let them have it! THIS IS A TRUE STORY!

My daughter and I had just finished a salad at a Neiman-Marcus Cafe in
Dallas , and we decided to have a small dessert. Because both of us are
such cookie lovers, we decided to try the"Neiman-Marcus cookie."

It was so excellent that I asked if they would give me the recipe, and
the waitress said with a small frown, "I'm afraid not, but you can buy the
recipe."

Well, I asked how much, and she responded, "Only two fifty-it's a great
deal!" I agreed to that, and told her to just add it to my tab. Thirty days
later, I received my VISA statement, and the Neiman-Marcus charge was
$285.00! I looked again, and I remembered I had only spent $9.95 for two
salads and about $20.00 for a scarf. As I glanced at the bottom of the
statement, it said, "Cookie Recipe-$250.00". That was outrageous!

I called Neiman's Accounting Department and told them the waitress said
it was "two fifty", which clearly does not mean "two hundred and fifty
dollars" by any reasonable interpretation of the phrase.

Neiman-Marcus refused to budge.

They would not refund my money because, according to them, "What the
waitress told you is not our problem. You have already seen the recipe. We
absolutely will not refund your money at this point." I explained to the
Accounting Department lady the criminal statutes which govern fraud in the
state of Texas . I threatened to report them to the Better Business Bureau
and the Texas Attorney General's office for engaging in fraud.

I was basically told, "Do what you want. Don't bother thinking of

How you can get even, and don't bother trying to get any of your money
back." I just said, "Okay, you folks got my $250, and now I'm going to have
$250 worth of fun." I told her that I was going to see to it that every
cookie lover in the United States with an e-mail account has a $250 cookie
recipe from Neiman-Marcus...for free. She replied, "I wish you wouldn't do
this."

I said, "Well, perhaps you should have thought of that before you ripped
me off!" and slammed down the phone. So here it is! Please, please, please
pass it on to everyone you can possibly think of. I paid $250 for this, and
I don't want Neiman-Marcus to EVER make another penny off of this recipe!

NEIMAN-MARCUS COOKIES (Recipe may be halved)
2 cups butter
24 oz. chocolate chips
4 cups flour
2 cups brown sugar
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups sugar
1 - 8 oz. Hershey Bar (grated)
5 cups blended oatmeal
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)

Measure oatmeal, and blend in a blender to a fine powder. Cream the
butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix together with flour,
oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Add chocolate chips, Hershey Bar, and nuts. Roll into balls, and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Makes 112 cookies.

PLEASE READ THE RECIPE AND SEND IT TO EVERY PERSON YOU KNOW WHO HAS AN E-MAIL ADDRESS! THIS IS REALLY TERRIFIC!!
Even if the people on your e-mail list that don't eat sweets send it to
them and ask them to pass it on. Let's make sure we get these ladies
$250.00 worth. Enjoy the cookies, they are good....

Last week I went out to Indio to take care of some business. On my way home I decided to stop in Coachella since my daughters birthday was coming up, I went by the indoor swapmeet to pick her up a piƱata. Y de una ves, bought myself a big bag of churritos.

When I was done, I decided to have lunch before I hit the I-10 eastbound back home to Blythe. I seen this little mexican seafood restuarant in the shopping center called "Camaron Pelao" so I decided to try it out. They had a very appetizing menu, everything looked good. Looking over the menu for a few minutes while enjoying my half dozen of oysters I decided to get the "Camarones al Mojo de Ajo" and let me tell you they were great! I recommend this place to anyone that visits Coachella. It's located in the Coachella Shopping Center.

Recipe for: Camarones al Mojo de Ajo
13 cloves garlic, cracked away from skins
4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 to 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 1/2 pounds, 30 pieces, jumbo shrimp, peeled and de-veined (ask for easy peel shrimps)
1 teaspoon coarse salt

-Process garlic in food processor or finely chop.
-Heat a large skillet over medium high heat.
-Add oil .
-Add garlic and crushed pepper flakes to oil.
-Season shrimp with salt and toss to coat.
-Add shrimp to the pan and cook, stirring frequently, until pink and heads curl to tails.

Desert_Chicano

I'm a 32 year old Chicano from the desert area. Therefore I've chosen Desert Chicano as my name. I'm a chef and I enjoy doing what I do. I've chosen this profession because I'm able to express myself as well as satisfy those who enjoy my dishes. Some may say that I just enjoy playing with fire. Although I've lived in the Los Angeles area for sometime, I decided to return back to the desert to avoid all that LA traffic that can really irritate a person (road rage). The weather out here is nice and during the summer we can enjoy the pleasure of the Colorado river that flows through here dividing California from Arizona. Despite the heat, I love it out here. Bueno pues that is it for me. If you'd like to know anything else just hit me up!
