As the saying goes: You've come a long way, Baby!! ~ LOL
I remember it was exactly two years ago when I signed up to be a member of MYFOXORLANDO.COM. Even my avatar says it: Member Since: 7/15/2006 ~ LOL
I had never "blogged" in my life!
In the past two years, I have had great experiences and have learned a lot just from reading and commenting on what other bloggers post. We are definitely a diverse group of people!!
One of the things I have enjoyed the most is looking at the thousands and thousands of photos posted here. Some of them are posted in the bloggers' profiles; some are posted in the Weather Baby section or the Pet section, and a lot of them are placed in the Photo Galleries. Photos are a lot of fun!!
One of the things I blogged about a long time ago was how the Internet has given us this wonderful world of communication.
It is mind boggling to me to think how many people can be in communication at once via the Internet. We see it on MySpace, Google and AOL. And in my case, I see it when my kids are playing video games. The play in "rooms" full of hundreds of people who are connected, even from the other side of the world!! Incredible!!
So hopefully, all of you are enjoying this type of communication as I am.
Who knows, maybe in the future, I will be able to blog about celebrating many more years of being a blogger!! ~ ROFLOL

Because of You, today I can celebrate a 25 Year Anniversary!!
It is amazing how time goes by. As if it was yesterday, I remember when I went to your office for an interview. I had just graduated from school and had dropped off Resumes in various offices. After having been called to several interviews, no one wanted to hire me because I did not have any experience.
I had gone through approximately six interviews before I went to your office. When Mr. Raymond interviewed me, just like all the other employers, he told me “We will call you”.
I remember talking to Mr. Raymond and asking if he was the person who would make the decision to hire me and he said “no”. I asked if I could meet the person who would make the decision and he introduced me to You.
After talking to You for few minutes, You indicated You needed someone with work experience. I remember asking aloud “How Am I going to get experience if no one wants to hire me?”
At the end of our conversation, I offered a proposal. “Please let me work in your office for one week without pay. If you are not satisfied with the work I do, I will leave.” You hired me the next day.
I worked in your office for five years before I moved to Puerto Rico. After the devastation from Hurricane Hugo, I went back to New Jersey and you gave me a job, even though I always thought you did not need another employee. I worked for you another four years before I moved to Florida.
Mr. Rosenberg, THANK YOU so much for giving me that first opportunity!!
It is now 25 years of good memories ...
As always, I will keep You in my prayers and in my heart.
God Bless,

So the Futbol season is winding down ...
I know Soccer is not considered one of the most popular sports in the United States, but I must support the game since my oldest son plays Soccer and he likes it so much!
This weekend, him and his team will be playing at the 11th Annual Palm Bay Spring Challenge. And, even though the sport is not as popular, they are expecting a crowd of 10,000 people who will watch over 200 teams battle each other.
I hope all of the Goal Keeper training pays off!! - LOL
Have a nice weekend, Everyone!!

Weather
Is everyone enjoying this wonderful Florida weather like I am? I hope so!
In fact, the weather has been sooooo nice lately, I actually decided to take some time off from work just to drive to St. Augustine to have a fun and relaxing day with my kids. After all, they were on Spring Break and I definitely needed a break before my final exam this semester.
We spent the entire day there. Left at 7 a.m. and did not come back until night time. The day could not have been any better!
Have you taken any trips around Florida lately? If so, where did you decide to spend your day?
Summer season is fast approaching. I guess we should enjoy the rest of the Spring, especially if it continues to be like this!! - LOL

I know some of you are animal lovers, so I am writing to ask for your help.
My older son has a Macaw as a pet. He has had it since the bird was two months old. The bird is now 4 years old.
Last night, as we were transferring it to the inside of the house, it flew away.
We spent about four hours looking for it in the surrounding area, but we were not successful in finding it. The bird flew away from the Casselberry area. We don't think it went too far, because it never flew away before and the wings were trimmed. We will be calling Animal Control in the morning.
If anyone happens to see it or hear about it, please let me know.
Here's a picture of my son's pet.

As anyone can imagine, my son is very upset and extremely sad about this.
Any help you can provide will be appreciated.

Apparently, getting the vote from Spanish-speaking people has become a very important issue. A couple of months ago, the Democatric Candidates agreed to participate in a Spanish-speaking forum wherein they answered questions asked by Spanish-speaking people. This was broadcast by one of the Spanish channels. Today, Republican Candidates are doing the same thing.
It would be interesting to know how these forums and the participation of the Candidates to the Presidency will impact the votes they receive from Spanish-speaking voters.
With millions of registered Spanish-speaking voters, I think the candidates are playing their cards right.

Today, I celebrated another anniversary at my job. It is silly that I celebrate this? I don't think so!! Apparently, my co-workers feel the same way!! - LOL
I truly have a reason to celebrate. I work with WONDERFUL people, but most importantly, I like my job!!
Thinking about it, I have always ended up having jobs I like. Every single one of them!!
I was first hired to work in this Country on June 6th. This was right after I finished my studies. I held that job for almost 8 years until I moved to Florida.
After enjoying a happy and relaxed pregnancy, and after having a wonderful year with my newborn, it was time to go back to the workforce.
I started my first job in Florida on April 10th. I worked for almost a decade, but after going through major changes, the company did one final re-organization. Out of 900 plus employees, only 25 were left at the end. That was shocking and sad.
Fortunately, friendships were kept and to this date, I still have dinner once a month with that group of friends. We've been doing this for a couple of years. Wow! Time does fly!!
So my new day of celebration became October 10th!!
The highlight through the years: Being happy with what I do!!
Thank You, Guys, for celebrating with me today and for the cake. I loved the writing on it!! - LOL
You know, there is no better way to celebrate than with TRIPLE CHOCOLATE CAKE sprinkled with lots of CHOCOLATE MINI-KISSES!!
YUMMY!!! - ROFLOL

Traffic
Well, it was bound to happen at one time or another. A blown tire. This is the second time this has happened to me in my driving lifetime.

Unfortunately, it happened in the left lane of the busy Hwy. 17-92. As soon as it happened, I pressed slowly on the brakes, looked in the rear view mirror and saw a whole lot of traffic coming. There would be no chance for me to cross all the way to the right lane, so I made a decision to keep moving on the left lane for a couple more seconds until I finally stopped, right after the extra left turn lane began.
Thinking about it, this was probably not the best decision because of the danger it presented afterwards when the time came to change the tire. It was the back tire in the passenger's side.
However, I was always advised that if I get a blown tire, I should not continue driving because the rim of the tire can get ruined.
So, I ask ... What would you have done in my situation?
I have to say that under the circumstances, I was really blessed in many ways. First and foremost, no one got injured. Second, a very nice gentleman in a red SUV and a couple in a small black car stopped by to see if I needed help. Finally, Deputy Sheriff Bradford showed up in the middle of changing the tire. After he made sure we were safe, he stayed with us until we were able to drive off.
Thank You, Everyone!! D/S Bradford, you are the best!!

When was the last time you paid $14.99 for a Video Game System??
I came home today to find a weekly ad from Radio Shack. While browsing through it, I found out they are selling ATARI Video Game Systems for $14.99!!
I'm sure it is not the 'real' thing as years ago, but WOW! This brings back memories. My first thought was: "Where will I find games for it?" Well, apparently the system comes with 20 built-in games, including the wriggly "Centipede"!!
This is so awsome! I think I will go buy one, just for the heck of it!! - LOL
Playtation 3 - $600
X-Box 360 - $400
ATARI - $14.99
Memories ... well ... you know the rest - LOL

Yesterday, I got a light break.
Traveling on Ronald Reagan Boulevard, I got stopped by Police. I quickly went through a mental checklist ... seatbelt, check ... driving under the speed limit, check ... driver's license, check ... insurance card, check ...
It seems what I forgot to check is my brake light!
Officer B was nice enough to let me go with a warning and an order to fix the light.
Does everyone check the brake lights on their vehicles? If so, how often do you do it?
Thanks again for the break, Officer B!! The brake light is fixed.

David Beckham is coming to America from Real Madrid next month.
My son says that Beckham is one of the best free kick takers in the world, having only a handful of players who match up to his caliber, like Ronaldinho and Frank Lampard.
What kind of things you think he will bring to the States? Will he make any difference at all?
Some people may not care much about soccer. As a matter of fact, MyFoxOrlando.com doesn't even have a Soccer tab in the Sports Section. What gives?!
Do you care about soccer? Do you think he is here for the $10 million a year or does he really want to encourage people to play soccer in America? Do you think he will take the role of Captain from Landon Donovan?

This is an experiment. Many sites in the internet have spaces dedicated for Spanish communication. AOL is one of these sites. It has chat rooms where all communication is done in Spanish.
Last month, News Corp., the company that bought the very famous MySpace.com launched a new site called MySpace en Español.
And here is where my experiment begins. I wonder if anyone would be interested in maintaining communication in Spanish here at MyFoxOrlando.com. The forums would be unlimited!
Personally, I love to write in Spanish. If you would like to communicate in Spanish, please visit my Message Board "Solamente en Español”.
See you there!

February 29, 2007, would have marked the 19th Anniversary of my becoming a United States Citizen. Since there is no February 29 this year, I’ll celebrate today!!
Other milestones in my life include:
- The days my two sons were born
- The day I started working in this country
- The day I voted for the first time
- The day I drove a car in the highway for the first time alone
- The day I received my first ‘real’ kiss
- The day I decided to accept God in my life
Dates I always remember include:
- My mother’s birthday
- My stepfather’s birthday
- September 11, 2001
Do you keep important dates in mind? Which dates do you consider to be milestones in your life?

Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Joyeux Noël, Buon Natale and Vrolijke Kerstmis to everyone who visits MyFoxOrlando.com!
Well, I really don't want a hippopotamus for Christmas. I just like the song. Our family already has way too many pets to take care of: A kitty, a doggy, a bunny, a chick, a cocktail, a macaw and a turtle!
Thank goodness Grandma and Grandpa have a big, big backyard!
Best Wishes to all of you!
