Did you hear?? Halliburton may be moving its headquarters to Dubai! I was just there...

Ok, so this photo of me on a "rickshah" was taken in Taxila, Pakistan...just before traveling to Dubai.

And this photograph is of my henna tattoo drawn on my left hand while visiting Lahore, Pakistan. We will definitely talk about these adventures at another time..(especially the "rickshah" trip..those things are fun, and the cab driver as you see in the pic, he was enjoying being a passenger for once!)

... Ok, but on a serious note...please follow this link for the full story... we gotta talk about the Halliburton drama.

Nice Porsche huh...there is a lot of money in Dubai!

This guy I thought was too cool...I had to snap an impromptu pic of his "sheik-ness"...

The word about Dubai is that it is considered to be the "Las Vegas" of the Middle East.

It's very different than your traditional Islamic nation...you see in Dubai one example is how hotel restaurants and nightclubs sell alcohol (remember in the Muslim world, alcohol is prohibited).

Just look at the architecture of the mosques...they are simply breathtaking!

Ok, now look at a map, and you'll find Dubai is situated very close to several Middle Eastern countries the U.S. Government considers an enemy or an ally of Al Qaeda. Do you think Halliburton, who has a military contract with the U.S. Government may be getting to close for comfort with our "opponents"? The other question many ask is whether Halliburton is simply trying avoid U.S. laws, including tax laws? I am curious to know what you think? And if you are concerned, are you doing anything about it? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

P.S. We rented a car while out there..sorry folks, traffic jams exist in all parts of the world
...but nice highways, oh and driving was NO more treacherous than driving in downtown LA. :)

Cheers

-ee

great pic's liz, as for the topic. hmm well from what i read about Halliburton, they seem to be the type that is willing to do anything they could to make a buck. they made alot of money profiteering on our current war. i wouldnt be surprised if advoiding our tax laws is the main reason they are leaving. they are a greedy company. as for being too close for comfort. well who knows, they might work with the enemy since they seem to want to advoid us like the plague now.

Elizabeth,

That first picture is hilarious. That someone seems not out of the realm of things that you'd do, considering your often wacky personality on the air.

I think we have to wait and see to find out why Halliburton is moving to Dubai. If it's for tax reasons, you can't really be too upset, a lot of business relocate for various reasons that concern the bottom line.

Plus from the looks of the place, Dubai probably looks better than where they are now.

Dear Elizabeth,

I like your photos...I mean they are really great. What a fantastic experience. And you brought back some of Dubai (something out of the Jetsons) and shared it with the rest of us.

You're a doll.

Those photos would be much more interesting if you went there with me.

Fox11newsreporter,

Who is this? Love your e-mailaddress!!!

Ugandagirl,

You rock! I am so proud of your countless accomplishments to raise awareness of the children in Uganda who continue to live in turmoil and extreme poverty, in the middle of a 20 yr old civil war. This, like Darfur needs to STOP now..these people may not be American, but more im

Dear Elizabeth,,,
I just saw your video that was taken in El Salvador and i was amazed and so happy on how you express yourself about EL Salvador. Me being from the " pulgarsito " fo the world im honored from being fomr such a small country. Im gonna admit that my eyes where getting watery from such kindness words and how you speak with a smile and the alegria that you have in your eyes. The tropical weather that el salvador offers is so much relaxing even tho the lighting and the thunder play such musical role for our ears to admire it is still beautiful. Thank you so much for such kind words.

Hi Elizabeth,

I am posting a comment for a different reason. Two days ago my wife lost the diamond out of her wedding ring. We got married 3 years ago in Thousand oaks. We bought the ring at Robbins Bros., in canoga park. They told us that as long as the ring has been cleaned in the last 6 months they would replace it. Not of that was true. My wife went to the store to get it replaced the rules changed. They said they now need to ship it to corpoate as it is out of their hands. Corporate called my wife today and said "that it looks like the diamond may have been forced out"!!! My wife is devastated because of the holidays ect. Any chance a story like this might interest someone. I know it not world problem but it is very unfair. You may contact me or send any info to my email. ty@picturemill.com Thank you so much for your time.

A viewer.

Tyle
