People care because it's the history of the game that's being changed, and people, regardless of whether or not they like and respect him, want to see his bats, shoes, jerseys and feel like they're close to the event. I don't blame him for thinking that way, and in fact, nobody should be shocked by what he said. But above it all, it's history in the making and people want to see memorabilia.

The Commissioner cares because Barry is going to make history soon and he would like the Hall of Fame to have some items from Barry for historical purposes.

I'm not defending Bud Selig, I think he's one of the worst Commissioners in the history of the game because he ignored steroids for years until he was forced to face the facts.

I know that it will be apart of history but barry does not care, he thinks that since they Shunned him then why should he care about giving his stuff to the hall of fame. he knows that if his stuff is in there people are still going to talk and that what he does not want so he want to screw everyone. besides he might sell all that on ebay and make a lot of money.

I guess now he has softened his stance a bit and is willing to meet with representatives from the Hall of Fame to talk about giving them some items.

How nice of him. I guess he was aware of the heat he got by his tough stance a while back so he's changed his tune.
