According to The Standard Times Newspaper, "election anxiety"  is a very real phenomenon.

Rita DeOliveira, assistant professor of psychology at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts says "Politics can either bring about enthusiasm or anxiety — and anxiety is what's happening here. People experience anxiety when confronted with change; they start to panic. This election is characterized by change, unpredictability. People are getting worked up."

She says if you have symptoms of worrying, irritability, headaches, muscle tension, loss of sleep, changes in eating habits and nervous habits such as nail biting;  you might have election anxiety.

Do you have it, or know somebody who does?  What are you doing to get rid of it?

A new 30-second spot on Barack Obama's Web site is urging voters to "talk to your boss" or professor and then take the day off from work or school to volunteer for his campaign on Election Day.

The "Take the Day" campaign suggests voters sign up to go to battleground states or work in phone banks closer to home on Nov. 4, when they would normally be at work or in class.

John McCain's campaign, scolded Obama for encouraging voters to skip work on his behalf.

In a statement to FOX news, a McCain spokesman said,  "Apparently Barack Obama believes that you can't 'make history' by doing your job, or going to school, or caring for your kids. Apparently Barack Obama thinks the only way Americans can make history is by voting, and working, for Barack Obama."

What's your take?  Good strategy or bad strategy for Obama's campaign?

According to the magazine "Editor And Publisher" the Obama campaign is winning when it comes to daily newspapers endorsing candidates.

At the last count, 121 daily newspapers have endorsed Sen. Barack Obama,

and 42 have endorsed Sen. John McCain.

Back in 2004, Democrat John Kerry barely edged out Republican George W. Bush in endorsements: 213 to 205.

But, do newspaper endorsements carry weight with voters?

“She doesn’t have any foreign policy credentials,”

“You get a passport for the first time in your life last year? I mean,          I don’t know what you can say. You can’t say anything.”

“I think they ought to be just honest about it and stop the nonsense about, ‘I look out my window and I see Russia and so therefore I know something about Russia,”  “That kind of thing is insulting to the American people.”

---Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel (R)

Are you surprised that he said this about a fellow Republican?

Yesterday, Democratic Vice-Presidential Candidate Senator Joe Biden said:

"Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America."

Why do you think he said this?

President Bush is among the headliners at the                RNC Convention tonight speaking to the crowd via satellite at 9:30 p.m.

Democrats are trying to tie Sen. John McCain to               Pres. Bush.  He has approval ratings hovering around          30-percent.

Here's the question: Will The President be a liability,            or give a lift to the McCain-Palin Campaign?

What do ya think?

I just saw the new Mummy Movie: "Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor"

It was very slow in the beginning; almost to the point that I was bored and wanted to walking out.

But I decided to stick with it and waited for the action.

The middle and the end were good.

Did you see it?  What did ya think?

The wife of nationally known pastor Joel Osteen is on trial in a civil lawsuit, accused of assaulting a flight attendant.

Sharon Brown accuses Victoria Osteen of assaulting her before the start of a 2005 flight from Houston to Vail, Colorado .

Brown alleges Victoria Osteen threw her against a bathroom door and elbowed her in the left breast during an angry outburst over a stain on her first-class seat.

The Federal Aviation Administration fined Victoria Osteen $3,000 for interfering with a crew member.

According to court documents, Brown claims that she suffers from anxiety and hemorrhoids because of the incident and said her faith was affected. She is also suing Osteen for medical expenses for counseling.

Brown also wants an apology and punitive damages amounting to 10 percent of Victoria Osteen's net worth.

Osteen's lawyer says "This is a very silly case,"

Conservative Radio Host Michael Savage made these comments on his radio show:

"You know what autism is? I'll tell you what autism is in 99% of the cases. It's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out."

Now some parents with autistic kids want him fired.

In a statement he says:

"My comments about autism were meant to holdly awaken parents and children to the medical community's attempt to label too many children and adults as autistic."

What do you think about what he said?

Should Michael Savage be fired?

What do you think about his statement?

FOX 35 is going up against MIX 105.1 to donate blood.

The Station that gets the least amount of blood loses the showdown.

So, Amy Kaufeldt (my 5pm co-anchor) and I might have to sing a song together at Universal CityWalk's Rising Star Karaoke Club next Friday July 25th at 8pm.

Just in case we lose, Amy and I have narrowed it down to two songs:

Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer" or

Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive."

Which song should Amy and I sing if we lose?

The Iraqi Prime Minister has been handing out cash to Iraqi people, as long as it's no more than 8-thousand dollars and the same people don't get it twice.

Iraqi officials say  they're meant merely to ease the pain a bit, and are motivated by a belief that better conditions will lead to more security.

The cash handouts are part of the glut of oil money.

U.S. officials and a fed-up American public want  Iraq to spend its own money, not America's, to rebuild the country now that violence has eased.

What do you think?  Wasn't some of the oil money supposed to go to re-construction in the first place?

A local couple sold the naming rights to their unborn son for a hundred bucks!

They'll name their little boy Dixon Willoughby after

96.5 radio hosts Dixon and Willoughby.

But the mom and dad say they'll change it if the price is right and somebody comes up with more "Benjamins".

What do you think?

What would you do for a hundred bucks?

Today, doctors with The American Academy of Pediatrics are saying that kids as young as 8-years old should be given cholesterol-fighting drugs to ward off future heart problems.

Academy doctors say the new advice is based on mounting evidence showing that damage leading to heart disease begins early in life. Doctors believe that if they're more aggressive about it in childhood, they can avoid heart attacks and strokes in adulthood.

Is this a good idea to start early?

Should parents have kids pop a pill, or change their diet and exercise habits?

Is it a good idea to rely on medical science?

Hi everybody, knowledge REALLY IS power. As the 5pm co-anchor/reporter here at FOX 35, I learn something new each day from the people in our community who share their stories, opinions, and experiences. That's why I love journalism, and what we do here at the station. With these blogs, I hope we can learn from each other, share information, and grow from the diverse viewpoints around Central Florida. So, as I'm doing in this picture: sit back, relax, and blog away! Thanks so much, Mike
