What is news? Well, in the definition stated above, it is a report of recent events.
Some people watch the news briefly before leaving for work, wondering what type of traffic jams are on their route to work. Or they could be wondering if their baseball game will get rained out, so they watch the weather. But then you have the people that sit down and watch the news, wanting to know the recent events.
Knowing what has happened or is happening in this world is a good thing. You are informed, and you may be able to inform more people who don't know.
You may be wondering what the reason is behind me writing this blog, but keep reading...
Awhile ago I was presented a topic to write an essay for. I had only about 25 minutes to write something about the topic. But I know that there is more to it. The topic was something like: Many things are reported in the news and in the newspapers, but what things do you consider important, and what is not important in the news. Basically, what things in the news do you find important, what things do not find important.
So what things are important to me, that air on the news? Well most of it I find important. For example, the war in Iraq, the presidential race, and local news. All of those things are important to be aware of.
But what about the not important stuff? Well. for one, I don't care if celebrities get drunk, get in a car, get a DUI, and get in jail. You don't have to plaster the celebrities faces on the TV ever time they have a baby. This may not happen alot, but I am sure there is more meaningful new to report. I understand that FOX does the American Idol stuff. But I just don't like it when people are labeled as "perfect people" and have every error reported on the news.
What I am just wondering if anyone is dis-satisfied/satisfied with the news being reported. Why? What types of things should be in the news, what things shouldn't be on the news. Is the news fine? Should there be changes in what is reported? How do you feel?
Also understand that news stations have a time limit.
Sorry it this post sounds weird, I was just wanted to post it somewhere, plus sorry if I rambled to much.

My dad and I recently picked up the rental car for our vacation.
The lady at the desk said that there we scratches on the back, we
couldn't find any. We opened up and looked at the inside. The good
thing was that it didn't smell like pot. Then we got in and drove away
from the rental place. While on the road, my dad and I went through the
Pacifica, figuring out the buttons and stuff. Well, the seats were
somewhat dirty. The cup holders, don't get me started. When we got
home, we opened all the doors and I started cleaning it. The windows
were covered in water spots, the only windows that seemed to be cleaned
the best were the rear view mirrors. In the back seat it seemed as
though someone spilled a little bit of bleach on the floor, plus there
was a big purple stain under the drivers seat.
I went in and
cleaned almost the whole inside of the car. I begged my dad so I could
was the outside, also covered in water spots. But he said no.
What I don't get is why wasn't it cleaned properly at the rental place? Aren't they supposed to?
What do you think?

In my English class the teacher gave the assignment to pick a social issue in today's times and present it. I later asked him if I could build a website as the presentation part and if I could combine two social issues. He said yes. Now I ask, that you give me your opinions about the social issues of Drugs, Drug Abuse & Drunk Driving.
Having just taken the DATE class so that I can obtain my permit, I have absorbed some facts and statistics, although the workbook we got was copyrighted in 1998. According to the class, in 4 hours about 12 single-car crashes will happen in Florida. Also in 30 min. someone will die in a accident caused by a drunk driver.
We touched a bit on Drugs and how people abuse them and how some people are trying to legalize some illegal ones. The instructor said that some states have legalized some illegal ones for medical purposes, but the crime rate has gone up. I guess that I will have to look further into this issue.
If you have any information that you would like to share, please do so. We might learn something that we might not know. Also feel free to express your opinions about these issues or bring up some that you think needs some attention. I may look into it and put it in my project, of course I will credit those who will help. :D
Thank you!

I have roamed the internet for as long I can remember, at least since my family bought a computer. And some things have begun to bother me in the blogs here at myfoxtampabay.
I have been a member at many forums and some things here cannot compare. Here I wish to list some things that annoy me, and some things that are really nice.
Posting
- The first thing that annoys me is the reply area. IT'S TO SMALL!!
- The formating when creating a post in a blog is pretty nice, how about adding one to the reply area.
About Me area
- Can there be line breaks please!
- How about links inside?
- I also keep getting a "Whoops!" message.
Avatar Image
- That is a pretty nice avatar making thingy you got there. I like it.
- How about adding an extra area where we can upload a fixed size avatar. Since your avatar making thingy makes the images to a size of 120 px x 90 px. I uploaded my avatar, the "Good 4 You, I don't care", which I made to the exact size of 120x90. It was hard trying to put it in the avatar making thingy, and make it look right in the end.
Other
- Internal communication system would be nice. (private messages)
- Maybe emoticons......
These are just a few for now. These are some of the things that I wish could change,,, Actually I am giving my ideas and suggestions to the people who run the blog area. Maybe the MySpace team needs some help....
If you have any complaints or complements, feel free to share your ideas about the community/blog area. I would like to hear them.

Mini Skirts. -MY OPINION
When is it to young or to old to wear one? Pinellas county system made it clear all skirts must be mid-thigh. So what is stoping the rest of the population from humility?
First of all, keep the mini skirts off the 5 year olds, better yet don't wear them until you are 18. Teens and kids should not flaunt their stuff. But once you hit a certain age and don't have the body or appearance to do so, stop wearing them.
Even though I am a teenager I have many issues with fashion in the teen world. But this one seems to hit a broader range.
Let's start with the younger generation. LITTLE GIRLS ARE TO INNOCENT TO BE WEARING A MINI SKIRT!! THEY ARE NOT A DOLL!!
The teenagers... Stop looking trashy. If you feel the need to wear one, slap oneself. If you want to get hit on, be my guest.
Now me and my mom agree that once one turns 18 that they can have the mini skirt. They have reached "adulthood" and can buy what ever they want.
But once you hit an older age... Wearing a mini skirt can make other people talk. But if you have the body and appearance, go ahead, wear that skirt.
Just want to voice my ideas and I know people can wear what they want. (Kinda like a free speech kinda thing)
What do you think?
