Mrrick's Blog

I am a child of the 60's and 70's and have seen quite a few things change in our great land since then. I am concerned most about society's current views on what used to be irresponsible behavior but is now widely tolerated. Examples include homomsexuality, wide spread drug use and abuse, child abuse, teenage pregnancy, same sex marriage, and the general acceptance of "if it feels good,do it" mentality.  Criminals nowadays can rape and murder someone but escape punishment because "they didn't mean to do it" and other lame excuses. People don't want to work nor do they need to in some cases because of our welfare system. I was in a convienience store not long ago, and there was a young man with multi colored hair waiting at the checkout ahead of me. Ahead of him was a woman in her 80's. When she went to pay for her quart of milk, she dropped a five dollar bill onto the floor. The young man ahead of me promptly picked up the bill and put it in his pocket. I asked him if he was going to return the money to the lady, to which he replied,"finders keepers, pal".  I offered to take him outside to show him what five dollars of "finders keepers" looks like. He then reluctantly returned the money to the grateful old lady. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG HERE? It seems that we have a problem with core values anymore. Anybody can do anything to anybody and get away with it on the premise of "rights". Parents need to be more involved, each of us has to stand up a say NO MORE! The " silent majority "has been silent too long. It is our obligation to stand up NOW! I know there are bloggers on this site that will argue or pick at what I have written here, and that is your right, but when someone enters your home, steals from you, hurts a loved one, etc., will you be as forgiving and accepting as you are politically? I doubt it.  Is it OK to terminate the life of another human being [abortion] just so as to not inconvieniece the mother? Is it OK to let people across our borders without following the rules? There are laws on our books being broken everyday in the name of enlightenment and blind tolerance.  If someone were to break a law that injured or other wise affected you or your family, you would want that law enforced, would you not? It is time to get back to basics in this country and stand TOGETHER against forces that are trying to tear us apart. From what I am seeing lately, these forces are becoming more and more effective. Thanks for letting me speak my peace. GOD BLESS the U.S.A.!

Well said Mrrick.

“WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG HERE? It seems that we have a problem with core values anymore. Anybody can do anything to anybody and get away with it on the premise of "rights".”

In our current culture where we are taught ‘situational ethics’ people can try getting away with anything, because they have not been told that they will have to give an account for their action, attitudes and behaviors. If evolution is true, then there is no God, and no accountability. Period.

I believe many of those "changes" you mentioned that have happened over the last couple of decades are the "changes" the Democrat party seeks to advance. So get out and vote this year.

Good job with the thief in your story. B^)

Conservatives are opposed to full and equal treatment of gay people.

If you know a gay person, are a gay person, or are related to one or ever will be, know that Conservatives are hard at work demonizing these people and this homophobic rhetoric is causing a spike and increase in violent attacks against gay people.

Also know that the immigrant and hispanic communities have also seen a rise/spike in xenophobic and violent attacks against them due to the bigoted rhetoric coming from the Conservative movement.

"The " silent majority "has been silent too long."-Mrrick

If you are talking about Conservatives and Republicans, they have been VERY loud and VERY obnoxious when it comes to their views (which they have a right to) but their views are harmful to people and society, because they preach that God is on their side (history shows that groups that claim this have a tendency to get out of hand and are unnaccountable, because they claim only to be accountable to something that doesn't exist).

I believe that it is outrageous that you would equate gay people with child abuse, that shows a lack of judgment and character. Again, a conservative who demonizes minorities and others in order to win elections.

Allowing gays to be treated equally is about equality and fairness. It is about tolerance and acceptance. We should be working to include these people into society, not driving them away.

See what I mean? By the way, it was NOT my intention to associate child abuse with gays. Those are two seperate issues. Also, I resent your assertion that I have a lack of judgement and character. Once again,if the Liberals don't like the message, the attack the messenger. I am not surprised.

Gorbash - "Conservatives are opposed to full and equal treatment of gay people."

Not true. We just don't believe marriage should be redefined as the union of a man and a women to something else, like two men or two women.

Marriage is an institution for procreation and raising a family. A man and a woman can come together and the majority of the time they procreate, producing a child.

When two men come together in the union of one male reproductive organ to the other males anus, it doesn’t produce a child, 100% of the time. It may produce a stinky mess, and advance STDs, but there will be no children. Call it a union or a grouping, but it isn’t marriage.

MRrick – “See what I mean? By the way, it was NOT my intention to associate child abuse with gays.”

Sure, we all see it. I find it inconsistent that Liberals are for Gay Priests, but against Priests who are gay pedophiles that prey on children. They are against that, but they want to force gay leaders on the Boy Scouts, even gay pedophiles. We need to be tolerant and accepting of these men who just want to be with and lead boys.

Now, what if a defrocked Gay Priest wants to lead a Boy Scout troop? In the confusing world of Liberals, anything goes, unless it is politically correct.

The good news is that these Conservative bashers are on the decline, they aren't reproducing.
For that reason and only for that reason I tend to support Abortion and Gay marriage in their Liberal lifestyle.
GOD will get them.

How would YOU know what God will do with ANYONE?

Is that all you consider marriage to be a union to reproduce children? It amazes me that the description that you give of gay relationships is only that of a sexual nature, that is disgusting! I respect the fact that if two people are in love then that's their business why is there a need to in detail say what happens behind closed doors?

Thank you singlebutmarried, for using common sense! Gay union are just like regular marriages. Some have children, some don't. They stay together for love, money, stability, companionship, sex, etc. Sex is only a small part in the complexities of a relationship between 2 people who love each other.

You might think differently if you had a gay child.

I do have a gay child and no I don't think differently.
However, THAT ISSUE IS NOT WHAT Mrrick's blog was about. It' so typical that you would completely miss the whole point. And from reading Gorbash81's comment he also appears to be off in his own lala land.

What can I say Mrrick? As they said in the movie, "I don't think that we are in Kansas anymore." I'm a child of the forties and fifties and from my viewpoint our world is worse even than your view of it. By world I mean our America. I woke up this morning and taking stock concluded that we are not in America anymore. At least not the America that I grew up in. I agree with every thought that you expressed. Now, WHAT DO WE DO ABOUT IT??

Mrrick, consider yourself patted on the back and a glass raised in your honor.

I like Mike Huckabee for President because he speaks plain english and he may be able to get us started on the path back after being lead into the swamp.

shadowknows- please read all the comments again! About 5 people mentioned the gay marriage thing before I did! So why just pick on me? Because you like to! I'm so flattered! I've also heard your story about your gay child that you are not happy with. So sorry for you - I love my daughter! And I am like a mother lioness defending her cub! No one will ever change that about me!

Actually my dear, you were number three. I only counted LaLa Land Foggy Headed Gorbash81 once. My goodness, his coments are beginning to make less and less sense.
You are quite right, I'm not happy with my son's choice of lifestyle. And although I won't defend his lifestyle, I do love him as my son and I will defend his person to the death. At the same time, IT IS MY RIGHT TO NOT ACCEPT HOMOSEXUALITY AS NORMAL AND NO SOCIALIST DEMOCRAT IS EVER GOING TO CHANGE THAT ABOUT ME!!!!
