So Darlene Green and Jim Shrewsbury continue to ensure that St. Louis has as much difficulty as possible moving into the next millenium. We are talking about 9 acres of land that is already being utilized for BJC parking. Not to mention the additional millions of dollars the deal would have generated for park maintenance. This was a great deal for St. Louis's future health care needs and our continued national recognition for park excellence and DG and JS blew it for the rest of us. They took the typical Liberal line and caved to the pressure of a very vocal minority. I hope they all enjoy the 9 acres of green space when businesses that make St. Louis special look outside of our area when expansion is NEEDED. Just remember that these are the same people who would prefer the government be able to confiscate your private property to be utilized for the public good. The modern environmental movement is also a home for wayward Socialist and Communists. They know that media hyped environmental concerns offer a clear path to the diminishing of personal property rights and the slowing of private business expansion.

Regarding the Tuesday, January 30th appearance by criminal profiler Lawrence Moran;
Either his analysis was based on pure ignorance or he was simply feeding the appetite of an overly sympathetic public. To suggest that these were forced, posed sexual fantasy pictures by Devlin would be humorous if not so sad and destructive. Destructive in the sense that when someone is presented as a qualified expert, the public tends to trust his analysis even when it is flawed. It's sad because people are falling over themselves to make excuses not to know the truth.
No matter what his motivation for offering such naive assessment, I see his diploma as nothing more than expensive toilet paper.

As I sit here sleepy, ready to lay down and drift off into a peaceful slumber, 1000 ideas are dancing in my head. None of them seem to be all too interesting. They fade in and out too quickly to get a firm handle on at this late hour.
Let's all work together and come up with that one great blog idea. If anyone would be so kind as to toss out an idea that strikes me, I'll be glad to get it started. I've been writing about news and current events for many years but I'd be happy to try something new.

I want everyone to know who I am and what to expect when they visit my blogs.
I always stood alone in my beliefs and stood tall when greatly outnumbered. Growing up I never knew what I was but knew I was different. I was lucky enough to be involved in a gifted program in school so I had more opportunity to debate than some others. I was 18 years old, working as a construction laborer and heard a voice on the radio saying things I had never heard anyone besides myself say aloud. I asked who it was and a drywaller said it was some guy named Rush. That was August of 1988 and I have given 3 hours a day for nearly 20 years to my political and current events education. An education I believe rivals any you can get obtaining a 4 year degree.
I have no problem speaking hard truths and often hold others to a very high standard. If they do not meet my standard I'm always willing to help if I can. I'm not about bringing people down but lifting them up.
I am always willing to listen and absorb opinions of others. Over the last few years I've changed my opinion on many issues because someone help to guide me. I thank those people.
So....love me or hate me, come hang out and mix it up. When we're done we can go have a beer and a few laughs.

I invite anyone and everyone to join me and participate in debate, discussion and friendly conversation. I can no longer comment on other's blogs do to owner censorship. Too many people here edit and delete comments posted to their blog if they don't agree with the opinions. I had one deleted today that was packed with undisputable facts that contradicted the owners own misguided beliefs.
I PROMISE NEVER to amend any blog I post and encourage others who dicover this practice to inform me and I'll post their name. This site is for us and we must clean it up when needed. Someone has to step up and take the lead on this issue and if not me then who?
There is power in numbers and I believe that most of those who either agree or disagree with me still wish to have the discussions open and free.

I am new to Fox 2 blogging. What is the criteria for a blog gaining a prominent spot on the front blog page?

A news blog is meant to inspire intelligent debate amung thoughtful people. Sometimes the debates are very heated and intense but that's perfectly fine by me. What I can't stand is being called names by people who are just not up for the fight. It is always my goal to guide and to raise the bar and set the standard. I have been called stupid, coward, hate monger and others that Fox replaces with "BLEEP". If you know you are going to get an intellectual spanking.....why would you beg for it by being rude and ignorant?

Congrats to Brian Wilson on being named Fox's new VP & DC Bureau Chief. FoxNews continues to secure and promote excellence. They have assembled the most impressive staff of on-air and production support talent in the news business, a trend that has obviously trickled down to the local level. Today is a proud day for the entire Fox family.

When I saw the news of Ben and Shawn's rescue I sat in awe. Dumbfounded by what I was seeing. I sat with my 12 year old and didn't fight back tears of joy for the kids, their friends and families and the entire community. It was indeed a glorious day.
Now we need to know the truth. It wasn't so long ago I was 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 years old. I remember the fears of my youth. I imagine how I might have been controlled by a monster. I know I'm not alone when I say we need to know why he stayed.
Let's imagine an 11 year old boy who is already showing his rebelious side with a diamond in his ear. He lives in a rural area with his mother and step father. Maybe the home life isn't as rosey and sweet as we have been lead to believe. Then one day tragedy strikes and this boy is snatched from his bike and held against his will. After a time he realizes he does not have to go to school anymore. He is showered with gifts. He is allowed freedom in a city he has never experienced before. Months pass and, it makes me sick to think, he didn't want to go back. We don't know anything about sexual or physical abuse. We don't know what tactics Devlin might have used to brainwash Shawn if indeed he used any at all.
Devlin should no doubt spend the rest of his life being abused in one of our states finest prisons. Shawn can still be saved I believe. The only one question I would ask is, "was Shawn's rescue as joyful a day for him as the rest of the world?"

Here's a little bedtime stiory for ya kiddies. Once upon a time, when I was just a boy, I was pulled over by the police for speeding (which I was). Being a young man with a bit of an attitude, I was of course treated as such by the officers. Upon a search of my vehicle, the officer found a small pocket knife in my glove compartment. I was in the process of moving from one house to another at the time and had my car filled with other personal effects as well. I was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a deadly weapon. An arrest that would indeed alter the course of my life. I was going through the process of entering the police academy at the time. This felony arrest disqualified me from that process. Over the next years I was hassled, interrogated, abused and generally treated like a common thug by all police I came into contact with in an official capacity.
Now we have a 78 year old woman pulling a shotgun on an 8 year old girl scout and her father and the police and prosecuter REFUSE to take action. If ever there were a case of UUW, this must be it. They say she might be crazy. All the more reason to to put her ass on the floor and cuff her quickly before the "crazy" can be unleashed again. I wonder what might have happened if the firefighter father had taken the weapon from her hand and bashed her nose in with the stock. I bet he would have been arrested and charged. We would see that poor old "crazy" woman on Fox News 3 times a day crying about her ordeal.
And what lesson has this 8 year old girl learned? That when you get old and crazy you can do what you want without consequences. Maybe the family of that little girl should consider civil action for emotional distress. I'm sure these old crazy people have little more than "a pot to piss in", but if it were me I'd take the pot. They might even get lucky enough to take the house and force the scared old crazy lady to be put in a home where she belongs.
We can no longer sit back and allow the powers that be to protect and serve us as they should. The cops are more concerned with having a badge and gun than doing the job. The DAs are too focussed on the the ladder of political power. I'd be ashamed to admit I was paralized with fear of the AARP. They might be a huge voting block today but they will die soon and that is life. We have the right to take back our streets and neighborhoods, with force if need be.
