News coming out of Baghdad says that Al-masri was captured.....this is a good thing...bring on the waterboards..I don't know why the mainstream media hasn't picked this up..I haven't heard a peep tonight. Al-Masri took over al-Qaida in Iraq after  al-Zarqawi was killed.  Good Work Troops, squeeze all the info you can out of him.

Bernie Ward , West Coast , Slobbering Lib Talk Show Host who was an ex priest, ex-schoolteacher and who would rant for hours bashing Bush and Cheney.......pled guilty to possession of Child porn. Hypocrite and Pervert..figures!

Airforce Spy Drone missing from Ocala...YD ya know anything about this?

3 cheers and a badge of valor for the Deputies that took out the wife-beating monster yesterday at the PC Courthouse. Every day that I enter those doors I thank the Lord above for the armed Security and that they take NO BULL FROM anyone.

OK, YD, did I post correctly, was it too long or just about right? LOL

That is one of the reasons I am thinking of selling the last property I have left in Florida, and making this Northern paradise my full time year round home. As I am registered to vote, spend more than 6 months a year here, I was called for jury duty a few weeks back. Sleepy little county square with 150+ year old courthouse housing four judges in four grand courtrooms. The staff at the courthouse were friendly and courteous who seemed always ready to serve the needs of their visitors. Reached in my pocket to get some change out for the vending machine and realized I had a pocket knife as well as a small keychain razor knife.

You see, in other worlds, people cherish the fact that they do not have to hide behind a government that has scared the BLEEP out of everyone, and though there is crime in the area, no one has ever as far as the history I have read regarding the county, used violence at the county courthouse. There are no guards at the door, no metal detectors, no invasion of privacy, just people going about their business. Maybe because of the fact that the courthouse is treated the way it should be as belonging to the people instead of someone that believes they are a working class hero, the civil servants working at the courthouse treat people with respect and don't feel the need to be surrounded by armed guards.

And that is what makes this great country great...at least for us that don't have to hide behind an armed guard! If you want to live the life always on high alert believing that you need to be surrounded by an army of guards, there are countries in the

there are countries in the Middle East that thrive on that type of life style...go enjoy it there, but don't bring that weak mentality to my great country!

BLEEP! You have no clue what evil walks in those hallways of justice. You have no clue! I work there every single day. I live it. It comes in full living color, with attitudes, with hate for spouses, hate for judges, hate for lawyers, hate for the poor clerk that takes their money for fines. It is sad but Security at the courthouses area a must! Those guys are heroes, each and every one of them. They have the same risk that LEO's do on the road.

Then, why do the courthouses in the county here and surrounding counties not have security at the doors, metal detectors, etc.? You would think that there would be the same type of issues would you not? Could it be the mentality of those that work there whether it be the judges, lawyers, admin staff that have forgotten they are there to do the peoples work, not because they are superior to thsose there doing business with the county government which is their government?

Like I said, that shows the attitude that believes one is superior to another when actually that person works for the one they feel is inferior. You are a civil servant, and as a civil servant, you work for each and every citizen that walks the hallways of that courthouse...they are your boss! So like Reed, remember you work for the people!

I don't know why don't you ask them? We have it in Hillsborough County, not because anybody is superior, it is because we don't want to be barged in upon by some maniac firing a glock at everyone's head. Judges get death threats here all the time. Ask them if you don't believe me.

OK...If that is the way it is, that's the way it is for you in Hillsborough. But in Mercer County, PA, they don't have those problems nor do they feel the need for security in the peoples courthouse. I hope you will remeber that each and everyday when you walk through the doors of the courthouse you work in... "It is the peoples courthouse, and you work for the people!"

Perhaps RandyLoo prefers not to be killed while at work. I can't say I would disagree.

Small towns seem to retain their values and morals better than large sprawling hubs like what's found in Hillsborough. Ocala is a lovely place. Nearly everyone minds their manners (is it because there's probably a shot gun on every property? maybe).

Living by one of the courthouses in Polk County, I do know that I wouldn't want to work in it. The quality of people that go in and out on a daily basis ranks near the end of the totem pole. From what I've seen, the majority of people in and out of the courthouse here AREN'T fighting traffic tickets. They are drug users, thieves, and murderers. Throw in a few emotionally charged divorcee's and could you imagine the drama if there were no metal detectors? I would be rightfully fearful of my life every day if I worked there.

Yes, RandyLoo may work 'for the people' but she deals with some of the craziest citizens we have. How many stories have you heard about courtroom shootings in Mercer PA? I mean, this IS FL, land of the loony. We seem to have MORE than our fair share of wackos.

Jumpy, I agree. I moved out of Tampa to a small town and we've never been happier.

Choir boys don't go to the courthouse very ofter, but violent scumbags and their families do. A courthouse IS a very dangerous place.

What about the guy who killed all the little girls in the Amish school a couple of years ago?

I'll vote for waterboarding if we do Dick and Dumb first.

They both agree it's not torture, nor does it violate the Geneva Convention ( a view NOT shared by the rest of the civilized world).

Doing Al next IS a good idea stang.

Hey, our pal is trying to be a kinder, gentler soul (and is succeeding quite nicely).

Whata'ya say we have a post dedicated to only vile, obnoxious and degrading comments? No civility allowed. Only one post and if you don't want to be grossed out, don't play.

Is that ok Chris?

Kinder, gentler? I wonder what country he was telling me to move to in the ME? I may be a civil servant, but, I am also a citizen. Just like everyone else, I pay taxes. So in effect I work for myself. The security at the Courthouse is also there for the public's safety, probably more so than the employee's safety. Does anyone remember about 23 years or so ago when the irate husband doused his wife with gasoline on the courthouse steps in tampa? I do. Then we had no door security, maybe only 1 bailiff (avg age over 60) in each of the civil courtrooms, no one could move fast enough to help that poor woman. The last time I saw her was about 5 years after the incident, she looked like a monster with burns all over her face. She had to wear a knit mask. On any given day prisoners by the busload come into those courtrooms there are family members always hanging around and victims that would love to get a piece of the accused. I have been in court when they have bolted and crashed through glass and not a shot was fired to apprehend them. I even saw one bailiff almost die of a heart attack in the process of chasing an escapee. Courtrooms are dangerous. We who work there give good courteous service, we are trained to give respect to even the vilest of criminals...and we do. I don't have to defend those bailiffs they did their job and they did it well. The State of Florida and the County of Hillsborough protect its citizens and employees because they care and of the liability. It has nothing to do with Superior/Inferior treatment. That is someones imagination working overtim

Not too many "model citizens" have cause to frequent the courthouse (unless they work there).

I spent 8 years in the SO auxillary when Malcolm was Sheriff and have a good appreciation for the wothlessness of scumbags.

We still need to give them a fair trial before we hang them however.

True YD. And that is exactly why we clerks have to treat the criminals with respect, before and during trial. They are accused and guilt has not been decided until a jury or a judge says so. If any clerk can't be that way then they shouldn't be working in that position.

Grew up in the good ol' 50's and 60's. I am opininated, sappy, sentimental and love my Country..but hate where it is headed (socialists scare the bejeebers out of me). I want to retire but can't afford to do so. Love the outdoors. Believe in right to carry arms for protection and sports. Married to a wonderful guy that knows the way to my heart is buying me a load of potting soil from the rock and gravel man.
