Hey everyone....

    So if you missed the show today you missed us out at Dodger Stadium for Opening Day.  Let me start this blog with saying I am NOT a big Dodger Fan.  I have and always will be loyal to the St. Louis Cardinals.  SO I write this blog a little bit biased!  Sports Illustrated is predicting the Dodgers will win the National League Pennant this year and lose in the WOrld Series to the Angels (wouldn't that be something) I say no way.  The Dodgers are an improved team but NL Champs?  Come on.  You can't win a division if you don't have the bats.  The Dodgers have good pitching that will keep them in games but without a slugger down the stretch you are not going to win.  I would bet on the Yankees over the Dodgers in that category and day and I like them even less.  What do you think.  ANd is Jason Schmidt worth 47 million dollars?  He looks good now but I'm not so sure.  So if you were Frank McCourt and had the run of the team what moves would you make (within reason) and what do you think about your Dodgers and ANgels this year?  Let's talk.

hi love,

i heard the Angels and Indians had three postponed games this past weekend because of inclement weather in Cleveland. (that is snow to you and me). Now i learn a game is going to be played in Milwaukee. (I am not following baseball as a fanatic anymore. I was weaned twenty years ago when I was at dodger stadium sitting near the visitors' duggout and the bloke next to me was my age and was a sports agents for one of the players. I decided it was kind of homosexual for my wanting to be near the duggout! and watching the pros play the game I had played as a kid. I felt nauseous about my decision to be in a ball park.) my question is would it be smart to have another series between the Angels and Indians be three straight double-headers rather than playing a game in a neutral city? if i am wrong about how many games were post-poned please correct me. the theme here is three consectutive double-headers. you are adorable!

i know nothing of baseball, but between the dodgers and the angels, i have to go with jebus (yeah i said jebus) and pick the angels. besides my sister likes the dodgers, so i have to go against her team to piss her off. ha! 47 million, that's crazy. no wonder everyone has to pay 26% more on ticket price to see the dodgers. trying to make up all the money they lost on hiring that guy.

I haven't been a big Dodgers fan since the days of Davy Lopes, Ron Cey, Steve Garvey, Reggie Smith and the rest of the bunch. I do average about one game a season, usually because someone from out of town wants to go, or there was a ticket giveaway at work. Now that the prices have gone up, free tickets is the only way I'm going to a game...especially when I have to pay $15 for parking. Yikes!

Nischelle,

Your Cardinals team had some awful pitching and they managed to win the whole World Series. So the Dodgers offense might not be all that great now, on paper, but you don't have to have a bunch of bashers to win it all. That's why the Yanks crash out in the playoffs, all bashers and no pitching.

Cards are great, but Tony should never have let Suppan go - Albert P. is my favorite player and I'm an old lady - I take great pleasure in knowing his thighs are as big as trees...and by the way, Angel and Yankee fans - come on - its not like American League ball counts with that DH, its like you can't play by the real rules so you make exceptions???

Well Nischell I have'nt been a big fan of the Dodgers since back when Garvey,Cey and Lopes
watching with my dad now years later I favor the Angels and my husband and kids are Dodgers fan so I get my Grand son on my side he's my little trooper we cheer on GO ANGELS! ! it makes it fun in the house but we all agree on the LAKERS

NISCHELLE,

I think you should have your own sports show. you love sports you know what the hell your talking about and we can see the passion you have for it and you are a women (right on). I love sports in fact i am married but all we have are guy friends because i cannot find a girl who likes sports as much as i do,because i love to go to every sporting event i can. Dodgers and Angels i would like to see it happen, i would love for the dodgers to win it. i have been a dodger fan since i was 2 so they need to step up and win. i was there yesterday and i have to say it was not the most excited game or crowd there, and not much going on because since the begining of the game 2 players got hurt and we almost lost another one but he shook it off and stayed in it. we cannot lose players already we still have furcal thats hurt and when is he coming back?. i am going tommorrow so i hope it is better than opening day. to comment on what (meandmygirls) said about the parking (YIKES) it is just as bad now as it was before. now they have this stupid rule if you came in this way you leave this way and they block the area so you cannot leave a different way. it is not good i liked the other way and They made us park in no mans land ,we were near the "think blue" sign we left at 9:30am and thats how bad it was and $15 just for a spot to park my car INSANE.

nischelle,i been a dodgers fan since garvey,lopes russell,cey.i alway enjoyed going to dodger stadium.its still early in the season.but the dodgers have a good chance to make.we have good piching and good hitting.i know card are struggling and pujols is struggling.but still there plenty of time in the season.

Hi Nischelle,

I'm sorry to hear that you are a St. Louis fan...lol. You should know that if you live in L.A. for over a years you are obligated to cheer for the Dodgers and Lakers.

I just moved back to the SoCal area after living in the D.C. and VA area for several years. I can't wait to go see a Dodger game.

Your right, the Dodgers need a big bat in their line-up. However, even without a slugger they are going to do very well. Look for Kemp, Martin, Kent and Gonzalez to have great years.

Finally, a big shout to MLB for taking a "pause for the cause" this Sunday to remember the great Jackie Robinson. A true American hero who in 1947 integrated the game of baseball. He endured major abuse and insults but 60 years laters it's safe to say that he truly left a profound and indelible mark on the game and our nation. Way to go number 42!

Hey Everyone...

Lot's of Dodger Fans out there where are the Angels?

Kim--you are right they NEVER should have let Suppan go but I guess Tony has other things to worry about right now like not drinking and driving.

DDain--I admit, my Cardinals had a very lucky run last year and yes they ahd terrible pitching but as much as a fan of them I am I think it was a lot fo luck and ok ptiching at the right time. Having said that i believe you have to have both to be successful.

Ruchelle--thanks for the vote of confidence girlfriend...i wouldlove a sports show i could talk sports all day! i think the more women show we actually are interested and know what we are talking about the easier it will become for us to break through the sports scene.

cee--i will check out that author...bythe way what does eveyone think of the Imus story I know people wanted a blog on it so let's start one.

Nischelle came to FOX 11 in September of 2004 and in January of 2005 became a permanent member of Good Day LA. In August of 2005 Nischelle returned to New Orleans to report on Hurricane Katrina. It was during those 14 days covering the aftermath of the storm that changed Nischelle forever. Not only did she experience personal and professional tragedy, she also saw a growth in the human spirit that will never leave her. Nischelle won numerous awards for her reporting during the storm including the California Junior Chamber of Commerce's "Outstanding Young Californian" Award.
