I worked today and got my project finished, stayed a bit later to help a project manager with another. While waiting for some filler to harden on a mould, my buddy started a conversation on politics and his 18 yr. old son's pick. The kid was all excited about comming of voting age and had told his dad he was voting for Obama. My buddy stated that he would have preferred his son confided in him that he was gay. I laughed and said : " While bad, it would certainly be easier news to hear and take ! "

My last trip to the polls, for a Presidential election, I'd taken my daughter. The guy checking my license and address stated he was glad to see so young a child being shown this. I chuckled and told him I was also teaching her the right way to vote, REPUBLICAN !  He and several co-workers laughed out loud, but said the lawyers monitoring the election probably wouldn't find that funny.

Well, if you've ever read any of my posts, you know how I feel about lawyers and their sensibilities. Yeah, I salute them ALL with : ONE RAISED ARM AND ONE EXTENDED FINGER,  you know the one,  THEE RIGHT ONE !   LOL!!!!!!!

Well, we all know how you feel about lawyers Meb. And politicians.
I am happy you are trying to give your daughter the gift of life. I wish mine was so easily influenced. She went from not caring at all, to debating me on the good and bad of the candidates.
After a two hour debate on the phone, which was very civil mind you, unlike other debates we have had, I think she is actually starting to see the light.

I would hate to think I raised a child, whose vote would cancel mine.

That would be an unbearable thought there Frank on the voting issue. I'm guessing that my buddy's son and your daughter have one thing in common : no years of experience as a taxpayer. I believe a good bit of that idealism will vanish when they discover what Washington does to and with their money before it even reaches their wallet or purse.

Yeah. While I was scrambling to do her tax return on the eve of April 14th, I realized how little she knows about taxes.
She gets money back. That is all she knows, or wants to know.......... SIGH!

Next year Frank, go to the library and make her fill out the form! LOL! I made my son fill out the form last year and he said "This is stupid! Why do they take my money and then give it back? Why do they take it at all?" This year he found out that they took all of the taxes withheld plus $20! He made about $1,000 too much and wasn't happy about NOT getting it back! Welcome to the real world Nicholas! LOL!

Oh and he definately wasn't happy about paying the additional $20 either!

Talk about irony ! Young people are “excited” about Obama but disappointed at having to pay any taxes...LOL But that is youth for you , the ability to not even try to link what the left and right hand are doing and then act surprised when us “old farts” where right when we told them what the result of their actions would be...they usually get pretty smart around age 30 when they realize how smart we where all along !

Better you teach your daughter how to spell in the English language everyone gripes foreigners here can't, don't or won't speak. The Dad would have a political "preference," not a "preferance" -- a word that doesn't exist.

Most people put more intrest in the context in a blog than spelling. In you case joe you're complaining about a speck of fly crap in the pepper, it's still pepper. You're most likely to blind to see that though ! LMAO at a fool !!!

Everyone knows joe is the spelling police. He is here to correct us all.

Shove it joe. If that is all you have to offer, why not just keep it to yourself?

Yes, we do realize the context of any given comment, or post.

Why can't you?

Your only comments have nothing to do with topics, and you are here in just a corrective capacity. Give it a rest will you?

Can you post a single comment on topic?

Or are you our new English Teacher? LOL!

Give it a rest!

LOL, Meb AND Frank!
Good one, Meb! When my eldest daughter turned 18, and registered to vote, she said something like, "People who are Democrats are the ones who believe in killing babies, and all that let it slide kind of crud, right, Mom?" And i said, "That's right, Baby!" And she said, "Well I'm not going to be one of THEM!" Such a beautiful, sweet, intelligent, Republican, daughter I have!

I was reading Newt's news letter a few moments ago and even tho I often agree with him I have to notice that he is showing far to much desperation...he is starting to sound like the DNC when they ask for money , not to change America not to implement ideas (democrats have NO ideas worth implementing) but just to “Beat the Republicans” (go team ra ra) and my fear is how much we are giving away or willing to give away to the wrong party to win ?...if we get to Mcliberal to win what is the point ? I almost think I should post his letter so you can see where he is telling us that as Republicans we must go “in a new direction” and change pretty much everything we have been fighting to protect all of these years.....
BTW I know that we can't take the easy way out like we do with children and just let them do what they want so we can show them how wrong they are...Newt is a prime Example of why that will not work on Liberals...he is the one who “cut spending” and drew down the deficit but Demonrats still credit Bill Clinton with doing that !

I am afraid to push my daughter into registering. Would she vote common sense, or follow her friends that know nothing other than first black, or first woman.

I hate to say it, but that is a sampling of the youth vote.

I would at least try to convince her to not vote, rather than vote against me.

Well Frank you can always buy her a day trip of some kind for election day and send in her ballot absentee with the right picks on it...LOL
Remember the first posts by the girls at fox on Hillary running...the title was “Isn't it cooool” talk about the youth opinion!
