About 4 months ago, my 13 year old daughter was a victim of Battery at school. She pressed charges, the girl went to court (we didn't because she pled guilty), now she is on informal probabtion. Since the incident, my daughter has been bullied and harrassed. I have gone to both the Dean and Assistant Principal in charge of discipline and they both told me that for my daughter's safety I should consider an OT (opportunity transfer). I was so offended that I went to the principal. He was unaware of the events that had been going on with my daughter. He seems to be on my side and believes that as the victim my daughter should stay put. He also told my daughter that from then on she should see him or a different AP when these situations arise.
Yesterday my daughter text me from school. The Dean called her out of class because a campus aide informed him that my daughter was the target of a group of girls that were threatening to beat her up. The dean said to my daughter, "What did you do to tick them off? For your safety you should transfer out of the school."
The school is not making these girls take responsibility for their actions, and I am not going to transfer my daughter out of that school without a good..."fight" (not the best word to use)
Can you believe that all of this is about jealousy. My daughter is a fun loving kind of girl. She is very talented in singing and has a lot going for her.
Sorry to ramble, it's just that it is so frustrating to see my child go through this. I needed to get this off my chest so I can work myself up to battle with the school. Please comment, maybe it'll give me more ideas.
