Have you hear that Vitoria's Secret is coming out with a new line of negligee named after his highness, Barack Osama?
Like the lord himself, you can see right through the negligee. They're taking advance orders, ladies? Get it while it's hot!
Politically Correct?

I don't like to cross-post but I thought that this was worthy of posting on both sites. Received via e-mail:
The following is the 2007 winning entry from an annual contest at Texas A&M University calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term. This year's term was " Political Correctness".
The winner wrote:
"Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t*rd by the clean end."
Politics & Trade Shows

I spent last week in Seattle, WA to attend a trade show. I had been to the Pacific NW once before but never visited Seattle. Very cool city even if it is slanted very far to the left. Not as badly as San Francisco but definitely a very liberal city.
Here's something that took place that rubbed me the wrong way - let's see what you folks think:
When I went to obtain my badge for the trade show (as an exhibitor), the young lady processing badge requests was wearing an "Obama '08" pin prominently on her shirt. Given the fact that the show was being sponsored by a local trade organization, I thought that the young lady's political statement was inappropriate. I sent an e-mail to the show's organizers expressing my displeasure. I told them that I am ALL FOR someone's right to express their political viewpoints. If the young lady had wanted to hand out Obama literature OUTSIDE of the convention center on her own time, well more power to her.
But I thought that espousing a political viewpoint while representing a professional organization was in poor taste at best.
Miserable Liberals - WHY???

The wife and I went out for a pizza this evening (Saturday) to Satchel's Pizza in Gainesville. First off, Satchel's is the real deal - the best pizza in Gainesville, by far, and the best that I've had outside of a major metropolitan area, including Tampa Bay. That said, you probably know that Gainesville is a liberal mecca and Satchel's represents what may be the greatest concentration of libs in Gainesville outside of the University of Florida itself. Adorning the main entry door to the restaurant is an "Obama '08" bumper sticker which did not surprise us in the least.
One thing that struck us was the generally unhappy spirit that seemed to emanate from the place. Not only were the waitresses barely able to muster a smile but the patrons were a glib bunch, also. I even wore my Beatles t-shirt thinking that I might fit in more readily with this bunch. Exactly what is it that makes liberals such a miserable group in general?
I have seen mention of studies (I'm sure that a Google search would bring some up) that show that conservatives are far happier than liberals. Just why is that? I would think that the concept of "helping" the poor and downtrodden through the confiscation of assets of those that are productive members of society would make libs gleeful and jolly - but they are not.
Come on now, gang. Please enlighten me. Yellowdog - you're their best and most vociferous spokesman on these boards. Just WHY are your pals such a miserable lot? Will their mood turn to glee and joy next January when the patron saint of "change" is inaugurated? I sure hope so!
Why Am I Conservative?

Do you care to know why I am as conservative as I am? Well, I'm going to tell you why anyway...
First off, I was raised in a very conservative household. Although my father's father was definitely what you would consider blue collar, my father is conservative (thank God). And he's 91 years old, by the way. My mother's father was an officer in a local steel mill up north. They weren't rich, but he was definitely white collar and conservative all the way.
I grew up in Venice, on the west coast. My American Government teacher in high school was a retired Army colonel and had worked in the State Department as well as serving on the city council. Colonel Walker was a staunch conservative. He loathed the USSR and Red China (as China was known thirty years ago). He taught us that capitalism is the backbone of our economic system and used to call welfare recipients "suckers off the public t*t". Colonel Walker passed away not long ago at age 90, God rest his soul.
What really galvanized conservatism for me was the 2004 hurricane season. Since we moved to Alachua County in 2003, we had been living in a mobile home on five acres in a rural part of the county. Hurricane Jeanne planted a large hickory tree smack dab in the middle of our house. We took our insurance check (insurance??? what's THAT???) and, along with a whopper of a mortgage, built a two-story house on our five acres.
You know what? The government didn't build my house for me. The government didn't give me a $2000 debit card. We did get $400 from FEMA but that didn't even make the security deposit that we had to pay on the apartment that we lived in during the fourteen months that it took to get our house built. FEMA told us that we didn't qualify for more because, get this...WE HAD INSURANCE!
My wife and I have been married for fifteen years. We've never taken a dime (FEMA's $400 notwithstanding) from anyone and, you know what...we wouldn't want to. I just am sick to death of people whining because "the government" hasn't given them this or that.
THAT, my friends, is why I am conservative - and damned proud of it.
Another One for the Libs

A couple of weeks ago, I confounded the libs with my "GWB: Moron or Genius" blog. I now have another logical dilemma for you, courtesy of my friend, Steve, who presented it to me. Yes, your old pal, the neocon, has another one for you to chew on.
OK, so here goes...
With Ralph Nader's announcement this week that he is running for president, the media are carrying reports that, had it not been for Nader, George Bush would not have beaten Al Gore for the presidency in 2000.
But wait just a minute, for the past seven years, all we have heard is how Bush "stole" the election and that, somehow, his brother, Governor Jeb was complicit.
So...what's it gonna be, lefties? Did George Bush "steal" the election of 2000 or did Ralph Nader "give" it to him?
The way my buddy and I see it, you can't have it both ways.
Steve brought up another good point: If Al Gore was such a highly-qualified candidate, WHY did Nader pull only votes for Gore? Our bet is that there were VERY few votes for Bush that went to Nader.

Those of you that jumped all over me for the "GWB: Moron or Genius" blog of a few weeks ago, I have another logical dilemma for you. Yes, your old pal, the neocon, has another one for you to chew on - this one courtesy of my friend, Steve, yet another Alachua County conservative. OK, so here goes...

Thanks to Steve. Keep 'em coming, buddy!
BTW: Where IS Al Gore now that the news is out that the world is actually COOLING? Al? Al? Where are you, Al?
Terror & The Zicam Principle

The following is another duplicate of one of my posts on the TB site. But since you folks in Orlando seem to enjoy the taste of blood, I thought that I would offer up another opportunity for a feeding frenzy:
Those of you that are not familiar with Zicam, allow me to enlighten you...
Zicam
is a product sold by Matrixx Initiatives, Inc. that supposedly cures
(or at least shortens the duration of) the common cold. Rush Limbaugh
does radio spots for Zicam (so right there, you boys KNOW that it must
s**k). My contention with this product is this: How do you prove that
it works? You don't really. You can only say for absolute certain that
it doesn't work WHEN it doesn't work.
At any rate, a couple of
years, I tried Zicam when I felt myself coming down with a cold. I
thought, "What the he!!; for ten bucks, I'll try it." I did and got
sick as he!!. I wrote Zicam and they promptly refunded my ten bucks.
Now,
for the war on terror: I liken it to Zicam. In other words, we are
embroiled in this war against Islamic extremism which I believe is THE
defining issue of our time - and perhaps of ALL time.
The
anti-Bush crowd is out there railing against the president (and, has
been pointed out numerous times, HE isn't even running for
re-election). In my opinion, as flawed as GWB's presidency has been
(mostly with respect to immigration and out-of-control spending), the
fight against the terrorists is one facet of Bush's presidency that he
HAS gotten right. The bashers love to point out this weakness and that
weakness in our defenses (I'm not going to argue that weaknesses exist
- they do); they love to speak out against waterboarding and other
methods of interrogation.
But you can NOT say unequivocally that
the war on terror is NOT a success. The United States and its interests
abroad (the military notwithstanding) have not been hit since September
11th, 2001.
I have coined the phrase "The Zicam Principle". In
other words, until it can be proven that it does NOT work, you have to
assume that it IS working.
First, let me make a statement: I have been blogging on the Tampa Bay site for a year-and-a-half but this is my first post on Orlando (I think). Those of you that frequent the Tampa Bay site should know that I am a conservative. But I am NOT a registered Republican and I am not a particularly huge fan of George W. Bush.
The above being said, please let me put forth a question…
The left has gone on ad nauseum about what an idiot George W. Bush is. We have also been subjected to endless rants about the manner in which George Bush has screwed the American people out of untold billions of dollars in order to line his and Cheney’s pockets with oil profits.
Now can someone please tell me…if Bush is such a moron, exactly HOW has he been able to hoodwink the entire world by manufacturing an “energy crisis” resulting in untold gazillions of dollars being funneled into his and Cheney’s bank account?
So, what’ll it be? Is Bush the greatest financial genius that the world has ever known? Or is he the moron that the left claims he is? If the latter, then this energy conspiracy thing is a figment of the imagination of the Bush-bashers.
Can someone please answer the question for me? Is he a moron or is he a genius?

OK, boys. Yes, you two whiney, sniveling, limp-wristed, leftist wankers. Yes, I’m talking to you two. It’s time for the both of you to put up or shut up; I’m sick of reading your BLEEP. I am going to challenge MoonOwl and Yellowdog to weigh in, too. Their views seem to somewhat mirror those of you two but I RESPECT MoonOwl and Yellowdog’s intellect – unlike yours.
Listen up:
You two have gone on ad nauseum about what an idiot George W. Bush is. You have also subjected us to endless rants about the manner in which George Bush has screwed the American people out of untold billions of dollars in order to line his and Cheney’s pockets with oil profits.
Now tell me, Boys Wonder…if Bush is such a moron, exactly HOW has he been able to hoodwink the entire world by manufacturing an “energy crisis” resulting in untold gazillions of dollars being funneled into his and Cheney’s bank account?
So, what’ll it be, boys. Is Bush the greatest financial genius that the world has ever known? Or is he the moron that you claim he is? If the latter, then this energy conspiracy thing is a figment of your overactive, juvenile, pea-brained minds.
This inquiring mind wants to know.
Come out, come out, wherever you are, Al. The masses are growing worried about you. Perhaps with all of the frigid weather around the country, you're trying to keep your Nobel price from freezing its a** off.
My guess is that we'll hear from you come summer!
The "C-Word"

When trying to describe Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY), a number of adjectives come to mind. Whenever I hear the name "Hillary" I just out of instinct am reminded of the dreaded "C-WORD" that no person should ever have to endure being called...
"C-L-I-N-T-O-N"
(And YOU thought that I meant something else, didn't you??? Shame on you!)
Or so she has declared.
Thank God. I still have a chance.
