Hi everybody!  So...is this "May grey" weather getting to you?  I need some SUN...I think I have had enough of the cloud cover!  I ran into Dickert the other day and asked him for more sunshine! ;)  Well at least for the areas along the coast...it has been super cloudy and lots chillier than for those of you inland (lucky).

So, what do you say?  What kind of weather are you experiencing? What are you looking forward to...a scorcher, or more cloud cover?  Talk to you soon!!

:)

I like the cooler weather myself. It was a clear, "hotter then I like" day here. Though we do have a nice cool breeze going now :)

I mainly don't like the heat in the Inland Empire because the smog gets worse.YUCK!! I live in the foothills so it is a little cooler here, but having the new 210 freeway has been a mixed blessing because the air has noticeably
gotten worse.

We also need some rain, because the mountains are so dry, and the poor wild animals need the water. We also don't need anymore fires that the hot dry weather brings.

Now oddly enough, the humid heat back east doesn't bother me at all...maybe because the air is cleaner and it is so pretty and green.

Comfie...

Rain is a much needed commodity for us these days...so strange, remember last year? We had soo much rain, now..nada!

Dfdeportation...

Global warming...some say it should be scorching hot already...but Cali usually gets the May gray, then it's headed to June gloom...and by August, yeah, we will probably be slathering the sunscreen on for protection!

Actually Elizabeth, Southern California during this time of year, this is quite typical of the weather here. I have a name for the icky cloud cover. I officially call it "Mach Schnell Cucamonga" weather, don't know why, but the term seems appropriate.

The term June Gloom has been around as far as SoCal has and than July and smog kick in. Did you know that Spanish explorer San Fernando originally witnessed smog hundreds of years ago. Smog is created by the sentineled, mighty, San Gabriel Mountains that repress air into a compressed state in the L.A. Basin. Most folks don't really know this. Yeah factories and motor vehicles do contribute some, but smog has always been around as has the "Mach Schnell Cucamonga" weather, and it isn't changing anytime soon.

Honestly, as you head North or East from the Metropolitan Los Angeles area (towards the real Cucamonga) the weather clears up pretty quickly. Go to the high desert and its sunny skies where you can see forever!

Hi Elizabeth!
Rick must've gotten right on your request because this 3-day weekend is gorgeous!
Life feels so beautiful when the weather is like this.
I haven't a care in the world. I can't wait to head out on my story & catch some more rays - skin cancer be darned! (I'm wearing sunscreen just in case :)

I am enjoying this weather because I work outdoors in Laguna Hills and getting too much sun is not good on the skin. I like it cool because I have more energy and I don't get sunburn. I'm looking out for skin cancer.

Bueno Elizabeth, queres SUN, come out to Blythe there is plenty of it out here. Pero I gots to warn you, there's HEAT involved. The temperatures out this way have reached the triple digits.

It will begin to get hotter, pero the good thing is that we have the Colorado river running through here (It separates Califas and Arizona) so we manage to keep cool.

Enjoy your week loca!

Well proudly, San Fernando was a Spanish explorer and he is who the San Fernando Valley is named after, just like General Pico...Pico Boulevard or Commodore San Pedro. L.A. is rich in Spanish history, you probably didn't know that Mexican's who were a majority in Los Angeles in the 1800's had Bear Bull fights from captured Grizzly Bears tethered to the Bull. Usually a ratio of about 5 bulls to one bear before the poor creature expired.

The Azusa Dwarte Water wars, there is tremendous history here. I am authoring a future manuscript that will have fictionalized accounts of this, probably will be my 25th novel if I last long enough??? Just finished my 19th and still going.

Yes on the One Worder list you are listed as "Spicy" which is like the singular version of "Hot Stuff" and Suzanna Marques got "Chilied" which is another version of "Hot Stuff"... I can just see PaulD licking his chops over that list, though I am sure a few will not like Tony McEwing his term is "Cameled" so I better tread lightly.

May-June Gloom is typical for the southland always has been.

I can remember in the early 60's when almost every weekend my Pop drove me from West L.A. to Long Beach to go on the rides at NuPike

http://www.sebar.com/rct3/nupike.html

And I can vividly remember it was always gloomy right up until we got to the NuPike and than the clouds seemed to break. The Valley and the High Desert or Agoura North were always clearing.

Hi Elizabeth,
First of all,You are adorable.
For me it's like cloudy or rainy days are depressing .I used to live in Europe, couldn't bare the cold. I Love the sunny weather here..that was one of the main reasons why I moved to the US.
One more thing to add !! I see you lost a lot of weight, you look gorgeous by the way. I also like your smile.
God Bless

Hi everybody...

Been slammed at work lately, but as always I LOVE to hear from you all! I learn so much about the city from poet Sebar, Samo keeps me smiling with his sense of humour, desert chicano keeps me "gente", eddiefella makes me blush, dasvics is ONE...love her compassion to end poverty, and last but not least on this blog newcomer at least in my blogs, Seda and RuchelleQ...welcome and thanks for the compliments, shucks, I am blushing again. :)

But really-- I want more sun...especially because standing outside in the ealry a.m. june gloom feels like fall. It is not warm, so plz don't think I have "lost it" when you tune in and see me wrapped in a scarf while you are nice and toasty at home or in your office. :) Seriously, I have been sneaking in my sandals, but it's too cold! My toes are frozen in the a.m. out there...ok, I am not complaining, just "zenning" about it...hee-hee :)
