I appeared on GDLA this morning--as a guest.

What fun.

They are all so genuinely happy and supportive of  the new show which I was there to promote (HOLE IN THE WALL). and regardless of what happens with the show it's so nice when these people with whom I work, both morning and evening ,are so genuinely happy for the new endeavor of a colleague.

Anyway, doing the morning show as a guest was eerily familiar because of my many times filling in for Steve but oddly different because it's a different protocol as a guest.

Fun morning and something to take my mind off this country going straight down the tubes huh?

Time to face the hole.

Awesome, and honestly you are a great guy Mark. I hope your new show does work out. I can also see you when Steve retires (another great guy) taking that seat. The big question is will you be able to seriously sit through three hours of the two co-hosts...?

Just a reminder to some of you viewers: Mark was one of the ground floor guys who started Good Day LA, and is the only one left from the original 4! Antonio Mora, Dagne Hultgreen and the Poorman are doing other endeavors now. Mark is the true anchor, guys!

Mark, keep having fun with Hole In The Wall!

yeah i remember the good old days. back in the day when the background set was a dark blue, similar to the 5 am news. back in the day when the lighting wasn't as good. when jillian had dark brown hair. steve didnt have facial hair, and dorothy looked more conservative. as for mark, he hasnt changed that much over the years. looks like he's gonna grow up to be like dick clark. he's gonna be 70 and still look like he hasn't changed a bit.

well marky people like me and mystere know this stuff because we are true fans, and just love all of you guys. hell if i ever meet ya in person that would make my day.

Mark,

I'm a bit younger than Rick Garcia, but a bit older than Christine Devine, Lisa Breckenridge, and Jillian Reynolds. I also remember Gregg Ketter, when he took over the 10 PM weather before Jillian got hired, and started the Bob Donley rivalry! I was attending Cal State Long Beach when Fox officially started their weekend lineup: Tracy Ullman, Duet, Married With Children, The New Adventures of Beans Baxter, Karen's Song, Women In Prison (OH MY!). I even remember Barbara Schroeder announcing your coming as the first weatherman to Fox 11...you enev rivaled KABC7's Dr. Fishbeck as a knowledgeable weather man with a great sense of humor, and you beat out Fritz Coleman! I even remember one night you didn't have a suit jacket, so Rick Garcia loaned you his. Now how about the floating head April Fools prank you pulled off when the walls were blue? Classic gag Mark! And the car pranks with John Mellicar on Good Day LA, back in '94? Rock on Mark, but don't get locked into a hatch now! (Hee Hee!). :-)

OOPS I hate typos: you even rivaled KABC7's Dr. Fishbeck! Now that's a big feat guy! By they way, that is one reason why I respect you: you have the brains, yet you know how to make us laugh and enjoy the weather! Now just stay away from those Ford & Kia hatchbacks...don't get locked into one (har har!).
