Dear society, Welcome to my blog I hope it will make you think. I am tired of these people messing with our children. After working with many of the children we see in the news, I have learned what is in thier heads because I asked them. I took the time to have honest discussions without political correctness to understand what is on thier minds. I mainly work with what many teachers and parents fear. The hormonal, pubescent, mass media stimulated culture known as middle schoolers. They are the best. They still have the ability to take what is preached to them from parents and teachers and still form thier own opinions. Unfortunately, most people do not take the time to talk to them about important issues. Talk to you children and they will listen. They are too smart for "do as I say not as I do". Just like mamma lion teaches her babies how to be lions we must show our children how to be good, respectful human beings. I am going to school to be a teacher, but I do not even like that lable. I am a sharer of knowledge. They know things I do not know and I know things they do not know. If we all share information honestly, we all come out smarter. I have to get ready for school tomorrow so I will end for now.  Talk to them and try to earn thier respect! Good Luck. If you want pointers on how to do this feel free to ask. I can share what I have used that works and what does notwork.

This is an excellent blog, shirt. The best thing we can give to children is knowledge and understanding. They are not stupid and they resent being treated as though they are stupid or as though they do not exist. Talk to them and listen to them and never under any circumstances tell them you have no time or that you don't care. Saying that tells them exactly how one really feels or makes them think they are insignificant or unworthy of attention.
And speak to them like they're human beings and not like they're two years old. I can't stand people who use "that" tone of voice or speak "slowly and clearly".
Children are important and they are also our #1 resource; they're our future and they deserve our knowledge, intelligence and understanding.

Thank you, I have worked in Pinellas Public Middle Schools in the abc room. That is inside school suspension. I have heard teachers and students refer to it as "All Bad Children" in which I quickly correct them. It is Alternative Behavior Course. That is the abc in the name to show respect to those kids who taught me so much. The shirt is a code I live by and try to pass on to them. SHIRT stands for strength, honesty, integrity, respect, and trust. I try to instill these values in them. Many respond. I also have been known to correct adult teachers who show actions that go against the values. Students have seen my "GO OFF" on teachers who try to belittle students in my class. This shows the kids right is right and wrong is wrong. no matter who they are. This is how I roll! as the kids say. You are right adults need to talk with their kids not at them. I will go to court with them. what ever it takes to show I care. I have a question. As a future teacher I would love your opinion, What do consider characteristics of a good teacher? Best of luck and have a great day.

A characteristic for a good teacher is honesty and integrity first and foremost; to be respectful and respectable and to be a role model for children. Retain their respect with your appearance and with you knowledge and show them that you will be there for them to talk to them and to lead them. Give good advice but don't be their best friend. You have to be above the children and never at the same level with them. If you attempt to be their friend, they will not respect you and you won't inspire them. Use your experiences, good and bad, to their advantage and don't allow them to see you fail.
And watch the film, To Sir With Love.

seen it. Great movie. I believe children crave discipline. It shows them they are loved. If you send the message "do what ever you want" they hear I dont care. We cannot be at the same level we have experienced too much. We cannot backtrack in life like these freakin' pedophile teachers in the news. I HATE THEM!!! My dream is to pass legislation for all 1st time offender pedophiles get the death penalty. I dont care how they do it. Hanging, electrocution, lethal injection, firing squad, shark tank, even clubbed like baby seals. Don't care. In nature the sick do not last long. The nutty elk always gets caught by the lion. We need to come to the realization that there are some evil monsters in this world and we need to start thinning the herd. WOW! Whoa! How did I get on that rant? I guess it was because I saw that another middle school science teacher was caught with child porn on his computer after he loaned the SRO his laptop. See? Not smart enough to take up space. Thank you for the advice. Those principles are in my code. I will do the best I can. Best of luck! SHIRT abc

You have every right to rant, shirt. Teacher pedophiles are disgusting pieces of trash and need to be dealt with in exactly the way you described. No more of this "too pretty for jail" nonsense. Children are our best resource and they are our future. They should be treated with respect and given all of our knowledge, experience and ability. Why should they be put into the hands of those who don't care about them or use their bodies and minds for their own benefit and pleasure?
Children have more to offer than any one nowadays seems to give them credit for. They are eager to learn, to know and they want to know that they are worth while. There is so much of this missing when all everyone seems to want to think about it themselves.
Many years ago, a person who offended was placed in stocks in the middle of town where everyone could see their shame, taunt them, throw rotten food at them which put them before the public as a shameful disgusting abomination to the world. Other offenders where whipped thru town and publically humiliated. Since no one wants to be embarrassed like that, only an idiot committed a crime and therefore the crime rate was very low. If we want to rid ourselves of disgusting slime like a teacher pedophile, we have to bring back these sort of punishments and then throw them to the sharks. In this way, no one would want to face that and would think twice about fooling with a child.
Good luck, shirt, with your studies. With your principals and standards, I am sure you will be an excellent example to children and a good teacher.

The thing is there are dadies that love their children. They have no problem taking a life. Children need to know even though thwy consume so much media about "smackin' bitches and clockin' hoes"! There are dadies that will not tolerate young boys that think this mentality is OK! There are many daddys that kill and walk in court for it. There are many states that are lenient. Be creful children that read this we are out there!!! Be good we love you! SHIRT abc

I am here as the voice of our talented students as well as myself. I will share information I have learned from my adolescent "teachers" and thier parents.I have spent the last several years listening to them, college professors, and anyone who is willing to share their HONEST opinion in productive, respectful, debate. They can teach you as well if you just listen. Many of my comments will be about student issues as well as parent issues. I am willing to comment on any issue that pertains to children, parents, and school issues. If this goes well feel free to have your children, grandchildren or friends log on share thier feelings. I do not have a degree in child psychology or any psychological area. I am just a good student of human nature. As a Desert Storm Veteran I have seen what the human race can do to one another. We must learn to help one another and it starts with dismissing prejudicial hang ups and helping the only race that matters... the human race. Much love, SHIRT
