I am very curious. Why is it there seems to be a church on almost every corner, and yet there is more crime here in our "bible-belted" South, than in most other non-bible-belted rural Northern states? It seems these churches are not providing moral character for their members.
The other thing I can not understand is how it is allowed in Florida to mix church and state. Referring to public schools in Florida, and State of Florida government agencies. This mix is not only insulting, but against everything that is American, (first amendment of the U.S. Constitution).
Separation of church and state is a political and legal doctrine which states that government and religious institutions are to be kept separate and independent of one another.
The phrase separation of church and state is generally traced to a letter written by Thomas Jefferson in 1802 to the Danbury Baptists, in which he referred to the First Amendment of the United States Constitution as creating a "wall of separation" between church and state.
