Our Founding Fathers spoke "wise and serious truths", Here is a few wise words that may surprise you.

"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away men's initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves."

Reflecting on not only President Lincoln's quote alone... Likewise, other Founding Fathers have said many great things as well. Its amazing American history and politics pretty much come full circle.

I agree with your posting quoting Abraham Lincoln and listing him as a Founding Father, and how things come full circle. I feel you should have gone back even farther to President Adams a signer of our Declaration Independence who had the U.S. Congress insert into the treaty of Tripoli that the Republic of the United States in not a Christian Nation. There are too many people claiming the U.S.A was founded as a Christian Nation and not a Nation for all the people of all religions or of no religion.
