Specter's Blog

As gas prices continue to increase, Congress continues to blame others while ignoring practical steps to stop the pain Americans are feeling at the pump. To lower gasoline prices and reduce our dependence on foreign oil, we need real solutions to our energy challenges.

Watch Newt Gingrich provide an update to our new Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less. campaign:

Background

The average price for a gallon of gas is now $3.93, this is $.72 higher than a year ago.

The U.S. Congress has acted, but in the wrong direction. Last week, the Senate voted narrowly against reversing a moratorium on oil-shale development.

Federal officials and industry experts estimate that up to 1.8 trillion barrels of oil is trapped in the region’s oil shale, or three times the proven reserves of Saudi Arabia.

Laws and policies that restrict access to America’s abundant energy drive up the price of fuel and electricity. They cause widespread layoffs and leave workers and families struggling to survive, as the cost of everything they eat, drive, wear and do spirals higher.

Research from the Platform of the American People

73% of the American people agree that with appropriate safeguards to protect the environment, we should drill for oil off America’s coasts to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Head to the American Solutions site for more data and info.

I think that they should raise gas taxes to $5 a gallon, and then they can use the money to buy electric cars for the drug addicts on welfare who don't want to work.

They should also execute anyone who drives anything bigger than a 4-cylinder. Illegal aliens would be expempt, because they're doing the jobs Americans won't do. I mean, have you ever tried dragging your girlfriend to death behind a 4-banger?

Also, they should confiscate all of our guns and melt them down to make windmills.

After all, it's the Obama way.

Sorry, dude. I overdosed on sarcasm pills.

I love the direction of Newt's program (it's called a SOLUTION, libtards).

Now he just needs to make a youTube explaining supply and demand in a way the libtards will understand.

Signed and forwarded, Specter. Nice work, bro.

Newt has it right again. I wish the bug loving tree hugging people and all those on the left would wake up and see the light of the error of their ways.

Signed it.

I was watching Newt talk about the general attitude in this country, and the candidates, and I wondered why he wasn't the Republican candidate. Toadie said it- Newt has it right again.

Supply and demand by definition has been ignored by the leftists.

Demand goes up, cut the supply, crush consumer confidence, raise taxes, then claim victory.

Sounds like a Soros template doesn't it?

Really! You know what I never hear about? A few years ago the economy was making a nice comeback from 9/11, even though I thought the Fed blew it in the summer of 2002. But when Congress changed hands, the economy started sliding, quickly. Nobody ever talks about that! It's so frustrating.

Oh, and I'm going to deck the next person I hear talk about the "recession"! We haven't had seen even one period of negative growth, although the liberals are the Kings of Doomsday, and would love to see it. Do they really hate Bush more than they love their country? The answer makes me sad, I think.

The answer SHOULD make you sad, Ray's Mom.

Look around these pages...The liberals are STILL whining about Bush's reasons for going into Iraq, although they're whining a lot less this week...

Thanks, Specter.

You may also notice how they bit@# about the Oval Office in regards to the gas prices, but fail to offer any workable solutions. I belive Specter also had a great post on that topic...

Notice how I came back to the topic, Marc?

DON'T BAN ME BRO! DON'T BAN ME!!!
