Knott's Berry Farm in California will not longer allow people with disabilities to go to the front of the line. Why? Because too many people were pretending to have disabilities in order to "cut" in line.

There are certain things that Knotts Berry will do in order to accommadate persons with diasabilities.. but going to the front of the line is no longer one of them.

I say, good for Knott's Berry Farm! The fact that people would do  something like this to avoid waiting their turn is ridiculous, and rude.

Here's the whole story

The power and light district is being accused of racial motivated dress code. They said the rules unfairly discriminate against African American Males

You have got to be kidding me.. Is there nothing these days that you  wont  play the race card .. The dress code  says:

NO loitering: What? You dont know how to be a customer ?

NO Concealed Weapons: Cant go somewhere and leave the weapons at home when yuo're out having a good time? Gotta bring your gun incase some punk pisses you  off, so you can cap his arse?

NO Solicitations: That's right the businesses there paid good money to be the ones doing business there

NO Disorderly Conduct: Are you telling me you are incapable of behaving yourselves?

NO Bicycles or Skateboards: I think this is pretty self explainatory.

Apparel Deeamed inappropriate by Management Such As:

Profanity on Clothing: People bring their children and besides no one wants to go out for a nice time and read about your HO

Sweat Shirts Work Boots: Yeah, dress up a little

the dress code prohibits exposed necklaces worn by men, untucked shirts and white T-shirts

Among the most contentious dress code elements are prohibitions against chains or necklaces worn by men, untucked shirts, white T-shirts and long, baggy clothes. That's right no "street clothes"

The Power and LIght district is trying to maintain an upscale look. I think it is  a Good thing.

I dont believe that it targets anyone except people who like to hang around looking like punks carrying firearms...

What do you think?

Here is the whole story

Remember Richard Hatch, the first winner of "Survivor" Well he is appealing his sentencing of 4 years for tax evasion all the way to the Supreme Court

For those of you that werent aware, he was sentenced to 4 years after he failed to pay taxes on the 1 million he won on the show.

His defense was that he caught the producuers cheating somehow on the show and they told him if he kept his mouth shut they would pay his taxes.

They say he is full of BLEEP.

His reason he deserves an appeal. The judge that was overseeing his trial prevented Richard from testifying about the conversation.

Attorney says the same judge didnt allow him to ask the questions he wanted to of the tax accountant who prepared Richard's tax return.

And Guess What? He is writing a book about the legal system.. Well, this ought to be good.

Geez Richard.. this is ALL your own fault. Everyone knows that if someone says they are going to pay your taxes... you better make sure they did.

In December, we went to Cancun. Now I won the trip from 101.1 the fox.. Well, we had a blast. There were no strings attached to the trip, it was a real prize. They paid for 4 days 3 nights. Airfare, hotel transfers, all inclusive resort taxes, right on the beach. everthing

Well it wasnt my first time to the rodeo, So, I played around with some dates and hotels and extended the stay to 8 days and 7 nights, still all inclusive for only 200.00 more.

We stayed in a little bit smaller resort and the food was awesome and people that were there were just wonderful.

Since we got all this for free, we decided to take a bunch of excursions, We went to chichenitza, cazumel, and we took the Captain Hook's Pirate Cruise..

By the way the pirate cruise was the most fun of all,. They have two big Pirate ships and you sail out and have dinner (lobster or steak or both)There is a show, something is going on all the time and it is funny. You couldnt even finish one drink before the next one was sitting in front of you. After the dinner, the ships meet up in the middle of the ocean and fight each other..

Anyway, I have digressed... I think we would have had a better time if we didnt go all these places, no matter where we went, except the cruise,  there were constant stops. At these places, we always chased after by souvenir or time share pimps. I was even surprised that at the airport, you had to walk past 30 of them hanging around at tables trying to get you to stop with your luggage and all your stuff, with your ride waiting outside, to try and get you to go to a timeshare presentation.

At Chichenitza, They were hanging around inside the National Monument, their wares all displayed on blankets on the ground and would follow you around while you were trying to see the ruins... I must have said no 100 times....

So, if you go to a vacation destination, just know that this WILL happen. Choose your excursion carefully and be prepared to say NO ...  A lot

So, Ok I am done.. just wanted to rant a little....

As I drive past the parking lot of Blue Springs HIgh School, I cant help but notice all the bright shiny new cars. When I went to school there, it was fool of a bunch of used cars that has lost some of there shine. Some had some rust. The really shiny ones were the cool guys who had taken a junker and rebuilt it to it's orginal beauty in shop class, or at home from what they had learned in shop class, or from their dads, or their buddies.

I guess in one way it is good that the kids have more reliable cars, but in another I think in the zeal to give their kids everything, parents are taking something away. The lessons that come with the junker car. The time you could spend with them teaching a little automotive common sense.

With my junker car in the 70's, I learned to check my fluid levels on a regular basis to insure that nothing was going wrong. I learned how to gap a spark plug, what  a distributor cap did, how to change spark plug wires. I learned how to change my own tires and how to check to insure they were properly inflated. I learned that if you didnt keep the radiator full that the heater wouldnt work. I learned that a car needed to breath so the filters had to stay clean, I learned that oil gets old and you have to change it. I learned the the answer to that horrible grinding sound that my brakes where making was not turning up the radio so that it no longer annoyed me.

The first car used to be about a learning experience. Now, it is just a status symbol. Where will they learn all those things, if not in the school of hard knocks. Will they always have to have someone else do these small things for them? Will they come out of college making a six figure salary? Or will you be supporting them? Will they just go into debt by paying high prices for simple stuff?

What ever happend to the First Junker Car?

When I was 17 I was married for the first time and it was aweful. When I think back we both got married for the wrong reasons and by the time I was 23, I knew it was a mistake. And it ended badly in divorce.

As with many people I swore of marriage and set off to be a single parent for the next 7 years. It was actually fun for me, because I was creative and always managed to come up with the money we needed and with just my daughter and I we became great friends as she got older.

When I was 30, I met a man who made me feel as though, I might be ready to try being married again. We were only married for 4 months before he died. It wasnt a good marriage.. we fought a lot, and neither of us really had any skills for being married, nor did we have the patience.

That is when I KNEW, I should not be married. But his death caused a huge difference in me. Anger set in, An anger that eventually, I no longer even attempted to control. When I look back on this, I realized that my anger was a way of keeping anyone from aproaching me or getting to close. That way, I would not be hurt again and could claim that I didnt really want anyone near me anyway.

So, my 30's were, needless to say miserable. When I reached 40, I met a man who took my hand and took me church and showed unbelievable kindness and understanding.

After renewing my relationship with God, I finally was released ot the anger that had encompassed me for 10 years. The people who had always been around me, had stood by me through all this, could not believe the difference that this person had made in my life.

So, I did it again.. I actually got married again... And instantly it changed. We were both frustrated.. I still tell jokes about us thinking.. Hmmm Married.. Ahhhh, you meant EVERY day! The fact is that the original problem was still there. Neither of us had the skills or the patience to be married. With mutiple divorces and disfunctional families.. we had never seen a good example of what a marriage should look like.

But this time it was different. I was older, I was free from my old anger and I had a new resource... my church.

The church we attend holds an extensive line of classes, one is called Marriage on the Rock. It is a program based on the teachings of Jimmy Evans.. yeah the one from the television show..

From the first class, I was intrigued.. I wondered if this was just some kind of preachy thing or what...  well it wasnt

IT really told you rules for being married... Things that Men and Women do that cause the trust level to be broken down and then the communications.I am not talking about infidelity here, I am talking about everyday things that hack away at a ralationship.  It teaches how this partnership REALLY works. and teaches that fact that it is a partnership, no one better or over the other... It teaches of the outside forces that should never be allowed to interfere and even how to handle what you say versus what they hear....

IT absolutely changed my marriage.. I have NEVER been happier in my life and I feel like I understand and trust my husband .. and he me. We are truly a united force and it is working wonderfully.

So, if you feel as though you are not getting what it is you want out of your marriage.. dont get a divorce.. just yet.. You can actually purchase this program online. See if there is something you can do to change your marriage..

Because as you can see.. if you cant make it with your current spouse (barring abuse or addictions)  there is a reason, and you wont be able to make it with the next one.. until you solve that reason.   Solving that reason.. could be exactly what saves your marriage.

Are you, or do you know someone with far too many dust collecting knick knacks? I dont have too many, but I have enough that my friends know they are perfectly welcome to pick them up and check them out... but please, return them EXACTLY where you got them.. Thus not exposing the dust ring where they once were.

I have found a secret to keeping this to a minimum without maximum time. First you must dust them all. After that, grab your blow dryer and just walk around the room blow them all off, and BAM, they collect minimum dust retain their shine and I have more time to spend... well,..... hmmm....... well, wherever I want besides dusting all my stupid Knick Knacks....... Errrr.. I mean precious collectables!

I had some friends over for dinner last weekend, a group that I see quite often. My husband and I were trying to figure out what to serve for dessert. As usual, he was requesting strawberry shortcake (his favorite). I just didnt want to serve it AGAIN.. So, while wandering around the veggie fruit department I happened upon a box of vanilla wafers... Now. maybe the whole world knew this, but I did not.

There was a recipe on the back of the box that had you crunch up all the wafers, mix in a little melted butter and press them in the pan, just like a graham cracker crust. Then you would use the same mixture for the top crust. It was the bomb! It added a whole newflavor combination that I had never had before... But will definately be using a again. It was quick, easy, and wonderful.. all my farvorite things.  This recipe in particular, was a frozen treat using icecream and fruit. But my mind quickly raced to banana cream, lemon cream, strawberry pies. Apple Crisp. The list keeps going on in my mind. I could even use them instead of the shortcake for his favorite dessert! Company loved it and none of them had ever had it before.

So, if you have never tried this before.. give it a whirl.. I am glad I did!

Chronic pain.. Known relief from some types of chronic pain.

TMJ- there is actually a staple to relieve the symptoms of Temporal Mandibular Joint Pain.

Menopausal Symptoms- sleepless nights and hot flashes, stress and irritability.

The science behind these tiny staples is actually thousands of years old. Based on the theories of Acupuncture and Acupressure.. There use is spreading all over the united states.

I dont know about the rest of you but my hubby goes through cell phones like cornflakes. We dont even have a landline.. so when he drops it, leaves in on the fence post in the rain for 3 days, or just plain loses it. We used to be stuck with purchasing a new one A LOT.. But we have discovered that a lot of people go through cell phones like cornflakes for a different reason.. they want the newest.. brightest.. most up-to-date phone that there is.. so, they quickly go out and buy it and still have their own phone.

Garage Sales have been my saving grace on this. You just have to make sure it is a cell phone from the same service you are using.. believe me, they are all available out there.. Still working perfectly and ready to use.

For about  $5-$10 you can get a perfectly operating phone, if you just dont require all the bells and whistles. Oh, and those are still out there for only slightly more,. not to mention the recharge cords are always included. and if you are lucky the instruction manual and box...

This is definately better than even the cheapest.. we found to be about $40.00  that you can get from your service brand new.. Now the hubby that goes through cell phones like cornflakes.. we buy them for about the price of cornflakes.

Take you favorite soup bowl and spray with non stick spray.  Line the bowl with plastic wrap and then fill with your favorite homemade soup or chili. Put in freezer. When it is frozen solid. Pop out of the bowl remove plastic wrap and put in freezer bag.

Now when you want to enjoy all you have to do is place the soup bowl cube back into your favorite soup bowl and zap in the microwave... couldnt be easier!

Before you add your veggies in with your pot roast, dip them in flour. As everything cooks it will thicken your broth and the pot roast, veggies, AND the gravy will be done at the same  time.
