So just when I thought the NBA Playoffs couldn't get any duller this happens and now I have something to talk about.

Did you hear the exchange between the commissioner and Dan Patrick yesterday? Dan had the Commish on his radio show and was questioning him about the decision to suspend Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw after the got off the bench in game three.

The Commish did not like the fact that Dan was questioning him and got irritated. No let me say it...he lost his cool big time. Actually I think he just showed his true colors...I call it the unmasking of David Stern. Her berated and was condescending to Dan. Over and over again he tried to defend his position but in the process kept contradicting himself. Saying that when you get off the bench there is no gray area; no room for interpretation but yet he didn't suspend Tim Duncan when he did it the game before. He never answered why he suspended Robert Horry for the hip check but not Baron Davis or Bruce Bowen for what they did. Basically, the Commish acted like a spoiled brat. Like a kid who got caught doing something bad and was making up excuse after excuse. Dan Patrick got pimp slapped by the Commish and in the end I think David Stern looked really bad. I have said it before he has a dictator mentality and it showed big time yesterday.

So what do you think? Did you hear it? Do you care? What do you think of the decision to suspend those two? I kind of feel like Stern is trying to take the human element out of the game. I believe you have to allow for human instinct...and if your friend just got cold cocked wouldn't you react? Let's talk about this!!! HOLLA!

I actually wrote about this on my blog as well. I thought since Duncan & Bowen left their bench earlier in the game, the two teams were guilty of the same violation and the penalties should off-set each other, as in football.

I thought that would be a good excuse for Stern to use as a reason for not suspending anybody. I mean, if San Antonio wins this series, you're looking at a potential Final 4 of Utah/SA & Detroit/Cleveland. Talk about BORING! Who, outside of those four cities, gives a rat's behind about those teams? Sure we get to see Lebron try to do an Air Jordan impression but have you watched the Cavs play? It's unbelievably boring. Here's their offense: Larry Hughes brings the ball up. Big man sets a pick for Lebron to break free. Hughes passes to Lebron. Lebron takes his man one on one for either a fade away jumper, or a layup.
So my point is, if Stern wants the playoffs to be a ratings contender, you absolutely need the Suns in there as long as possible because of their fan-friendly style.

What gets me is that Bruce Bowen is a dirty player...everybody knows it. How does this guy continue to get away with such behavior? And I think it's really lame of Stern to not suspend Tim Duncan, obviously there is a "gray area" in the rules when it comes to future Hall-of-Famers.

The officiating in the NBA is disgusting, not just in this series, but going back to the Finals of last year. Why Stern doesn't hire better referees is perplexing.

Hey Nischelle,

Rules are rules, and officals can choose to exercise those fine print rules on whom they choose, right or wrong.
But i tell you,if one of my teammates get rushed,i'm gonna stand up and show my support, and deal with rules later.Respect first and answer questions later. That situation could have been much worst, and their coming down hard on nba players right now.Look at all the fuss here lately. And the players are getting the short end of the stick.

Not too much interested in the playoff's since the lakers were out. But Nischelle, your doing a great job,i watch the show every morning!

hey everyone...

good comments. That was must listen radio if you missed it. Anyway, what do you think of the series going on now...San Antonio and Utah..YAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!! David Stern is probably pacing the floor saying what did I do right about now.

Hey Monnyj---I am a HUGE fan of girlfriends and I was so psyched to see it got picked up for another season. I have long said it is a show that doesn't get nearly the recognition it dseserves! The writing is so smart and funny and the characters are spot on! Your character is SO funny!!!! I can't wait to see his interaction with Mya now that sheis pregnant! I couldtalk about Girlfriends all day! And if anyone is reading my blog andthey haven't chekced the show out...you should do so. I think it is one of the funniest series on television right now and has been in the past few years. I also dig the spin off "The Game"...it started a little slow but has really picked up...Wendy Raquel Robinson makes that show..she is FANTASTIC!!!!! I have always thought she was a good actress but she just carries that show. You know one day I am going to make that the topic of one of my blogs...the plight of pro-athletes wives and girlfriends. Thanks again Monnj....let's chat!!!!

HOLLA

by the way, is Bruce Bowen really dirty or just aggressive? Up until now he has been known as one of the toughest defensive players but now he's dirty. Where do you draw the line? P{eople say Kobe is dirty...Raja Bell is dirty and so on...I tend to thnk most people are hard players and you use whatever taxctic you can to get an edge. I just heard an interview with Grant Hill the other day and he said that when he plays against Rip Hamilton (pistons) hecrtowds him and bumps him on purpose to try and get away with things..he tries to be physical with him...he also said that Rip purposfully keeps his fingernails long and ia always scratching his opponent. Grant said he is always marked up after he plays him...so is that dirty or smart?

sound off

Hello Nischelle,

About the nba player's,playing smart or dirty, that's dirty, using crazy tactics to overcome the opposing team is foul! But at one piont or another,i think all player's play dirty!Kobe get's crazy with it when he wants to win. It's not right, but maybe a part of playing the game!

The Spurs are killin em!!

I think it's smart to play dirty if you don't get caught, which apparently is something that Bowen has figured out. Still, imagine if he pulled that on the playground? He'd get cold-cocked.

I think the rule limiting a player from leaving the bench has to be relaxed a bit. If one player is coming to the aid of another to perhaps protect him, then he shouldn't be suspended.

The officiating in the NBA has been steadily deteriorating. Makes you wonder whether the games are fixed or it's just incompetence. Four steps is a travel! Bruce Bowen holds away from the ball, and it's okay. Don't know if I can stomach watching any more of this BLEEP!

The other day i watched Girlfriends for the first time, and i enjoyed the show.

Did you hear that in the nba draft, the Clipppers will have one of the highest picks? In that same sentence that also mention something about Kevin Durant?
Anyway if you can could you clarify the 411,if you heard anything about it.

You always do such a good job,and we love you on the air, your very detail.GOOD JOB!
