Since 2000, students with marijuana and other drug convictions have been denied federal financial aid for college — even if such convictions were in the past.
Please use MPP's easy online action center to ask your three members of Congress to repeal this bad law, as members of Congress will be voting on this any week now!
This unfair and counterproductive policy is the result of a provision of the Higher Education Act (HEA), which was slipped into the law without debate or a recorded vote by a prohibitionist zealot, Congressman Mark Souder (R-Ind.), in 1998.
According to the U.S. Department of Education, this provision has harmed more than 200,000 students, particularly racial minorities, by denying them aid and in some cases forcing them to drop out of school.
If you agree that forcing students out of school is a ridiculous response to marijuana possession, please take a minute to ask Congress to pass the Removing Impediments to Students' Education (RISE) Act. The bill, introduced by Congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.), would repeal the aid elimination penalty. Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) has introduced a similar bill in the Senate, which would remove the mandatory financial aid revocation and require a judge to decide if a student should lose financial aid.
Please use MPP's easy online action center to tell your three members of Congress to support these two bills today.
Sincerely,

Rob Kampia

I am sure parents want their children hitting the books and not the bong that are sent off to college. In this case an individual could be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and who knows when that is? All colleges have parties, and alcohol is not only the mood modifying substance you will find at these parties. Who knows what different types of drugs you will find at a college party knowadays? So what if it is your boy or girl who is trying pot in a circle of people at one of these parties passing around a joint, blunt, pipe or some type of smoking device, when the police show up. Say your son or daughter is the one caught, and I am sure everyone is hoping it is not their child. So if this were to happen, do you think that they should then be denied financial aid? Remember, when you answer, imagine it is your child. Does this seem like it is a little harsh to deny someone money for education for smoking marijuana one time and getting caught, many times people who are know politicians have admitted to using marijuana and sometimes other drugs but where never caught, what if they were? Most know that the party life can be on the crazy side while in college, chances are it will not happen to your son or daughter? Either way do you think it is harsh to deny their financial aid for one joint, many will not be able to afford college, so where does that leave them? I think their are many other types of violations that are more severe, but do they do not take away financial aid. So do you think this is a harsh measure or that a student should loose their financial aid for one joint?
They are not user friendly and force you to drop dogs off. The receptionists in the spay/neuter clinic, to put it nicely are very RUDE! The adoption rate is barely over 20%, due to the fact their hours are absurd! In order to drop a dog off you have to do it after 11 A.M and before 4 P.M Mon-Sat. So if you see a dog on your way to work and you want to save it, they simply say "sorry you have to come back at 11 A.M when most people have to be at work well before then and end up dropping the dog off on the side of the road, and by definition are deemed a criminal? When their intent was to do the right thing. Also if you get off after 4P.M. you are too late and once again while trying to rescue a dog you are turned away rudely. It is also not free to turn in a dog, so what happens when your teenage child tries to rescue an animal and can't afford to pay the fee to turn it in? Sometimes they accept the animal anyways, but why should you have to pay for doing the right thing? If you talk someone on the staff they will tell you how they are overwhelmed with so many dogs, if you talk to someone with common sense, they will tell you they are a bunch of lazy bafoons. If you go into the spay/neuter clinic, it is almost impossible to leave there without a bad taste in your mouth, very unprofessional and reflects why the adoption rate is at a horrible low level. If they really wanted to protect animals, they would be user friendly and reform their hours witch are not user friendly. The poor attitudes turn away the people who are trying to do the right thing, and they are not willing to be accountable and consider reforming drop off hours? Sure it is not an easy fix, but that doesn't mean fear change and sit back and continue with the policy's implaced that are responsible for just over 20% of the animals adopted. They are closed to the public on Mondays to put animals to sleep that are not adopted, so are they really protecting the animals? With 2 or 3 out of ten being adopted, I find that hard to believe. If they really wanted to protect and save animals they would have hours that were realistic and people that knew what customer service means, not like the receptionist in the spay/neuter clinic.

He was supposed to be on a three-week trip to Thailand, but instead 33-year-old Tim Chipley has vanished, and those who know him are worried. Police say Chipley was last seen when he was hanging out at O'Brien's Pub on North Dale Mabry in Tampa on Saturday. They say he left the bar at about 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning, and he hasn't been seen since. Investigators say Chipley is a popular martial arts instructor in the Bay Area, and it's not like him to just run off without telling anyone. That's why they're becoming concerned. "This individual just goes out to a bar with some friends and never comes back," said Sgt. Jim Contento. Chipley was training for a martial arts competition in Thailand, and he was supposed to leave on the trip on Wednesday. But instead, he never showed up for work this week. He also didn't show up when it was time to leave on the trip, which was already paid for. "He's been training for months, so he knows self defense, so that's why we're concerned," said Sgt. Contento. "It's unusual behavior for him. People just don't walk away and disappear like that, so we're concerned something may have happened." Chipley is described as being 5'9" tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He has a shaved head, a goatee, and a large tattoo on his right arm. Police say he was last seen wearing jeans and a dark, button-down shirt. Anyone with information about Chipley's whereabouts should call the Tampa Police Department.
It seems like Tim Chipley was definately on the up and up, every week here in central Florida you hear of something horrible happening to good people. I hope this one ends up with a happy ending, but with all the violence that is going on, with it steadily rising. To me it seems like our laws might not be keeping the right people incarcerated? I see people getting released for heinous crimes, like violent acts, sex crimes and it only seems to be on the rise. My friend who owns a popular bar was complaining about similar issues on his birthday. He was upset with police because he was given a ticket for his tag being expired on the way to get the new sticker, on his birthday. He stated in a blog how he was disgruntled with the fact that people have knock down drag out fights with weapons in the bar next to his, and down the road from his bar is a neighborhood known for selling drugs, people driving around bleep faced, and the police are focused on trivial issues and are not doing anything about these issues, those were his words.
I am starting to wonder if everyone should carry a weapon, Tim Chipley is obviously capable of taking care of himself. I hope and pray he returns home, but it goes to show no one is invincable. I hope that anyone has any information comes forward and does what is right. I personally thing people, me , you anyone that reads this needs to be more accountable for what is right. I have a big problem keeping my mouth shut when I see something wrong. If I see something wrong and I can do something about it, I never sit back and say "It's not my problem" I think one has to put themselves in the akward predicament, or in the victims shoes. What if it were you and your problem, wouldn't you be greatful if someone came to help you out? I think people should try to remind themselves more often that this is the "Home of The Brave" so act that way! I have intervened so many times without having to use violence, doing something does not always mean do something physical. If it is a situation that is not one you can handle, call 911 and let the police take care of it. But sometime response time is not fast enough, and your actions could mean the difference between someones life or death. The right thing to do is not to sit back and do nothing, but to do something, that is being a Patriot, and if it is something you can't handle call the police. It is a crime to not report real crime! So if you have any information, do the right thing and let police know!
The first time he responded he said he was in favor of Medicinal Marijuana, and suprise, he changed his mind, after this letter I left my retort, I have exchanged email with him a few times, this was a response to the last article which was an article I had written that was on the feature page on myfoxtampabay.com. It was titled?
"Mel Martinez agrees with Medical Marijuana, do you?"
I find it odd that in the first article, he claimed to have voted in favor of medicinal marijuana, and know he gives a pre-scribed generic response, contradicting his first view? I wonder how he really feels, how can I feel sure about his opinion, when it changes every six months more or less?
Dear Mr. RICKJOHNSON:
Thank you for contacting me regarding medicinal marijuana. I appreciate hearing from you and would like to respond to your concerns.
On June 6, 2005, the Supreme Court ruled in a 6 to 3 decision that the federal government has authority to regulate the cultivation and usage of homegrown doctor-prescribed marijuana. According to the Controlled Substance Act (21 U.S.C § 841(a)(1) (2003)), marijuana is a “Schedule 1” controlled substance, making the cultivation, distribution, or possession of marijuana illegal.
However, this designation conflicts with a number of state laws, like California’s Compassionate Use Act of 1996 (CA HSC §11362.5), which allow the use of marijuana for medical purposes when prescribed by a licensed physician. The Supreme Court ruling states that the oversight of the U.S. Congress trumps California’s Compassionate Use Act. While the ruling does not overturn any state medicinal marijuana laws, it does subject medicinal marijuana users to federal prosecution.
On May 4, 2005, Representative Barney Frank (D-MA) introduced the States’ Rights to Medical Marijuana Act (H.R. 2087) in the U.S. House of Representatives. This bill would change marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule II of the Controlled Substance Act. It also states that the Controlled Substance Act cannot prohibit or restrict the medicinal use of marijuana in a state in which it is allowed. H.R. 2087 was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. No similar legislation has been introduced in the United States Senate.
I support the Supreme Court's decision on this matter and am strongly opposed to any legislation to change marijuana from a Schedule I to Schedule II drug. Again, thank you for sharing your views with me. If you have any additional questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me. In addition, for more information about issues and activities important to Florida, please sign up for my weekly newsletter at http://martinez.senate.gov.

United States Senator
This was my response, I wrote part of my last email to him in Spanish, oh yeah I speak a few languages, I don't think I ever mentioned that? So everytime I have left an antagonistic title, I get a response. Please let me know what you think?
What a joke, you send me a prescribed response, it shows you lack compassion?
Please prove me wrong, I have always supported you, and have been proud to have a respectable hispanic senator. I know marijuana is a schedule 1 narcotic, which is an insult to the integrity of soceity, if marijuana had no medicinal value, then why the Hell are there synthetic pharm. replicas, like marinol? The government makes too much money off marijuana being illegal, at the expense of tax payers and benefits special interest groups, or owners, you know the federal reserve. I am in disbelief that you would send me such a close minded retort. When you have a loved one suffering from advanced stages of terminal cancer, I want you to tell me the munchies are a bad side effect as the chemo supresses ones diet. How can laughter be a bad side effect when one is on their death bed? When is the last time you had glaucoma, it is making my father go blind, do you know what it is to have a splitting headache from tremendous eye pressure, glaucoma is the leading cause to blindness. Are you a wall street criminal, or is there a certain special interest group, oh yeah, the pharm. reps, they give quite a bit of kickbacks, or perks. I hope that maybe you bumb your head or something or somehow learn about this thing called common sense and compassion? The 1970's controlled substance act was passed for financial gain. The Jenks vs. Florida defense justifies the fact that marijuana does have medicinal value! 74% of office-based physicians DISAGREE with the statement that "the federal government should be able to prosecute those who use, grow, or obtain marijuana prescribed or recommended by their doctor for chronic pain within the guidelines of state law."-HCD Research and the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion (MCIPO) poll, 2005. How the hell does a politician know more about medicine that a Bona Fide MD. that has spent God knows how many years in med school, studying medicine? They don't!
This is the Jenks vs. the State of Florida
582 SOUTHERN REPORTER, 2d SERIES 676
Kenneth L. JENKS and Barbara J. Jenks, Appellants,
v.
STATE of Florida, Appellee.
No. 90-2462.
District Court of Appeal of Florida, First District.
June 18, 1991.
Defendants were convicted in the Circuit Court, Bay County, Clinton Foster, J., of cultivating cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, and they appealed. The District Court of Appeal, Ervin, J., held that: (1) statute defining cannabis as Schedule I substance did not preclude defense of medical necessity, and (2) defendants established medical necessity defense.
Reversed.
Nimmons, J., dissented.
1. Drugs and Narcotics 78
Statute defining cannabis as Schedule I substance did not preclude defense of medical necessity raised by defendant's charged with cultivating cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, who allegedly used marijuana to treat nausea which they suffered in connection with their contraction of acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). West's F.S.A. § 893.03(1)(d).

Cite as 582 So.2d 676 (Fla.App. 1 Dist. 1991)
2. Drugs and Narcotics 78
Defendants charged with cultivating cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia established medical necessity defense; medical expert and physician testified that no other drug or treatment was available that would effectively eliminate or diminish nausea suffered by defendants, who had contracted acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), and defendants established that if their nausea was not controlled, their lives were in danger. West's F.S.A. §§ 893.13, 893.147.
3. Drugs and Narcotics 78
Elements of medical necessity defense to use of controlled substance are: that defendant did not intentionally bring about circumstances which precipitated unlawful act; that defendant could not accomplish same objective using less offensive alternative available to defendant; and that evil sought to be avoided was more heinous than unlawful act perpetrated to avoid it.
John F. Daniel, of Daniel & Komarek, Chartered, Panama City, for appellants.
Robert A. Butterworth, Atty. Gen., and Gypsy Bailey, Asst. Atty. Gen., Tallahassee, for appellee.
ON MOTION FOR REHEARING
ERVIN, Judge.
We substitute the following opinion for Jenks v. State, 16 F.L.W. D1070, 1991 WL 61786 (Fla. 1st DCA Apr. 16, 1991).
Kenneth and Barbara Jenks appeal their convictions for cultivation of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, contending that the trial court erred in refusing to recognize their defense of medical necessity. We agree and reverse.
Kenneth Jenks inherited hemophilia from his mother, and contracted the acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) virus from a blood transfusion in 1980. He unknowingly passed it to his wife, Barbara Jenks. Mrs. Jenks' health began to decline rapidly. Her weight dropped from 150 to 112 pounds during a three week period as a result of constant vomiting, and she was hospitalized at least six times for two to three weeks at a time. Although she had been prescribed over a half-dozen oral medications for nausea, none of them worked. When given shots for nausea, she was left in a stupor and unable to function. Like wise, when Mr. Jenks started AZT treatment, he was not able to eat because the medication left him constantly nauseous. He also lost weight, although not as dramatically as his wife.
When the Jenks began participating in a support group sponsored by the Bay County Health Department, a group member told them how marijuana had helped him. Although initially reluctant, Mr. and Mrs. Jenks tried marijuana and found that they were able to retain their AIDS medications, eat, gain weight, maintain their health, and stay out of the hospital. They asked their treating physician about prescribing the drug, but were unable to obtain a legal prescription. The Jenks decided to grow two marijuana plants to insure its availability, avoid the expense of buying it on the street, and reduce the possibility of arrest.
On March 29, 1990, the Jenks were arrested and charged with manufacturing (cultivating) cannabis, pursuant to Section 893.13, Florida Statutes (1989), and possession of drug paraphernalia, a violation of Section 893.147, Florida Statutes (1989). The Jenks admitted to cultivating the marijuana and advised officers at the scene that they each had AIDS and used the marijuana to relieve their symptoms.
The Jenks waived their right to a jury trial and agreed that the bench trial should center on their defense of medical necessity. Because their physician, Thomas Sunnenberg, was not available to testify, the parties stipulated that Dr. Sunnenberg's testimony would be, in part:
Defense witness, THOMAS D. SUNNENBERG, M.D. ... will testify as follows:
* * * * * * * *
8. That he has been unable to find any effective drug for treating the defendants' nausea.
582 SOUTHERN REPORTER, 2d SERIES 678
9. That the nausea is so debilitating that if it is not controlled, the defendants could die.
10. That if he could legally prescribe Cannabis Sativa as a drug to control their nausea he would.
11. That the only drug that controls their nausea is Cannabis Sativa.
12. That he is presently seeking access to legal Cannabis Sativa through the Food and Drug Administration under the Compassionate Investigational New Drug Program (IND) for the Jenks.
At trial, the defense also presented two expert witnesses, Robert Randall, who suffers from glaucoma and who successfully asserted the defense of medical necessity against a charge of marijuana cultivation in 1976,* and Dr. Daniel Dansak of Alabama, who has treated over fifty patients who have used marijuana to alleviate both disease symptoms and side-effects of medication.
The trial judge rejected the defense of medical necessity, found the Jenks guilty of manufacturing marijuana, and withheld adjudication of guilt, placing the Jenks on one year of unsupervised probation. He ordered the Jenks to perform 500 hours of community service, to be discharged only by "providing care, comfort and concern for each other."
The necessity defense has been formulated as follows:
The pressure of natural physical forces sometimes confronts a person in an emergency with a choice of two evils: either he may violate the literal terms of the criminal law and thus produce a harmful result, or he may comply with those terms and thus produce a greater or equal or lesser amount of harm. For reasons of social policy, if the harm which will result from compliance with the law is greater than that which will result from violation of it, he is by virtue of the defense of necessity justified in violating it.
W.R. LaFave & A.W. Scott, Jr., 1 Substantive Criminal Law § 5.4, at 627 (1986) (hereinafter LaFave & Scott). Or, as stated by Justice Holmes, "'Detached reflection cannot be expected in the presence of an uplifted knife.'" Arnolds & Garland, The Defense of Necessity in Criminal Law: The Right to Choose the Lesser Evil, 65 J.Crim.L. & Criminology 289, 290 (1974) (hereinafter Arnolds & Garland) (quoting Brown v. United States, 256 U.S. 335, 41 S.Ct. 501, 65 L.Ed. 961 (1921)).
Although there is no specific legislative acceptance of the necessity defense in Florida, we conclude that the defense was recognized at common law and that there has been no clearly expressed legislative rejection of such defense. The necessity defense was articulated as early as 1551 in Reninger v. Fagossa, 1 Plowd. 1, 19, 75 Eng.Rep. 1, 29-30 (1551): "[W]here the words of [the law] are broken to avoid greater inconvenience, or through necessity, or by compulsion," the law has not been broken. Arnolds & Garland, at 291. The authors state that the defense is poorly developed in Anglo-American jurisprudence because there are so few cases dealing with it, "probably because these cases are not often prosecuted." In any event, they indicate that although there is some disagreement on this, "it seems clear that necessity was a defense at common law." Arnolds & Garland, at 290. The authors cite a number of pre-1776 cases involving the necessity defense. Arnolds & Garland, at 291 n. 29.*
Consequently, we consider that Florida has adopted the necessity defense pursuant to Section 2.01, Florida Statutes (1989), which provides:
The common and statute laws of England which are of a general and not a local nature ... are declared to be of force in this state; provided, the said statutes and common law be not inconsistent with the Constitution and laws of the United States and the acts of the Legislature of this state.
JENKS v. STATE Fla. 679
Cite as 582 So.2d 676 (Fla.App. 1 Dist. 1991)
The medical-necessity defense is merely a more particular application of the necessity defense, See, e.g., LaFave & Scott at § 5.4(c)7, at 631-33; G.E. Torcia, 1 Wharton's Criminal Law § 88 (1978); 22 C.J.S. Criminal Law § 50 (1989). In fact, in Bavero v. State, 347 So.2d 781 (Fla. 1st DCA 1977), this court recognized the defense of medical necessity there asserted by a prison escapee. Accord State v. Alcantaro, 407 So.2d 922, 924 (Fla. 1st DCA 1981) ("Medical necessity was recognized as an arguable defense by this court in Bavero v. State[.]"), review denied, 413 So.2d 875 (Fla.1982).
[1] Although the state conceded at oral argument that the necessity defense exists in Florida's common law, the state nevertheless contends that Section 893.03, Florida Statutes (1989), is inconsistent with and therefore precludes the defense in the case at bar. We disagree. Section 893.03(1) provides:
SCHEDULE 1. A substance in Schedule I has a high potential for abuse and has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States and in its use under medical supervision does not meet accepted safety standards except for such uses provided for in s. 402.36. The following substances are controlled in Schedule I:
* * * * * * * *
(c)4. Cannabis.
(Footnote omitted.) However, subsection (1)(d) provides,
Notwithstanding the aforementioned fact that Schedule I substances have no currently accepted medical use, the Legislature recognizes that certain substances are currently accepted for certain limited medical uses in treatment in the United States but have a high potential for abuse.
The state argues that section 893.03 permits no medical uses of marijuana whatsoever. In fact, all that subsection (1) states is that marijuana is not generally available for medical use. Subsection (1)(d), however, clearly indicates that Schedule I substances may be subject to limited medical uses. It is well established that a statute should not be construed as abrogating the common law unless it speaks unequivocally, and should not be interpreted to displace common law more than is necessary. Carlile v. Game & Fresh Water Fish Comm'n, 354 So.2d 362, 364 (Fla.1977) (quoting 30 Fla.Jur. Statutes § 130 (rev. ed. 1974); State v. Egan, 287 So.2d 1, 6-7 (Fla.1973); Sullivan v. Leatherman, 48 So.2d 836, 838 (Fla.1950) (en banc). We conclude that section 893.03 does not preclude the defense of medical necessity under the particular facts of this case.
[2, 3] Moreover, we conclude that the Jenks met their burden of establishing this defense at trial. The elements of the defense have previously been addressed by trial courts in United States v. Randall, 104 Daily Wash.L.Rep. 2249 (Super.Ct.D.C. Nov. 24, 1976), and in Florida in State v. Mussika, 14 F.L.W. 1 (Fla. 17th Cir.Ct. Dec. 28, 1988), which both involved the medically necessary use of marijuana by people with glaucoma. Those elements are as follows: 1. That the defendant did not intentionally bring about the circumstance which precipitated the unlawful act; 2. That the defendant could not accomplish the same objective using a less offensive alternative available to the defendant; and 3. That the evil sought to be avoided was more heinous than the unlawful act perpetrated to avoid it.
As applied to the case at bar, the Jenks obviously did not intend to contract AIDS. Furthermore, the Jenks' medical expert and physician testified that no drug or treatment is available that would effectively eliminate or diminish the Jenks' nausea.* Finally, the Jenks established that if their nausea was not controlled, their lives were
582 SOUTHERN REPORTER, 2d SERIES 680
in danger.* The state put on no evidence that contradicted the Jenks, and the trial court had no authority to reject the witnesses' testimony. Based upon these facts, we conclude the trial court erred in reject ing the Jenks' defense and in convicting them as charged.
REVERSED with directions that judgment of acquittal be entered.

NIMMONS, J., dissents without written opinion.

Giuliani Bungled Preparation in Years After 1993 Attack on Trade Center.
Critical failures by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani before, during and after the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001, raise serious questions about his ability to be commander-in-chief.
In this thirteen minute documentary, fire fighters, fire officers and family members give dramatic testimony about Giuliani's leadership failures. Their dramatic stories tell how Giuliani failed to provide the FDNY with radios that worked, which led to the deaths of 121 fire fighters inside the World Trade Center's North Tower because they were unable to hear orders to evacuate.
Fire fighters also point to Giuliani's poor judgment in placing his emergency command center at 7 World Trade Center, a known terrorist target after the 1993 bombing.
This video documents the mayor's lack of respect for the fallen when he called off the recovery effort at Ground Zero on Nov. 1, 2001, after $200 million in gold bullion was recovered.
"We produced this documentary because we need to make sure our members know Giuliani's real record," said IAFF General President Harold Schaitberger.
"The UFA participated in this video to correct the myth that Rudy Giuliani has perpetrated on the American public," said Steve Cassidy, president of the Uniformed Firefighters Association of Greater New York, IAFF Local 94.
The Giuliani campaign defended the former mayor's record by issuing a release that lists items he purchased for FDNY.
"But the campaign, with its response, has neglected to address the charges of failed leadership outlined in our documentary," President Schaitberger said.
"Purchasing equipment for a fire department doesn't qualify any mayor to be president," said Jack McDonnell, president of New York City Local 854, the Uniformed Fire Officers Association.
"If that's the litmus test for president of the United States, then most mayors in this country qualify for the job. Giuliani is running on his 9/11 record, and his 9/11 record is laced with failures in preparedness and response," McDonnell said.
The IAFF has not made an endorsement in the 2008 presidential election. Local 94 supported President George W. Bush in the 2004 election, while the IAFF
and Local 854 endorsed Sen. John Kerry.
The International Association of Fire Fighters, headquartered in Washington, DC, represents more than 280,000 full-time professional fire fighters and paramedics in every state in the United States and in Canada. More information is available at www.iaff.org and at www.rudy-urbanlegend.com.

During the Iowa coverage tonight, Shepard Smith and Greta van Susteren, along with Susan Estrich, discussed the exclusion of Ron Paul from an upcoming forum on Fox, and whether Fox should reconsider.
Fox owners, it is ashame that you have no care or concern for the will of the people, whether or not you like a candidate, an election should be fair, not rigged, not corrupt it is morally wrong. If we have corruption from our leaders, what does that say about the integrity of the nation? How can other countries respect us, it is no wonder so many hate Americans, they look at us as war mongers, and we have proven them correct. Iraq did not attack us, Bin Laden did! War is inevitable, but we do not need to seek more, especially illegal wars, wars that profit special interest groups at the expense of our heroes lives most importantly!
Ron Paul supporters will not vote for anyone else.

This is great, this is how the real heroes of our country feel! This is how the troops really feel, they are pissed, and you will not find this on the mainstream media. He exploits so many facts, propaganda will not display this, this is the truth! John McCain claims to speak for the military, they really do not like him, Ron Paul has the most support from the military, and that is a fact, the war is only benefiting special interest groups at the expense of tax payers. Romney, McCain, Huckabee, Ghuliani, and Thompson are all war mongers, and do not have support of the military. The soldiers take an oath to the Constitution! What God tells us to go look for war? None! This war is about profiteering of special interest groups, not Patriotism!

This is the opinion of the head of the government accountability office, the GAO. Dave Walker is controller general of the U.S., who runs the GAO, which audits the governments books and serves as the investigative arm for U.S. congress. This is a very impressive video, he exploits many of the falicies, and how horrible the economy is, which is a no brainer, really when Bush took office, gas was $1.49, now it is over $3.00. The people are starving for the truth and change, and the republics are all smoke and mirrors, none of them have a solid plan, at least the ones the media, or Fox is advertising. There is one, he is against S.S., IRS, against illegal wars, against government big spending, against borrowing money from China, Saudia Arabia, and other nations. I could go on and I will later. Ron Paul is who I am speaking of, but the truth doesn't sell, so the media is only advertising evil spin doctors.
This is a must see!

The Comptroller General of the United States proclaims that our current standard of living is unsustainable unless drastic action is taken. He warns that funding shortfalls for the Medicare program is five times worse than Social Security, and it will take $8 TRILLION to pay for what is promised today to beneficiaries, of which we have ZERO!
This unrealistic "promise" is fiscally irresponsible and is mortgaging the futures of our children and grandchildren.

The Neo-Conservative Guide to Voting for Ron Paul December 28th, 2007 9:16 pm | by marc Published in Constitution, Economics, Election, Foreign Policy, Liberty, Maven Commentary, Neo-con, Philosophy, Politics, Ron Paul, Social Security, Taxes, free market |
You hate Ron Paul and his kook supporters. You are tired of seeing their messages inundating blogs everywhere he gets mentioned. Your eyes are filled with fiery anger as you see Ron Paul videos constantly near the top rankings on YouTube. You love burying Ron Paul articles on Digg.com. Nothing gives you more pleasure than labeling him a racist and supporter of the 9-11 truth movement to denigrate him in the eyes of all. You believe his foreign policy is dangerous to America and you have an unabashed fear that with him in the White House “islamic jihadists” will invade our country and turn it into what Iraq looks like today.
You should vote for him anyway.
What?! That’s right. You should vote for him anyway for several reasons. What follows are some of those reasons.
His foreign policy views don’t matter. Yes, this is an odd thing to say, but it is true. This is best illustrated by our current foreign policy path. The truth is our country’s economic policy will end up dictating our foreign policy for years to come. America can not afford to stay involved in nation building in Iraq and Afghanistan. We can not afford to spread our military thinner than we already have. The economic reality will hit us sooner or later; therefore, it won’t matter who is President. Of course, Ron Paul’s ideas would place America on the non-interventionist path sooner. In doing so, it will make the transition kinder and gentler than if another candidate wins.
He is a true conservative. While you disagree with him on foreign policy as a conservative you respect him for his voting record on lowering taxes, following the Constitution, and pushing for smaller government. His actions always seem to follow his words. These are things all conservatives can get behind. If conservatives do serious research on Ronald Reagan (GOP patron saint) they will realize that Ron Paul is the most similar of the lot. Ronald Reagan was emphatic while running in 1980 about abolishing the Department of Education, among other Departments. In fact, these ideas were in the Republican Party Platform through 1996. Here is a quote directly from the 1996 GOP Platform:
As a first step in reforming government, we support elimination of the Departments of Commerce, Housing and Urban Development, Education, and Energy, and the elimination, defunding or privatization of agencies which are obsolete, redundant, of limited value, or too regional in focus. (source: CNN 1996 Republican Party Platform) Isn’t it time conservatives followed through on the promise of less government.
As a conservative voter you know that Ron Paul will work towards this goal because he has a voting record to prove it.
The Constitution is the law of the land, not the law of convenience. Conservatives know that citing the Constitution when it is in line with your positions and ignoring it otherwise is anti-American. After all, the principles in this document created America. Ron Paul follows the Constitution at all times even when he disagrees with it. Where he disagrees with it he proposes amending it. Our elected officials swear to uphold the Constitution when taking office. Why do so few of them end up following through on that oath? Ron Paul does.
His extremism is good for the country. You think he has extreme views and perhaps he does. This is a reason to vote for him. If you have a President who follows the Constitution to the letter you know he also believes in preserving the checks and balances in it. These checks and balances will temper his extremism. So if you fear his extremism, but support conservative ideas, you will get what you want, instead of what you fear.
He has a pragmatic approach to reforming Social Security. His plan to phase out Social Security programs is based in reality. He will not simply abolish it. He will approach it by covering those who have become dependent on it, and allow younger people to opt out of the program. Over a period of several years it will be phased out. This is his approach to other programs he wishes to abolish. It is all about graceful transitions, not overnight quick fixes.
He is a free market economist. He is a firm believer in free markets and free trade. He has studied economics for over 35 years. Many leading financial experts have endorsed him for President (source). If the economy is the most important issue to voters as many polls seem to indicate there is no better candidate to help put America on the proper course towards prosperity.
He is a man of his word. He is a politician of unsurpassed integrity. He does not participate in the lucrative Congressional pension program. He refused to accept medicare/medicaid while practicing medicine. Instead he sometimes gave away his services for free. He didn’t allow his children to accept government scholarship money to attend school. He releases weekly articles which sometimes explain why he votes a certain way on bills. Much like Ronald Reagan utilized going to the people to gain support for his policies, Ron Paul has done the same as a congressman, and will do so as President.
As a true conservative your views are more in line with Ron Paul than you think. I respectfully request you re-examine your angst for him. Consider what is good for America and the proper role of government, and you can’t go wrong by voting for Ron Paul on primary/caucus day in your state.
Really do you like the war? Are you fooled by all the propaganda, do you believe a rainbow color terror scheme, I think it is a little fairy? Will any of the special interest groups discover that heart they have also is capable of caring, or will their greed and lack of compassion continue to possess them? I don't think enough people realize that war makes the president a fortune at the expense of our heroes? God bless our troops, I love USA, just not the direction it is heading? What about the NAU, the North American Union, or you haven't heard about the unification of Canada, Mexico, and U.S.A.? How long will the public accept the government undermining their intelligence, forever? Does propaganda ever take a day off? If you ask people, some still don't know who Ron Paul is? The special interest groups sure are doing a good job not letting the public know about Dr. No. Maybe one large owner or special interest group will wake up and listen to the will of the people, it is hard to miss people marching everywhere shouting Ron Paul.
How many reasons do you need?
Huckabee denies son mistreated dog and released rapist for a chance to relapse that ended in two more rapes and deaths. Florida does not need a rapist releaser as a leader, we have TOO many pedophiles already! Say no to one who tolerates Waste of DNA's, They can go back to Arkansas with you, and stop reading from the Bible, that is not the job of a Presidential Candidate.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Republican Mike Huckabee sharply denied reports Monday he used his influence as Arkansas governor to scuttle a police investigation into allegations his son tortured a dog while a counselor at a boy scout camp.
"Let me categorically say that is absolutely not true," the presidential candidate said on CNN's Larry King Live. "I never used my influence. In fact, if anything, I said treat it like you would anything else. I don't want special treatment for him or against him."
Huckabee was responding to a report in the current issue of Newsweek, in which former Arkansas State Police Director John Bailey says he was fired by Huckabee in part because he wanted to investigate an allegation that the then-governor's son David tortured and hung a stray dog.
The incident allegedly occurred at a Boy Scout camp in 1998. David Huckabee, then a counselor there, was later expelled for not being "consistent with the Boy Scout mission" of being "kind," according to a letter from the camp's director obtained by the magazine. Shortly after the younger Huckabee was expelled, allegations surfaced that he was involved in the cruel treatment of the dog.
"There was a dog that came in. It was mangy. It looked like it was going to attack," Mike Huckabee said Monday on CNN's Larry King Live. "He was a staffer at the camp. They put the dog down. They didn't do a good job of talking to the leaders. The way it was handled was not ideal, but there was no criminal activity."
The Arkansas Republican also noted his son went on to become an Eagle Scout, and suggested Bailey had an "an axe to grind" because he had been fired
I don't know about you, but I will not vote for someone who releases rapist for a second chance to relapse, now this comes up, he uses his political power to get his son off the hook? Wasn't there also something about his son being brought up on gun charges in an airport, where daddy came to the rescue again? All I know is Florida is full of pedophiles, or "Waste of DNA's," we don't need someone who is going to tolerate this illness! I don't know about you, but I don't want a leader who lets pedophiles off the hook! Does he have a special place in his heart for Rapist, and dog killers? Was the Rapist somehow related, or maybe a friend of his dog killing son? Let God do the forgiving Mike, you are not him, the people who have been raped have been left in a virtual prison for life without parole, the scars may be invisible, but they are there! Just say no to "rapist releasers and lovers of dog killers?"

Who Is LRO?
LRO is the story of the able-bodied and disabled coming together to motivate each other with the inspirational message of achievement in the face of extreme adversity. A message which has been heard around the world, delivered by Ambassadors supporting these efforts.
I have met Slightly Stoopid quite a few times, this performance for LRO is a perfect example of who they really are, great people, you know, the kind of people who have hearts, people who are capable of putting others first, and giving back to the less fortunate, well I say they really are class act, and I hope that is not an understatement? This is Miles from Slightly Stoopid performing at the Life Rolls On Night by the Ocean benefit presented by Disaboom. For more, visit http://www. liferollson. org Check this website out, this is an excellent performance! Miles and C-Money are not only great musicians, it might even be an understatement to say they are great people? They are loved by everyone, and it is impossible not to be inspired by these guys. The rest of the members of their crew are great people as well, from a-z, if you ever get a chance to meet them, they are humbe, and not prudes, they are real people, who truely have a love for life, music, family, friends, and great times, so don't be shy, just say what's up? It doesn't hurt to try? If they are cool to a jerk like me, then I am sure they will be nice to you, especially classy ladies?

Do yourself a favor and check them out, you will only thank me later?
This happened to a friend of mine, this is the email he sent me. Mitt Romney calls himself a Mormon, what will he call himself next week when he changes his mind? What kind of parents would name their child after a baseball glove? What are his relatives names? Sock, Shirt, Pants, Skirt? What a suprise, fishy business with elections in Florida, didn't that already happen the last two elections? How will America handle an election that is not rigged? Or will it somehow be rigged again? Sure we have "Freedom of Speech," they just didn't tell you about the mute button they have on it? I tried to put a video on this post, but the intranet is new here in Redneckville, it was legalized last month, and I am just learning how to use it.

I was in line to do the Republican Straw Poll at the St. Petersburg Debate and I noticed this guy with a pocket full of tickets to vote. Then I saw he was a Romney guy. I asked him, how many tickets do you have? He says 80. I thought wow that’s dedication at $20 a pop. Then I see another Romney guy with a wad. I ask him how many. He says 80. Then I see yet another. You guessed it 80. Interesting coincidence, aye? So I get in the long line behind one of these guys. We have some time to “bond” and after a while I ask him if he paid for all those and he says, no, the Romney campaign did. Ron Paul people easily out numbered them by 20 to 1. But Ron’s people were placing one vote per person like decent human beings.
Above is a first hand account of what I observed. - Stephen
Now if this isn't bad enough, it gets worse:

What is Marijuana Policy Project?
Nov 26, 2007 | 10:49 AM PST

MPP, is the largest marijuana policy reform organization in the U.S., works to remove criminal penalties for marijuana use, with an emphasis on protecting seriously ill medical patients from arrest and jail. MPP has 23,000 members, 32 staffers, and an annual budget of $6 million.
When MPP was founded in 1995, medical marijuana was illegal in every state and favorable legistion had not been introduced in Congress in a decade. Since then, the federal penalties for marijuana cultivation have been changed to provide for the early release of hundreds of prisoners; medical marijuana bills have been introduced in six consecutive Congresses, with the U.S. House debating and voting on our legislation five years in a row; medical marijuana is now legal in 12 states; and much more.
Our marijuana laws aren't working, They cost taxpayers billions of dollars a year, keep police from focusing on real crimes, and don't keep marijuana away from minors.
Nearly 800,000 Americans are arrested on marijuana charges each year--one arrest every 38 seconds. And 9 out of ten arrest are for possession, not distribution.
72% of American adults believe that marijuana users should not be jailed-- and a whopping 80% support legal access to medical marijuana for seriously ill patients.
MPP is leading the fight to replace marijuana prohibition with taxation and regulation. It's just common sense.

"Your opinion counts, but not if you don't give it."-RICKJOHNSON
Even if you don't use Marijuana you still pay for it. The government uses more than $7.7 billion dollars annually of your tax dollars, so even if you never use it keep in mind you are still paying for it. Well who makes money off of it being illegal, could it be the government?
What do you think? Do you think, or does someone do it for you?
A major move by one of the nation's top medical groups, they are backing medical marijuana and they want the federal government to leave doctors alone.
(WASHINGTON, D.C. ) - In a unanimous vote, the Assembly of the American Psychiatric Association has approved a strongly worded statement supporting legal protection for patients using medical marijuana with their doctor's recommendation.
"This is a very large and important medical organization, it isn't some fringe group," said Bruce Mirken from the Marijuana Policy Project.
He told Salem-News.com, "This move debunks a lot of the nonsense from some of the anti-medical marijuana groups. They have been aggressively using false information tactics. These groups allege that there are various links between mental illness and marijuana, ignoring the fact that it is well documented that medical marijuana can be therapeutic".
The APA action paper, which must be approved by the APA Board of Trustees when it meets in December, notes that 12 states now have medical marijuana laws, and states, "The threat of arrest by federal agents, however, still exists. Seriously ill patients living in these states with medical marijuana recommendations from their doctors should not be subjected to the threat of punitive federal prosecution for merely attempting to alleviate the chronic pain, side effects, or symptoms associated with their conditions or resulting from their overall treatment regimens. ... [We] support protection for patients and physicians participating in state approved medical marijuana programs."
This is not the first, but the second action paper calling on the government to facilitate "well-designed clinical research into the medical utility of marijuana" were adopted Saturday with no dissenting votes by the APA Assembly, which represents the group's 74 district branches and 16 allied professional organizations.
"This vote is a landmark, and a proud day for our profession." said Abraham L. Halpern, M.D., professor emeritus of psychiatry at New York Medical College and past president of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law. "As physicians, we cannot abide our patients being subject to arrest and jail for using a physician-recommended treatment that clearly relieves suffering for many who are not helped by conventional treatments."
"This unanimous vote shows the growing acceptance of medical marijuana by organized medicine," said Rob Kampia, executive director of the Marijuana Policy Project in Washington, D.C. "Members of Congress who have opposed efforts to protect patients from federal prosecution have tried to portray medical marijuana as a fringe issue. But the APA Assembly vote, along with other recent endorsements including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, shows that it's those who want to arrest the sick and suffering who are on the fringe."
With 40,000 members and 16 allied organizations (including the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Association for Social Psychiatry, American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, and the American Association of Emergency Psychiatrists), the American Psychiatric Association is the main professional organization for psychiatrists in the United States.
Mirken says the the Assembly of the American Psychiatric Association's trustees will vote on the matter in December.
With more than 23,000 members and 100,000 e-mail subscribers nationwide, the Marijuana Policy Project is the largest marijuana policy reform organization in the United States. MPP believes that the best way to minimize the harm associated with marijuana is to regulate marijuana in a manner similar to alcohol. For more information, please visit MarijuanaPolicy.org.

Take the jobs away from "Employees of Marijuana Prohibition," or "Modern Day Bootleggers!" They are known as drug dealers. They will sell marijuana to your kids, will a responsible doctor? Marijuana Prohibition laws are going on 71 years, haven't we shot ourselves in the foot long enough? Doctors should be allowed whatever medication they feel as a professional, is the safest and best medication. Idiots that use marijuana in public, or give it to children, should be fined or charged along the same guidelines as alcohol and tobacco. Whether you use it or not, you pay for it! That is right you, the one reading this. The government uses over $7.7 billion, yeah billion, not million annually to fight marijuana with your tax dollars, so you should care. In 2006 over 800,000 people were arrested for marijuana, and 9 out of 10 were for simple possession, not dealing or manufacturing. We are putting non-violent pot heads in jail longer than we are violent criminals and waste of DNA pedophiles? It should be the other way around! If you don't like taxes, and I don't know many people that do, then you might want to accept the fact that pot smokers will never go away, so cash in! Tax and regulate, it makes sense, it doesn't mean go get high, it means save your tax dollars and go after real criminals, unless you like drug dealers selling to your children?
"According to estimates by Harvard University economist Jeffrey Miron, replacing marijuana prohibition with a system of taxation and regulation would save between $10 billion and $14 billion per year in reduced government spending and and increased tax revenue."
Miron, Jeffrey L., The Budgetary Implications of Marijuana. June 2005
Tobacco kills almost 450,000 people every year, alcohol kills almost 100,000 people every year. There is not a single case of death from direct use of marijuana, fact! You can ask my buddy Dr. Lester Grinspoon M.D. Professor Emeritus, Harvard Medical School. There are no deaths, you can not find one case! More people die from legal drugs annually, than all illegal drugs combined. Is putting tax paying non-violent offenders in jail, and releasing violent offenders like drug dealers who don't pay taxes, and sex criminals out for a second chance backwards? Well I think it is, but I think, do you?
Ron Paul ran in 1988 and finished third, he is not too old, he has this thing called wisdom, something George Walter Bush doesn't know about. He is a M.D., his health is fine, is he forgetting what to say at his speeches yet? No! Is he telling the truth that most can't handle? Yes! People who are afraid to end the failed "War on Terror," are cowards, and should be ashamed to call themselves American. It is UnAmerican to live your life in fear! Vote for Ron Paul, or watch the Bush administration part III, just run by another puppet. Vote Ron Paul or say hello to WWIII! How would you feel if China was building military bases in U.S.A.? Don't you think we would be pissed at the Chinese if they were building bases here, do you think? Do you? You wonder what set them arabs off, our presence, our bombing of their country. If our children our are supposed most valueable resource, then why are we sending them to Cavelandia to fight a war for cavemen? Let them die, let the Jews loose, they would destroy the entire middle east, let's get out off there way! Sorry, but it is what it is, We can't even stop Terrorism here, and you want to stop it for cavemen. The D.C. sniper, who was trained by our military, coward, terrorist, his actions were that of a terrorist, and he was born here, the terrorist are here as well, and some are American born! Timothy McVeigh, also American born and trained by our military. Virginia Tech, the biggest massacre in the history of U.S., we can't even stop the problems here, sorry, I say let them die there, you should never live in fear! When at full strength, not depleted, we have the strongest military in the world! Spread thin, we are vunerable. If you want to worry about someone, and you shouldn't even that much if at all, is the idiot in South America, jackass Hugo Chavez! He is a terrorist! He is killing his own citizens. He has money, a military, and oil. He is capable of reaching North America; however our military of Nebraska could defeat him, so don't worry! Our founding fathers died for our freedom, let them find their own founding fathers, and let us become America again. Oh crap, I saw a terrorist on the interstate this morning and I ran him over with my car, thank God his bomb was a dud. Seriously, if children are supposed to be our most valuable resource, then why are we building more prisons than schools? Do you believe everything at the bottom of the screen? These private prisons are nice, and prisoners are safer than our children in our public school system, is it me or isn't that backwards? Well it is if our children are our most valueable resource! There are also terrorist in your churches, they claim to speak the word of God. They are youth ministers, ministers, they are everywhere! They are called pedophiles, but should be labeled terrorist, their actions are cowardly, like that of a terrorist, preying on innocent victims, why not label them as terrorist? Their victims are left in a virtual prison for life without parole, while pedophile is let out for a second chance? We forgive the unforgiveable, these victims never forget! God bless the heroes serving our military! I support our troops, just not this "War of Cavelandia!" If you want to end this war Vote for Ron Paul. If you want it to continue, then vote for one of the puppets, or evil spin doctors running, who will only be a continuation of the Bush saga, or Bush administration part III.
"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."-Joseph Goebbels
