Well, well, it is once again May 1st and once again people are marching to a different beat of the drum, there is thousands of students marching the streets of L.A. they say for a good cause but if I am not mistaken it is time for your CST testing this year why aren't you at school taking the test I thought we said Education comes first.

What is going to happen when your CST's come back blank let's blame it on your parents for not dealing with their status, I don't understand why you would put someone else's future status before yours you are the future...........

Where would you rather be marching at?

GRADUATION

WHAT U DON'T KNOW CAN HELP YOU!!

This weekend was a differnt weekend I took my 12yr old twin Daughters on a field trip with there 7th grade classmates to Montebello High School in the city of Montebello, CA were they will be attending when they finish Intermediate school. There we met with the Montebello High School Officials where we were greated with a breakfast and an introduction to the High School and to the programs the school offers.

"It was an awsome experience my children had the honor to participate in, from there we rode a school bus to a college of there choice there choice was UCLA we arrive there and we had a tour of the campus and we got to learn some of the history of the University it was great we then got to sit down and get information on what the steps are to being accepted into the college and source that will help them graduate".

I learned that children now a days can start applying for scholarships for college from the age of 13 and that if your child is left handed there is scholarships for them for college just for being left handed there are so many help out there now a days for our future graduates but it all starts with parent involvement, we need to teach our children the purpose of going to school is just not to go and do work and say okay i finished but for them to prepare themselves for the real challege which is going and graduating from College. Well, hope I didn't bore you with this one but I sleep better knowing my kids have a better chance on attending college and graduating with less stress.

I was amazed with all the programs that the High school offers. They offer from before school programs and afterschool programs not to mention they offer GATE and AVID.

Gifted and Talented Education Program

Purpose

The purpose of the Gifted and Talented Education Program is to seek out those students with exceptional abilities and to provide these students with opportunities for enrichment. The program is offered in grades K-8th; however, formal identification does not begin until 3rd grade. The enrichment opportunities are offered in a variety of ways. The general education classroom teacher will be informed of students who have qualified for the GATE Program and will explore ways to differentiate the lessons to accommodate the needs of the gifted learner. There are a limited number of after school classes offered throughout the school year for grades 3-8th. A schedule of these classes is available each year and participation is optional. Other special events may be available throughout the year. Parents will be informed through informational letters. It is important that parents keep the GATE Coordinator updated to address/phone number changes.

AVID Program

The mission of the AVID Program is to assist students – especially those in the middle – to succeed in a rigorous curriculum and enroll in a four year college.

The National Hispanic Women’s Conference (NHWC), one of the first large-scale conferences of its kind, began 31 year ago and has grown form 50 to nearly 3,000 attendees. Started by Dionicio Morales, founder of the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation, the Conference was formed to create career opportunities for Hispanic women and bring greater awareness to the talent pool available in the Latino community. Today, the Conference has established an impressive following of Latina professionals, corporate leaders, educators, high school and college students from around the country. The event gathers in a striking forum designed to share resources and learn from experts about career planning, educational achievement, financial planning and life empowerment. Engaging workshops, inspiring speakers and a Career Fair and Expo round out the day

Don't miss out on the Woman of the Year Awards Luncheon where three outstanding Latinas are honored and celebrated with a high-energy fashion show produced by JC Penney.

It should be made a law!!!!

I am a mother of 3 children and I attend parenting classes every Friday to better myself and my children and to brush up on my parenting skills.........

I always here this from everyone children should come with instructions, I was never told not to do that, why didn't anyone warn me about that?

Well, here it is I believe that there should be a law that says everyone that is to be a parent should take atleast one year of parenting classes because everyone is clueless nobody knows what they are going to endure when there child is brought into this world. Nobody told us that discipline should be practice in place of punishments towards are young ones.

There is lot's to learn before we bring children into this world maybe this way we would have less of, mental abuse, physical abuse, verbal abuse, neglect, and abandonment, hey it's a start. And like I mentioned on previous articles It all starts at home with a loving and caring home and enviroment. Because we need to do more to bring up future DR., Teachers, etc., and not murders, rapist, or killers..........................

Last Night's Show:Female gets five years probation for attempted murder on her two young children after pleading innocent and arguing she suffered from Post-Partum Depression.

I believe this lady should have served some jail time, I have noticed that lately more and more females have been committing some kind of abuse towards their young children and getting away with it. John and Jeff had a very good discussion on this one and I so totally agree with them they said that If a male were to commit the abuse towards their children and argue it in court that they to suffer from depression the judge would have just ruled out their statement.

This lady in particular argued that she had in-fact been suffering from Post-Partum Depression and had known she was suffering from it when she tried to drown her to young children, So the judge sentenced her to five years probation and all she had to do was get some phychiatric help and go on meds. I say if she knew she was sick why didn't she seek help if she knew she was more likely to harm her children.......

PLEASE FEED BACK

As if commuting 50 miles round trip a day to get to work is not stressful enough, having to endure other people's blatant disregard for safety on the road magnifies the experience. Forget about banning cell phone use while driving, what about banning women applying their makeup while driving!

You know who you are. It is physically impossible to keep both eyes on the road while you are staring at yourself in the rear-view mirror trying to neatly apply that mascara. Good grief. Don't you realize how dangerous you are to the rest of us who are unfortunate enough to be driving near you? Most times you drive severely under the speed limit because you're not paying attention at all. How could you be?

I can spot the signs pretty easily when I am behind you. When I see your rear-view mirror aimed at you and not the rear of your car, I know what's coming next. Sure enough, here comes the mascara wand. Or sometimes it's an eyelash curler. Yikes, doesn't that make your vision blurry for a little while?

Here's some advice. Try waking up just a few minutes earlier. I know you can do it. I seem to manage it somehow. No matter how much you try to make the outside look prettier, it can never do anything to improve the ugly ignorance within. You can help make a difference in the safety around you. Why not give it a try?
