I agree, this is not the Mrs. Obama we’ve seen in earlier appearances. She has been carefully softened and made more palatable.

What I find interesting is you have a black man and woman, who by their own words came from simple working class parents and who, in a relatively short span of time in their lives, have risen to position of possibly becoming the president and first lady of the United States. And yet the country still isn’t good enough, and they want to change it. The only way I think they might make it better for themselves is if they found a way to be crowned king and queen.

But what really sickened me were the accolades paid to, and the appearance of, Sen. Edward Kennedy. His niece Caroline Kennedy said her uncle "has been a senator for all who believe that the dream has never died." She said "Uncle Teddy" and Obama are "two men who have changed my life and the life of this country. Well, “Uncle Teddy” certainly changed the life of Mary Jo. Kopechne on July 19, 1969 at Chappaquiddick when he killed her. There are many who have fading memories and others who weren’t yet born. So I invite them google Chappaquiddick or the name Mary Jo. Kopechne and read the stories and reports about this great Senator and man of character. He is not as famous as he is infamous.

Their handlers made Obama start wearing a flag on his lapel and to move to a more "centrist" position, at least in words. Now, his ads target his hopes and dreams for the middle class.

Anyone buying that?

There were a couple of times when she used the words “the country” instead or our country. It still seems to me that she doesn’t feel a part of it. Now speech writers and write a flaw free speech, but when you get up in front of an audience and are nervous it is very easy to deviate a little and revert to using words and phases you are accustomed to and/or feel comfortable with. It may be just her personality, but the woman doesn’t come across sincere to me except when she is knocking the country. But then, we are all going to see what we want or expect to see.

I am willing to bet Jackie O'Michelle could articulately out curse Popeye behind closed doors.

I am a Democrat, but find no credibility in Obama or his wife either one. I didn't listen to her speech, mainly I knew I wouldn't believe anything she would say. I'm sick of all the lies and promises, from both sides.

What i saw on Monday night was a strong willed, opinionated, highly intelligent black woman who was being restrained and shoved into the box of being the black June Cleaver for the sake of Middle America who are frightened of her.

I do not agree with or support Obama. But to try and make Michelle into something she is not was a disgrace and a diservice to her and all women and minorities. IMO she is a strong willed person who has beliefs that many may not believe in. But to not let her be who she is is wrong, plain and simple.

That was not Michelle Obama. Just like Barack I think she thinks higher minded than that and I think she is far more arrogant and outspoken then she was allowed to be. I would rather see what the candidate and his wife is REALLY like now than after they are sworn in

Watching the convention, I feel it is more comedy than anything else. Hillary and Obama have zero regard for each other and Bill has been very vocal in his dislike of Barack Hussein Obama (btw, that is a muslim name). However, at the convention it is all huggy, huggy, kissy, kissy. Like one commentator said, "No one fakes sincerity like Bill Clinton".

I like the group PUMA (Political Unity My *ss). At least they are honest about how they feel. I think that is the only honesty we have or will see from the Dem leadership.

I wonder how Cindy McCain's speech (if any) will compare to Michelle's.
