Another horrific tornado strikes and causes loss of life, catastrophic property damage and sends many victims to hospitals.  This is another one of many tornadoes in a year that has brought this kind of destruction in other states.  Then you have the fires last year and those fire prone areas are striking up again out west. There have been rumblings of earthquakes that could wake up any day and be quite destructive also.  After you take in all of these acts of nature I have one question.  Why are the residents of Florida the only ones that the insurance companies screw?  Would my sister in Dallas or my sister in Kansas City or my sister in Dayton have just about the same odds of losing their home to a tornado as I do to a hurricane?  Why do they pay less than $900.00 a year for homeowners insurance and I pay over $3000.00?  Something is not right here. I asked that question when I was canceled and had to go with the Citizens and the agents couldn't answer that.  I think it is time to stir up the insurance nitwits in Tallahassee again.  I think Charlie has forgotten about us.

One thing we've learned from Katrina is that insurance companies don't have to pay full claims, if at all.

So we have to pay out the rear w/no guarantee that the insurance companies will live up to their part of the agreement if we have to file a claim. Sounds like something else to me.

RandyLoo, without accountable elections our politicians don't have to work for us. It's quite obvious isn't it. No wonder they all squawk "Conspiracy Theory" when vote fraud is mentioned. It's to their benefit to do so.

Well, it is because there is a major difference in the two.

A hurricane passes slowly, and will destroy very large areas.

Tornadoes pass quickly, and while they can be far more destructive, thier path is much smaller, sometimes doing no damage at all.

Hurricanes are far more destructive overall. Your sisters have much lower odds of losing thier home to a tornado, than you do of losing yours to a hurricane. And we also have tornados here too.

Insurance companies play the odds. They are not in business to lose money! LOL!

Frank, I got Booggy banned??? You're kidding me, right? I didn't get Booggy banned - why would I? He's one of my mates. One of the few that covers my backside when I need it and I have always tried to do the same for him. He's a stand-up guy.

I DID (along with Vitt's help) get For_The_People and his alter ego, The_Blog_Idiot banned. Have you seen how many new screen names HE's concocted? These all coming after Laid_Back_Farmer, HEAFFA and God knows how many others.

Criminy, I posted last night asking where Booggy's been lately.

OK! I apologize! Just a coincidence that boogy got banned at the same time.

I was raving about FTP's avatar myself! All his comments were just based on the avatar, and that made it very offensive to me. Any other avatar, I would have just dismissed him as a nut.

Again, so sorry for jumping to conclusions, but I thought someone was stifling or suppressing the boogyman, who is my very favorite blogger.
Peace bro, and boogy will be back!

Sorry Randy. Please feel free to delete all of my comments other than the one that was actually on topic. That is, if it is ok with Floyd.

Grew up in the good ol' 50's and 60's. I am opininated, sappy, sentimental and love my Country..but hate where it is headed (socialists scare the bejeebers out of me). I want to retire but can't afford to do so. Love the outdoors. Believe in right to carry arms for protection and sports. Married to a wonderful guy that knows the way to my heart is buying me a load of potting soil from the rock and gravel man.
