Oh Those Lakers Fans

What kind of person goes to an arena, even though their favorite team is on the road?

Lakers fans, that’s who! I spent a couple nights out at Staples Center the last couple of weeks with a bunch of die-hard Lakers fans.

The first night, about a thousand people paid between $10 and $15 apiece to watch Game 4 of the Lakers-Spurs series…on scoreboard big screen. They were entertained by the Laker Girls during timeouts, bought food at the concessions and snatched up M-V-P t-shirts at the Team L.A. store.

The best part...everyone went home happy because the Lakers squeaked out a win.

Most of the 5,000 fans who showed up for Game 1 of the NBA Finals weren’t so fortunate. There were a few Celtics fans in the bunch, all of them drawing boos from the crowd.

I didn't get to go back for Game 2, but it had to be crazy with that comeback.

Proceeds were donated to the Lakers Youth Foundation and the Staples Center Foundation, so even though the Lakers lost both games in Boston, a bunch of fans were helping others and having fun doing it.

Game 3 is Tuesday at Staples. What do ya think?

Nail parlors and smoggy vehicles could get fewer inspections under a little-known borrowing plan proposed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, according to advocates opposed to his budget.

The governor’s latest plan to close a $15.2 billion budget gap in the state’s $101.8 billion general fund would dip into pots of money in “special funds” intended to further the state’s regulatory and environmental cleanup efforts.

Schwarzenegger is promising to repay most of the $574 million in special funds within three years, but consumer and environmental activists said they are wary of the promise, given the state’s spotty repayment record when similar moves were made in the past. . .

I had a very nice time at The Black Hollywoodfilm festival. I'm having a rough time with no alcohol or cigarettes. the last drink I had was that night. How ever the next project is not going to be an aafrican american based story. I was felling terrible because of my medication, and the humidity in the theater, So I hope I didn't piss any body off. If I did please forgive. I'll post my pictures tomorrow. Nelson B

Oh Jane those Lakers are in Los Angeles and they really suck except for Lisa Leslie .
