Several times during their marriage, a friend of mine and her husband lived in different states because of a job relocation. Instead of moving, they opted to live in two places for periods of up to two years. Is this a good idea or does this put to much of a strain on a healthy marriage?

I remember when I was a little girl growing up in Detroit. It seemed like every Saturday in June, rain or shine cars decorated in "Just Married" garb drove up and down the city streests hunking their horns. Everyone joined in - helping strangers celebrate their special day. It is the end of the 3rd Saturday in June, every weekend we have had beauitful weather and unfortunately, I haven't seen any "just married" cars.
Do you think more people are getting married than 10 years ago?
Less people are getting married than 10 years ago?
Or it is about the same and I am just missing the cars?
Tell me your thoughts...
