Here's a bit of this article from the Vermont Guardian:

"NEW YORK — U.S. female soldiers in Iraq were assaulted or raped by male soldiers in the women’s latrines, and an alarming number committed suicide, Col. Janis Karpinski reportedly testified before an international human rights commission of inquiry last month.

“Because the women were in fear of getting up in the darkness [to go to the latrine], they were not drinking liquids after 3 or 4 in the afternoon,” Karpinski testified, according to a report on Truthout.org. “In the 100 degree heat, they were dying of dehydration in their sleep.”

"Cohn wrote that she presented Karpinski’s testimony at the International Commission of Inquiry on Crimes Against Humanity Committed by the Bush Administration."

And now you know . . . the REST of the story.

Never have I seen such a plethora of Anti-Bush perspectives all in one place...Micheal Moore..

BTW..The ONLY story that I was unable to find is the One that YOU commented on..

BUT, by ALL means,,EVERYBODY....GO to this site yourself and make up your OWN minds....

Here's another quote:

"Even after more than 83 incidents were reported during a six-month period in Iraq and Kuwait, the 24-hour rape hot line was still answered by a machine that told callers to leave a message, Karpinski told Cohn."

In other-board discussions of this, I've heard mention that all our men are over in a country that is 'dry' so to speak. Unlike how it was in Viet Nam where our men were able to be with women and so on. To me, that is no fracking excuse. Were those 83 reported men soldiers or animals?

Nobody's defending or excusing the CRIME of rape here..It should be treated for exactly what it is ,, A violent crime of a most dangerous and damaging nature for which prosecution is a MUST..

BUT, that's a FAR cry from the story that YOU reported with THIS site as your source..

NOT a site for obtaining News at all but a severly biased commentary and conglomertion of OPINIONS..
No more "Fair and Balanced " then the Rush Limbaugh website...

So what if it didn't come from Fox? Or CNN? I'm not surprised.

I learned a long time ago that most stories start out on alternative sites. Independent news blogs were the first to break the abuse at Abu Ghraib. It took the MSM a day or so to catch up. Speaking of which, HBO has a documentary running called "The Ghosts of Abu Ghraib" that is quite an eye-opener. Perhaps FoxABCNBCCBS will decide to run it in prime-time? They could double-feature it with the other documentary "Hacking Democracy".

I won't hold my breath. These aren't entertainment news stories.

BTW..I KNEW that I remembered that name from somewhere...
Col. Janis Karpinski, once Brig.GENERAL Janis Karpinski was the Commanding Officer at Abu Graib during that Scandal involving, among other things, a WOMAN sexually Harrassing detainees...
SHE has maintained a vendetta ever since then..
An embarrassment WE still have to endure today...

And NOW you've heard the reat of the story

And guess what,, I'll just bet that THAT isn't mentioned on "Truthout.org"....

That's priceless Hawkeye. If you were to watch the documentary, you'd understand why your words are folly.

But then again, perhaps not. You have said you are '90% blind, 80 % deaf,of questionable IQ and even more dubious ancestry'.

Bummer.

Discredit? Look at your posts on this subject. It is you spending your time trying to discredit the story.

You had one sentence regarding how these men should be prosecuted. The rest is a slam at either me or the article. Yawn.

I don't have to discredit you Hawkeye. Your words do it all on their own.

Now, do you have anything else relevant to the topic to add?

Your story discredits itself.IMO...

LET the people decide...
Do NOT make the mistake of confusing my REAL concerns over this REAL problem with my rejection of this fantacy that YOU have presented which, in MY opinion, does MORE harm then good when addressing the REAL Issue...

What fantasy is that Hawkeye?

That male soldiers are raping women soldiers? That is the issue for this thread. Would you like to discuss it or just continue to slam the site or myself?

Perhaps I should take the advice of just deleting posts that troll a topic in one's blog?

But, what fun is that.

I think something needs to be done about this. Our female troops should not have to worry about their male counterparts wanting to hurt them. It's wrong. It's been documented. It should stop. But how do we do that?

Perhaps instead of knives, they should all carry the best tasers $$ can buy? Pepper spray? .357's?

I wonder if these men who assaulted these women feel women shouldn't be in the military? Or are they just animals who can't control their carnal instincts?

Something needs to be done to help protect these women. A hotline w/an answering machine obviously ain't cutting it.

Nice try( not really)..
People can BOTH read and understand the wriiten word, you know..
YOUR post is NOT about rape in and of itself..
NO, THAT would be a worthy topic of concern..
Your post is about;
"Rape fears lead women soldiers to suicide, death"
Something totally different and unsupposted by FACTS...

False stories and accusations, which are NOTHING more then contrived fantacies without proof whose motives are so transparent such as THIS one makes it ALL that much more difficult for REAL victims of this crime to be taken seriously and as such are denied Justice..…

What’s REALLY interesting here is that the ONLY ones who can testify one way or the other are DEAD…..ASSUMING that there is, in fact, anyone in the first place….
