Help me Heal the Bay!

I grew up hanging around the Redondo Beach pier and still live in the city. Unfortunately, the water around the pier is some of the worst of the entire Santa Monica Bay. Nearby storm drains and runoff from the pier contributes to the pollution. Organizations like Heal the Bay are constantly striving to remedy the water quality problem. This Saturday night (2/23) from 6-8pm, I’ll be working as a “guest waiter” at Kilkenny’s on the Redondo Beach pier. Kilkenny’s has agreed to donate a portion of the sales from all food items purchased during the time that I am there to Heal the Bay. Come on down to the pier and have a bite to eat and say hello to me! Hopefully I’ll be able to serve you. Have a great weekend everyone and stay dry.

Rick...kudos to you for your participation in helping to make a difference!

I live near Dana Point Harbour in South OC and I have seen the demise of it's beauty over the last 15 yrs because of pollution and ignorance...it breaks my heart!

I have never heard of this program....where would I get more info on it? Maybe we can make a difference here as well!!!

Good luck with your waiting job....don't take any wooden nickels as a tip!

I hope things went well over the weekend! On another matter, Seal Beach sure took a beating! I'll have to check out the beach sometime this week and see just what happened up close with safety in mind. How's Redondo fairing with the surf?

Rick, you can heal the bay with Mama's donuts. Think about it for a second. Fish have to eat all that sea scum and then they get poisoned. Donuts from Mama's are like life preservers. If you tossed one in the ocean it probably would float and guess what. The fish would get a sugar rush, have more energy and it would raise their spirits too. So I know how you can heal the bay, just get a large box of Mama's donuts and enjoy!

Sebar...YOU ARE REALLY SOMETHING! (HEE HEE!) Just don't forget to bring gallons of tequila with it...I hear those fish can be more aggressive according to Governmental Research...Hee Hee!
