This twisted story about Casey Anthony and her missing child sounds just like any of the tv shows that Fox plays during a summer season. "Tune in next week for another exciting episode of 'Where is little Caylee'?
If those bonds people do get enought money to bond Casey out of jail, the authorities better put an ankle monitor on her. Caylee won't be the only person missing in Orange County.
This case is sounding more and more like the Aisenberg case. The exact same thing is playing out where somebody has information about the case and nobody is talking about anything.
So, we all anxiously await for the next twist on the missing Caylee story. That is after Tropical Storm Fay gets out of the picture and the regular news resumes.

I should have studied sociology and human psychology when I was in college. I, to this day still can not figure people out when it comes to these politicians and their rallys whenever it becomes an election year.
This is what I mean. You get a politician up there at a rally and he or she makes a statement, " I will lower the gas prices ", or " you will have really cheap medicines when I am in office! ", or whatever the subject is. The people will then give a standing ovation to that person making the speech.
When are those people going to wake up? Every year is the same song and dance but to a different drummer. The talk early in the season was the war in Iraq, then when the oil prices started to rise, the gas prices went up and the economy went down. The focus then shifted to alternative fuel supplies and off shore oil drilling to "bring the prices of gas down". When are these people going to learn that the politicians are not dumb. In order to get into office, they need to white wash the dumb Americans and tell them exactly what they want to hear. They listen very carefully to what the news media is reporting and then are very quick to act upon it to make the American people believe they (the politicians) are on your side, your friends. How else do you explain why Obama, McCain and even our own governor Mr. Crist changed views about off shore oil drilling. That is because everyone jumped on that bandwagon. Last election the talk was nothing but health care and prices of medicines. The last one before that was the broken social security issue.
If you listen very carefully, most of these tv commericals say "this person is fighting for ..... ". Well, if everyone is fighting for (education, balancing the budget, gas prices, health care, etc.) these things, there should be no issues at hand in the government. In my opinion, the politicians can fix the problems if they really want to. They are the ones who created the problems so they can look like they are your friends and are going to help you. It reminds me of the wolf who wears the sheeps clothing and fool the others.
Each election year, I get so disenchanted with these politicians especially those who run for President. I mean McCain and Obama. Are these the best people we have to choose from? I know there has got to be better qualified people somewhere in this country that could be of comparable quality than what we have now or in the past. Senators do not make good Presidents. They have sat in the office for so long it corrupts the brain of the person.
So, with this upcoming election coming in a few months, I am sure that Bozo the Clown will have quite a number of write in votes for President.

Todays "Your Turn" show dealt with kids and their cell phones. Hillsborough County is the first to address this issue by a tough new policy in which if the cell phones are seen, they are taken away. I agree with this new policy and I wish that the other school boards would consider a similar policy.
I have two teenage kids and all summer long I have heard nothing except cell phones, (I don't have any minutes, my phone is broken, my battery is dead, etc.) It seems that whole world revolves around cell phones and they can not function without one. I went to school in the 80's and there were no such thing as a cell phone and I still made it though. Come on now, how many emergencies can one kid have during the course of a school year?
Listening to a kids point of view on this matter is equally lame. When asked why do you need a cell phone, the answer is....."uh, I don't know, in case of an emergency?" Hello, there are teachers everywhere and if you need a phone to call your parents, the office has phones.
The whole point to this is the world doesn't revolve around cell phones, but the kids need to pay attention while in class get the education that we are sending them to school for. Not text messaging all their friends about teenage drama that goes on. Plus, we all know that the kids wouldn't cheat by sending text messages to their friends about up coming test, would they?

Well, I see that Nick Hogan has finally turned 18 and now is in the adult jail with all the big boys. Sorry Nick, no more video games for you to play while being incarcerated.
This whole media circus that surrounds those bozo's is almost nauseating. First, you have Hogan and his dirtbag friend "Bubba the Love Sponge" coming into the jail with a big birthday cake. Then you have Linda showing up with a skateboard. Give me a break, what do these people think the jail is, a boys club or something? I feel sorry for John who can not enjoy either of these items.
I know, before everyone tells me to "don't watch the tv" or just change the channel so I won't have to see them, my point to all this is the preferential treatment that Nick is receiving really isn't fair towards all the other inmates that incarcerated in the jail. They don't get special treatment and special accommodations just because someone in the family has a little bit of money. Nick needs to be treated like a criminal and not the little spoiled brat that he is. So, Happy Birthday Nick, I really hope you enjoy your newly found priviledges.

Can you hear the music playing? It's the same old song just to a different tune. "We are going to bring Power Ball to Florida to help with our education woos". Yeah right, tell me another one. Whenever the politicians want to raise the gas tax, they use the excuse that the extra money is going to fix roads. I have been paying this gas tax in Polk County for about 5 years now and still do not see any improvment on the roads. I remember when the lottery came to Florida. It used the education system as the selling point. It was great for the first couple of years. The state use to include money for education in its budget, and then the lottery money supplemented the education. Then, someone had a brilliant idea and stop funding the education out of the budget and completely on the money being taken in from the lottery. So, can you hear that same old song again? This time it is getting louder.

Is it my imagination or did our Governor do a flip flop on his positon of drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico? He is following John McCain's position, who by the way did a flip flop in HIS position to drill for oil in the Gulf. Go figure. If I didn't know any better, I would say he is jockeying for the position of vice president.

The news media strikes again. The video shown by the South Carolina deputies pulling over the two USF students for speeding. The news story revolves around the attorneys making the accuations that the deputies were racist and prejudiced against these two individuals because they are of an Middle Eastern decent. Their whole "proof" is supposed to be on the deputies dash camera and audio device.
After watching this video, I did not hear the deputies say anything that was not unprofessional. Ok, now I have to ask, why did the media not show the whole video? You can not make a judgement without seeing the whole thing. There is a trend going on here. Can anyone else see this or is it just me? These lawyers are just scrapping the bottom of the barrell looking for any kind of technicality to get these people off. Never mind that the two deputies may have prevented a terrorist attack on a military base. These two were not just singled out. If they were not going at a high rate of speed on the military base, they probably would have been left alone to start with.

Here we go again, this video that is being shown every 5 minutes on the tv showing the deputies at the Hillsborough County Jail dumping the man in the wheelchair. I am already tired of it and it is the same as the other stories in the past. It always seem that the cameras come on just as the act from the police happen, but never show the events that lead up to the point in which the police take an action. Don't get me wrong, dumping a handicapped person is just wrong. But, I believe that there is more to this story that either the jail, or the media is telling us. There are always three sides to a story. The story that the inmate tells, the officers who are involved, and then the real truth.
I have seen it countless times starting with the Rodney King beating in 1996 and it continues until today. The cameras always catch the police "doing wrong" but never what the suspects do in order to get to that point. Police work is always a reactionary job, you can not do something until the suspect or inmate does something first. Just like the grandma in the drive through at McDonalds, his actions may have caused the reaction of the deputies in the jail. What happened out in the area outside the jail? Did the inmate get out of the police car and get into the wheelchair or was he carried? Is this guy playing the handicap card to get sympathy from the viewers? There are a lot of unanswered questions that I have about this person. But the bottom line is you have to get the whole truth first and not pass judgement on others just by watching a 30 second film clip.

Traffic
All this week, not a day goes by in which there is a story relating to the traffic we have here in the Bay Area. Whether it is the wreck involving Nick Hogan, people who run through red lights, DUI, or any other traffic offenses committed. For instance, yesterdays story was about impatient people who run through rail road crossings before the crossing gates come down. When you work or live in an industrial part of town, then freight trains are a common place, you just get used to them. The same thing if you live near the airport, ummm, airplanes fly over or near your home! Anyway, in my opinion, the kids these days are just as impatient as their parents are and it is passed down to them by example. They see how the parents act when they drive so the kids will do the same thing. If Nick Hogan was caught speeding over here in Polk County doing more than 30 miles over the speed limit, he would not have just received a ticket and court date, he would have received a free trip to the jail and with a no bond status until he went to court. Then, maybe the reality of speeding would hit home and maybe this accident would not have happened in the first place.

I am an original Florida native and I am also an avid nature fan. I have the most admirable respect for nature of all kinds. I am also one of those who get irritated everyday while sitting in traffic and watching the countless houses, apartments, and shopping centers being built on an everyday basis.
If you build more houses, apartments, shopping centers, gas stations, etc., that means more people will come here to fill these things. That also means that countless acres of woods and nature habitat will be destroyed in order accomidate these things. The animals and plants that make up the Florida ecosystem is constantly being whittled away on a daily basis all in the name of urban expansion.
Then, as the Florida aquafer is depleted because of the constant pumping of the underground water supply needed for all the houses, shopping centers and apartments, the government cries about water shortages.
But what really irritates me is these people who move in from another state and have no respect for nature. What I am getting at is, this lady who was boating down the Suwannee River when a sturgeon fish jumped into her boat. Now, she wants the state to do something about this so it doesn't happen to someone else. Hello. This is their home, and you are a visitor. The same thing applies to those who build houses near the lake and an alligator comes into their yard.
The sturgeon is doing what nature has told them to do, there are signs posted and I have seen stories on this subject before, so either you stay off the river during this time, or you take your chance with this dinosaur fish that makes the Suwannee River a breeding ground.
